  1. Yeah right edge corners look slightly blunted so I go 9.2 - 9.4 also.
  2. If the stain you're referring to is the discoloration at top of spine back cover, that's actually more paper missing from bug chew... which probably doesn't help?
  3. I don't usually recommend this, but pressing out that spine roll would help its eye appeal tremendously. I'd try that then slab. Classic book.
  4. 4.5 - 5.5 for Bronze Age based on overall wear. No spine splits helps.
  5. That's LB Cole on the cover art- check him out! All time classic golden age.
  6. I've wanted a nice copy of this forever, but the bug chew on the back cover scared me. A beauty otherwise. What would you grade this as- it sold for almost $4000. Good buy? There maybe slight slight rust on the staples too.
  7. Such an awesome cover, but a pretty crunchy book. This seller has an apparently endless supply of cool books, I've bought a few, but most seem to have been found after decades of sitting in a hot Nebraska hayloft or something. Toasty.
  8. Looks like collecting Classics Illustrated was more popular than PCH?
  9. Cool bit of history there, thanks! Didn't know HA was doing weekly auctions back then... 16years ago?
  10. Heritage is favorite auction site by far. Love the magnification when you roll over a book- big enough to make a difference, nice midpoint between thumbnail and full size. a real time saver. You can sort out listing by a variety of criteria. My one big beef is that they stack the covers of multiple book lots. I get it if there's like 20 books, but maybe up to 6 they could just lay them out. I hate not seeing what I'm bidding on.
  11. Here we go- my apologies to Mr. Baker, who I respect immensely. (Lost the hare-lips too... Mr. Robot)
  12. If only she was saving a shark in number 6. Hmmm...
  13. Good grief this is a beautiful book! One of my favorites of the run. I bought a copy once, looked good on the computer, but in hand the colors were dark drab and disappointing, so I soon sold it. But this is amazing, perfectly centered too. What a jewel!
  14. Or these Nick Of Timers- I'm developing an addictive fondness for these non-military Heroic covers.
  15. Love the books in this thread, but shouldn't it be either gruesome demise, or saved in the nick of time? Otherwise we can list just about any Early Super Hero, Jungle, Crime, Sci Fi or PCH here. In fact I'm having trouble finding anything from my collection that doesn't qualify! Regardless, how about this for being saved in the nick of time?
  16. Yes Paul thanks, this is an unbelievable resource. Happy New Year!
