  1. I'm on the 2.0-2.5 band wagon, though I tend to grade along the lines of MCS.
  2. I think Metamorpho looks like he just discovered he can't breathe underwater!!
  3. I remember Harley Yee from the Chicago shows back in the late 80's. Never bought anything from him.
  4. I just looked at two over at MCS and they didn't have that problem. The corner on those were completely darker yellow than yours and the Spiderman was a deeper orange as well. I'm no expert, but I'm leaning toward fading.
  5. I had a cracked case arrive last Saturday. I filed a claim with ebay, the seller contacted me and apologized. I sent him the book back Monday (with an ebay prepaid label). He got it Wednesday and I was refunded the same day. I would have left him positive feedback, but as soon as you file a claim that option is no longer available to you. Bypass USPS on this and file the claim with ebay. And yes, every freaking Priority Mail box containing a CGC book I've gotten looks like apes danced on it.
  6. I had debated buying this one. Nice to see it went to a good home. Now if I can find one that I can afford.....
  7. I bought a new, shrink wrapped hardcover from an online retailer. Two of the pages were stuck together by some sort of greenish, moldy silly putty looking stuff. I did not give it the sniff, touch and taste test. The retailer told me to throw it away and they would send a new one.
  8. I used to buy quite a lot from them back in the late 80's, early 90's. Hard to beat getting a bunch of fifty centers in those days. Their trading system really sucked (send us your finest and you can get these 50 centers in return) and it took forever to get my books(6 to 7 weeks in some cases). I pulled the plug on that well over 20 years ago and have absolutely zero regrets.
  9. Has anybody else noticed that some silver age listings now also have a stock photo before you get to the actual book itself? You wind up looking at a nice stock photo, then you see the real book which may be garbage. I've even come across it with CGC books. It just wastes more time.....
  10. Was finally able to snag this one at what I felt was a cheap price.
  11. I'd keep the 1.0 rather than risk a purple label of death 1.5 (or less).
  12. Some that arrived this week. The JLA 37 is one of my favorite covers, even though the JLA doesn't apear on it.
  13. I picked this up in early June and don't have plans to part with it any time soon. I did a lot of research on the net before buying it. Felt that for the money, this was a pretty decent buy. It does have a bit of staple rust, but no migration as far as I can tell. Personally I'm leaning to the 3.5-4.0 range and would appreciate your input. On a side note, I am having minor surgery tomorrow. Will have to be off my foot for 48 hours, so I may not be able to check in. Maybe I can jigger this on my phone. Thanks in advance! (BTW the spine should be visible, no damage there).
  14. I sent this off to MCS as a 4.0 and they graded it as a 4.0. Yea!
  15. I'm not too upset. If it sells at the good+ price, the worst I will do is break even.
  16. I gave up buying and reading current "floppies" a few months ago. My subs were whittled down to Batman, Detective, Flash and a few others before I bailed out.I prefer to go the tpb way now. I did pick up the White Knight set and Metal (main series) sets recently. Loved White Knight, Metal not so much. I'm getting older and have been dealing with severe health issues since 1991. Digging through boxes looking for certain issues has become a PITA. Of course I have a backlog of Ducks and Mice, along with some moderns and a lot of Silver to read.
  17. Even though I have all of the run in ungraded books, this is the first of two that I won. The other should arrive next week.
