  1. Wow thanks for the excellent ref- love the Foxx/Lieber bibliography at the end- gonna be some reading!
  2. I'd love to see that- big Matt Fox fan- can you give any specific issues I could search for? His pulp covers are great also.
  3. Yeah as soon as she picked the 1949 issue of the walking dead as #1, I knew she was a poser.
  4. On my first date with ChatGPT, of course the first topic of conversation: ChatGPT's Top Ten Golden Age Horror Skull Covers 2023:
  5. I ordered a set- might have to get another to open and play with…
  6. I gotta go Catman here. Nice skull. The magician guy is super cool on the Power. But I just can’t look past the buck tooth china man. Those old timey racial characters are impossible to ignore.
  7. Looks like some great prices, but they need a wider golden age size. Gerber's golden age is 8" wide, which I use for my GA books that are just about exactly 7 5/8" wide. These books would be a too tight a fit in Pro Line's 7 5/8" wide GA bags.
  8. This is an interesting legal situation- who owns the rights to these images? Do submitters sign a waiver for cgc to display photographs of their graded books? Might they be legally required to?
  9. I don't see this sale as particularly insane- less than 1k above last years sale for a very scarce book. And this one's a beauty. For the seller, 25% profit is a nice return, but at this price, hardly a windfall. Perhaps there were underbidders last year determined not miss another chance. I've lost auctions for very cool scarce books, which I now regret not throwing down at least another grand for. If those books showed up at auction next week, I wouldn't hesitate to pull the trigger.
  10. Yeah wow some fantastic stuff! Now I want to put together mine. But I'm on the fence with the amazing mysteries and weird tales, I consider them pre-pch (PPCH?) but I love them both!
  11. Interesting. I live by the ocean so I'm obsessed with keeping out as much humid air as possible, so drop in a few sheets of micro chamber and I seal them them air tight- not sure how much it helps, but its fun and I sleep better...
  12. I was going to pull these out of their bags but realized I'm out of tape
  13. I see your Voodoos and raise you one Harry Anderson
  14. My avatar is also stretched, and my kudos thread was replaced by an error message for a while, but I notified CGCM and it's back ..
  15. Speaking of guns, looks like the holes on your comics have "exit wounds" on the front cover, meaning the puncture started on the back of the comic. You can tell by the larger amount of paper missing on the actual front cover, compared to the smaller holes on the inside pages. As mentioned above, perhaps the newsstand had a display wall with finishing (headless) nails pounded in to function as "pegs". Each month new copies of the comics were pushed onto the nails at the corner and hung, now on display, till the next month. Then maybe... your OO bought them as at discount because they were old and "damaged"? I can imagine some clever young kid working out such a deal
  16. haha- I was admiring that 113 too. def a very cool looking low grade book. I wonder what other books that person had in their 3 ring binder?
  17. Didn't know I needed a Doll Man till now- what a killer cover! Thanks for posting.
