  1. Almost all independent comics start with a ground swell... This book is no different...
  2. just got a 9.9 and 9.8 blue label graded today. I had never seen the 2ND EDITION stamped one before! Very cool!
  3. I cant read through this entire thread, but both are prints that Tony sells at shows or has sold at shows. You will notice they do not say Walking Dead anywhere on them. Just an FYI and still cool!
  4. I am friends with the creator and had to pick it up right away. It is one of the best books on the market...hands down. Love this book and everything Jeff does! (also a big Mahnke fan!)
  5. where were you trying to get it from? Mark Hay, his art rep
  6. I am currently working with a company called GeekBox that is producing UV blocking mountable display cases. They can it up to 16 slabs showing 4 at a time and the case can be locked. The price is very affordable. I believe before shipping it is around $80. We are also working on getting CGC behind this by being able to use the CGC name officially with the product. I think it is great to see people working to put out items to display CGC books!
  7. I just tried to buy the Variant cover art to WD #75... sadly I believe I was a day late (for all I know several months), but not a dollar short... sigh... So did anyone pick it up?
  8. That is an amazing piece... jaw hits floor...
  9. As long as you keep your crown safely tucked away. cool we are cliquing again! Team JJ represent! Knew it wouldn't be long!
  10. People are hardly "bashing every aspect of it." Has anyone bashed Jeremy, the story, or the art? Seems to me there's only one aspect upon which some of us are harping. And feigning an air of hurt feelings doesn't change that. But I can take a thinly-veiled hint, so I'll take my leave from this thread. I don't see where there was bashing either. Some prodding in an attempt to understand the hoopla yes. Seems to me the discussion revealed that there is an actual 1st print so from my perspective well worth the time. A few people have really invested in this and the question is....why? A possible fellow investor tends to ask such questions Then I was wrong, clearly you guys were just trying to flesh out if it was a good investment. If you want my advice, grab a later edition print and check it out. Could be a good start to making a choice for a stance on the book. Are we cliquing again everyone? I want to be on Brangets team if we are, I <3 Jeff...
  11. back from MN con... A few random thoughts... Yes, we were told by Jeremy that there were only 5, maybe he was mistaken at the time. I am sure it was not his top priority to count out how many mistakes he made or had (working with creators they tend to not dwell on that, just producing books and selling copies). Could there be more now that 7 more were discovered. I suppose there could be. I did get a message from someone stating that 12 is a lot. Actually it isn't. Yes it went from 5 to 12, but did not go from 1000 to 2000. Supply, meet demand. Sounds like Julio is not letting his copies go and is holding, so that can account for something also. CPG seems to be an interesting book from all accounts. On one side you have people that are against the prices it is garnering, even though you have several people buying them, all different people. In the middle there are the people that are interested in reading but do not want to pay the prices, therefore there are multiple printings. And on the other side you have people selling to meet what the market will pay. Seems like basic economics to me. I did have someone interested in purchasing my other no title and has since passed once more came to the surface. In reality it was not something that bothered me, as I have no problem hanging onto it either. I hope the book continues to sell in all printings and think it is pretty cool that people are excited about it, just like it is nice to see people excited about Walking Dead, or Locke & Key or even Green Lantern. Nice to see some fresh talent in the pool! The Minnesota show had Cursed Pirate Girl on the wall, but only 2nd and 3rd prints. That also has to speak volumes of the noteriety that book is receiving. Maybe some people need to check out other threads that feel more at home to you. This thread appears to be started by someone who was interested in dicussing CPG and there are a few people in here that seem to be really excited about collecting it. Bashing on every aspect of it really seems hurtful. There are a few people that have really invested a lot into this book and support it. Good luck to all collecting and thanks to a board member that picked up a print for me at Motor City, can't wait to see it!!!
  12. If TJ had mashed potatoes on his beard, I would eat them... just sayin... that is how much I love this thread... can we get an image of that please?
  13. complaining about people selling books for too much? Are these MadLibs? Everyone join in!
  14. Nope. Yup! How is it I have 10 copies in my shopping cart, then? No idea, contact them and ask? I guess based on that knowledge I would tell everyone to order them up and see what happens. Maybe some will sneak through? Just to clear this up for everyone, here is a screenshot of a reply email I received today: Got it? If you want Ye Old Lore of Yore, buy it from Comixpress for $3. http://www.comixpress.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=223 You WILL receive your copy. Don't fret that you have to be lucky that yours will "sneak through." I just 'fret' that you concern yourself with it...you better hope I don't stumble into Maxx books anytime soon Was contacted by customer service FINALLY after the messages in this post between TJ and myself. They have had a problem with their server or some such thing and are finally getting back to people that ordered last month. Order away everyone!!! Lets get this baby up to X-Force #1s fast!!!
  15. We need a FAQ section for this thread, because this keeps coming up. A while back someone asked this question in the Walking Dead #1 Club thread. I posted the following that summarizes the debate pretty well. or you can believe that the general public (actual buyers) are not buying into the hype, because there is no actual proof of which one has a lower print run. I think the book is high dollar enough that black or white warning seems to have no effect on the value in general terms. I think Michael Jackson sang it best...
  16. just the 3 issues I believe it is to be 6 issues, with this the first arc...
  17. Nope. Yup! How is it I have 10 copies in my shopping cart, then? No idea, contact them and ask? I guess based on that knowledge I would tell everyone to order them up and see what happens. Maybe some will sneak through? Hmmm. I did place an order for that book, from comixpress, on May 3rd. It still states in the order status that it is "received." I guess we should know shortly, it's been over a week since I placed the order. I guess they are in stock, so should be soon?
  18. You are correct sir. Has that ever hit the marketplace, like Thorn: Tales from the Lantern? Jerel, I have yet to see one of the college Voices from the University they attended. Would be really cool to see one though... would love to see a Thorn: Tales from the Lantern in hand also!!
  19. Please post a pic when they arrive TJ! You ordered 10 right?
  20. Nope. Yup! How is it I have 10 copies in my shopping cart, then? No idea, contact them and ask? I guess based on that knowledge I would tell everyone to order them up and see what happens. Maybe some will sneak through?
  21. but regardless of in stock or out, I don't think it would be considered the first appearance based on all accounts of how the creator wanted to change things. Maybe like a Monster Boy from Best Cellars? or the Prototype Hellboy on Dime Press?
