CGC Notes: light wear to covermoderate finger bends on cover moderate staining to cover Perfectly centered, clean copy. 7. Uh... Obviously this was purchased before I committed to my criteria.
  8. Lol, that's exactly my criteria too. the bats have to be all the way in. I gotta have some standards or else I'd buy just about anything! As for that 113... definitely boarderline, but the pq pushes it into the buy side.
  9. I LOVE the colors on this copy. When I evaluate the color I look to the hands- and yours are a real nice light flesh tone. Underrated book imo.
  10. Years ago I came across this on the boards in an old poetry thread, I think it was about books that inspired you to write a poem (?). Pretty darn great imo. ( Wish I could give credit to the poet but I couldn't find the OG post. It seems the search function only goes back to 2019, pretty sure this is a few years before then.) Here's reversed and slightly enlarged version that might be easier to read:
  11. I bought these for the groovy psychedelic 60s vibe, brilliant hallucinogenic color, and both kinda feel like a christian acid trip heading in the wrong direction... The second one was a decade before its time.
  12. The cat is pretty spectacular for a Funny Animal. I want to see a cage match with all the super-animals.
  13. Outstanding! Love that color- don't think I've seen this one before.
  14. I don't know.... that skull is hugging the spine pretty tight... LOL. No you're right, that's a nice copy.
  15. The elephant in the room.... I know, its not Matt Fox, but still....
  16. That is soooo rad. I just love the hands growing out of the earth.
  17. Went looking for the answer and hit the Matt Fox jackpot! This article/blog has what looks like most of everything he ever did, except there's only one of the Atlas Lieber inking examples. Nothing from Fox Pubs though. https://web.archive.org/web/20111014084148/http://goldenagecomicbookstories.blogspot.com/2009/05/matt-fox-1906-1988-all-of-his-weird.html Includes ALL his stupendous pulp covers, including this which he reused for Chilling Tales 13:
  18. Yeah it's really an unfair choice, you either get all the skull on the left, or all the G on the right. This copy spits the difference due to the overhang printers error. Also, I just realized the figure card doesn't have the skull!
  19. Possibly my #1 all time favorite book, over the years I've bought 7, 3 of which I still have. One of the first 3 PCH books I bought at the SDCC back around 1990. Just a fantastic issue inside and out. The Screaming Skull is awesome, and the The Hand Of Glory is, from what I've seen, my favorite Matt Fox interior work. And these came in the mail yesterday...
