  1. Yes, this site is awesome! Love seeing the titles/covers by month and year.
  2. Yes, me too! Great resource if you actually want to have something in your hands and on the shelves. I love the MMW, and I'm getting the sets for ASM, SSM, MTU, and other odds and ends.
  3. Tales of Wonder is so difficult to search their site, but I have purchased many trades from them in the past.
  4. These don't appear to have the current info. The site was a great resource...no longer maintained.
  5. Folks, Is there a website out there with a good summary of the release and status of Marvel Masterworks? I used to follow Collected Editions and ordered many from Tales of Wonder over the years. Both seem to have lapsed... Any good sites out there? Thank you much. V/R, Mike
  6. Send me a DM if you want it. I will be selling most of the issues raw. Getting the above ones slabbed at some point.
  7. Hello, I'm going through my Spider-Man related collection for books that should be slabbed. For Spectacular Spider-Man, I'm looking at 1, 2, 3, 6,9, 22, 23, 24, 27, 64, 87, 90, 98, 101, 107, 231 var, and Annual 4. My purpose is to make them easier to sell, and ensure I am not overlooking a very grade copy or two. When I've pulled some of my HG ASMs, I have been getting plenty of 9.6s and 9.8s, so that can make a pick difference. Let me know what you think. Thank you! V/R, Mike
  8. Submitted 24 Moderns that arrived 2 Aug, and they were shipped 1 Sep! Regular service and not fast tracked! I am thrilled! Solid grades as well. Only one off a little. V/R, Mike
  9. Awesome! Excellent goal...achieved! Enjoy the success and the moment. What's next, Josh? Oh, ad "my" 13 looks sweet in this lineup! V/R, Mike
  10. UPDATE: I ended up shipping the full CGC boxes, with the graded comics, in medium Home Depot, heavy duty, double-walled boxes (21" x 16" x 15"). They worked great. I was able to put packing peanuts under and around the boxes, plus ensure the comics were snug and safe inside the CGC boxes (each with plastic bag, paper to fill gaps, etc.). Six boxes weighing just over 200 lbs...no damage, and cost well under half of what a freight company wanted to ship them. Finding the Home Depot double-walled boxes was the game-changer for me! Single-walled boxes are terrible, and likely would have burst open with the weight and pressure. V/R, Mike
  11. I removed it! Good advice...
  12. Pictures are in order as listed above in the pricing and release dates.

  14. Heading to eBay... Thank you for those who looked. V/R, Mike ^^^ Folks, I've been on the boards from near the beginning, and I'm selling my Bowen Minis. These are all basically like new and in the box, except for the Bullseye mini. I don't believe most of these have ever been displayed. They are stored in a large closet in a smoke-free home. First I'll take it in the thread wins! Returns accepted within 10 days of receipt in the same condition, but return shipping is on you. No probations... I will ship in secure boxes, and to US and Canada only, but you will have to pay the extra postage to Canada. Postage is $15, to include secure packing and delivery confirmed shipping. If you purchase more that one Bowen, additional items will be $10 for shipping, as many of these are larger boxes. If it's a smaller box, I'll reduce the combined shipping. Payment can be made via check (must clear before I ship), money order, or PayPal. Let me know if you have any questions! I hope I got this right. I've bought a ton of comics and items over the years on the boards, but I don't think I've sold anything here. I wanted to start here before heading to eBay as I want real collectors to have a first crack at these. Thank you for looking, and have a great day. V/R, Mike
  15. I will definitely continue grabbing an occasional reprint book or Masterworks of my Spider-Man series, but that's probably it. And trying to sell even a relatively smaller collection of a couple thousand books will take time to get a decent prices. I'm pretty busy, so setting up sales on eBay or the forum will be hard for me to do. Slow and steady...
  16. I assume you're a vet or active duty...thank you for your service. 28 years in USAF for me...
  17. Sounds like a good strategy! I have found through the years that I have been very good at picking high grade raw copies, that and I use reputable graders like Bob S. That's allowed me to cover my expenses and even make a little on some incredible books. Good luck with your new strategy!
  18. Yes, I've been frustrated by that as well. I always enjoyed pretty MJ and Gwen, but today things are getting crazy. I'll take the 60's thru 80's any day! Just me...
  19. I may come back. but not as fast as Krammer did in that episode!
  20. Enjoy, Bob! You helped me buy my home with all of the books you sold for me!
  21. Yep...makes it really tough, but that's how my brain is wired as well!
  22. Yes it is. The numbers are crazy. Helps make the decision easier for sure.
  23. Thank you all for your comments. Obviously, we all approach collecting in our own way. This is what's right for me. I will keep some items that are really meaningful to me, and I will always have a warm spot for Spidey. It's just hard to see so much money in my closet that can benefit my family and other priorities. Also, I have a real concern about leaving thousands of comics for my family to deal with should something happen to me. If money was no issue, I would keep going, but I think this will be best. I may change my mind and decide to get back in, and then I'll assess what' affordable and fun for me going forward. My kids still want to hit an occasional comic show, and I'm good with that! Again, thank you for your comments, and best of luck with your collections! Definitely buy what you love, and enjoy your collection. V/R, Mike
  24. Yes, I have decided to get out of comics. I have collected since I was a kid, and I took a long break through high school and college, but I'm calling it quits. For me, the joy of comics was it brought me back to the childhood feeling of joy and wonder at the coolness of being a superhero. Early on, I loved Captain America and Daredevil, and then I really focused on Spider-Man. I have enjoyed collecting Spider-Man comics for several decades now. At one point, I sold off a bunch of my best books to help buy our home. It was a tough decision, but it helped us get into a wonderful home we live in now. I started back into replacing some of those books, but the prices have really made that difficult. As a collector who really prefers high-grade copies, that's become impossible with the current prices, at least for me. So I changed my focus, and I went after Conan and Swamp Thing, two of my long likes but not passions. I picked up a set of the Swamp Thing from 1-11 in NM or better, and I picked up most of the early Conan's through 100. I used to buy the Conan's off the shelf when I was a kid, so I have some high-grade issues I hand-picked myself. Now, my energy and my focus is coming back to my family and other things. For me personally, I can't justify spending thousands of dollars for slabbed copies that have skyrocketed in value in recent years. I will be selling off most of my collection, and I know it will be a pain and a ton of work. The slabbed copies are easy, but I have many boxes of high-grade but unslabbed comics. Some are probably junk, like full sets of all of the Spider-Man series up through the 80's, 90's, 00's. They have value to Spidey collectors, but not much real value. Plus I have lots of mini statues, other statues, and other collectibles. I will keep some cool items that mean a lot to me, as I will always have a soft spart in my heart for Spider-Man. Good luck to many of you I have purchased books from over the years. I appreciate your help along the way, and I hope you have continued joy from your collecting. V/R, Mike
