  4. You think me ignant...I know that is French for Ronnie James Dio...
  5. up for trade or offers X-Men 214 CGC SS 9.8 signed by BWS & Claremont
  6. Figured I would put this up and see what comes of it... looking for other legendary creator sketch covers, even modern creators who are tough for sketches... PM me if you have something I might want...
  7. How long is this series supposed to run? 25 issues?
  8. sadly boys, I bought the 9.9 WDs from Dre a few days ago...
  9. What a mess of a situation all-around. After reading this again, 2 years is way too long for any transaction when the seller and the buyer can forget if the item was paid for or not. Nobody gets off clean on this one. JJ, did you post pictures of the artwork when you sold it? If so, I think what happened here is any buyer would assume the item(s) were in-hand and ready to be shipped. The Ill Take It was popped and I was asked to hold off on payment until some money was paid to Alex from other deals. Several months went between the art being 'purchased' and the art going back into what I can only assume is the art pile that I swapped out at Doug's studio. Doug has thousands of pages, and unfortunately I must have put it back into the art that I returned to the studio, as Doug and I do not like to have all of the art in 1 location, but prefer it in more than one to safeguard it. As far as your comment on no one gets off clean, I don't believe anyone is getting off clean? Would you prefer I go on the Probation List for my transgression or Alex for not paying for the art? Which one would be better? Both? Alex and I both know this has been a mess since the beginning. Neither of us (I believe) claims either party had no fault in this. I appreciate all the detective work from people, but not sure a smoking gun will be found. Alex posted all information he had and as far as I know (aside from my comments, which I decided to delete as it gets no one anywhere unless you want to watch car wreck ) it looks for the most part factual when quoting my comments (obviously I might not agree with all his thoughts on my comments). Again, Alex best of luck, sorry it did not work out the way it should have. Although the friendship has deteriorated, I wish you nothing but the best.
  10. I should really think about trading more often, you guys have some killer sketches and books in this thread...just wow...
  11. I looked, not in my account that I can find, but I think it best to have both parties look and I want for Alex to also check if payment was made.
  12. Never said that David, neither you or I or Bosco or anyone is exempt. We all have to be judged. If the judgement is that I need to be placed on the Probation Thread, then so be it. I have made my point on the issue and the point is that I have tried to work with Alex and have long considered him a friend. I don't believe he needs to be thrown under the bus, but I am not one to be backed into a corner. Was this a mess from the outset, yes. I feel bad about it and want to and have tried to do what I can (even if that means that I have not yet produced anything for Alex). I still stand by my word that if the art is found it is his. I hope that the next time I am at the studio I will have the chance again to look. I know personally that if I was hoping for a piece of art and had it set aside for purchase and was not able to complete that transaction I would be upset also. But that said, if the person on the other side of the table was trying to work it out, personally I can live with a mistake. What irks me to no end is that I have tried and as anyone can plainly see by the PM I posted earlier in this thread have tried and offered to resolve this problem as best as possible given all the circumstances. As it stands the ball has been in the other parties court for over a month now with no reply to this issue. As far as I am concerned this is now a dead issue unless a PP transaction can be produced to me via PM that we can sort out. If that is the case, I will again as stated earlier, send a refund in full asap. If the art is found (fingers crossed) I will, as stated earlier, mail it out to him at no cost. I have worked very hard to build a good if not fantastic reputation on the boards for sales and feel it is being soiled when it could have been taken care of privately with a refund and again, my apologies. I will stand by my word that I am done with any future dealings with Alex. He is a great guy and a person I have long considered a friend, but the public damage is done.
  13. Wait, I am not understanding and remember, you decided to bring this out into the open without replying to my PM as shown above: Did you pay for the art? You are stating in the above you are not even sure you paid for it and would feel bad getting a refund for something you did not pay for? I have tried Alex and to be honest, it has been nothing but sour grapes when you were not included in the SSD situation where you named me an elitist. I had 3 people call me when you posted this and all 3 told me you were upset over not being included in the Sam Kieth signing. Whether that is true or not, I find you not being able to accept a refund odd and to keep banging on a book that you have not paid for, for 5 months odd also. I have always remained that we are friends and if we want to pull out every PM where I have offered a solution let me know. I haven't looked but I would bet I have tried. You are throwing me under the bus with some pretty odd circumstances. I defend my position again by stating that I would be happy to refund (now in question) and would of course send you the art when I was up at the studio again (which I have looked for before). Please make sure not to stop by and chat with me at the next Toronto show, in fact, I wouldn't be suprised if we just take Toronto off the list.
  14. Until I get a reply from Alex concerning what I have offered in PM from the last time I offered to sort this out, I will not even consider this a matter. As once he does reply to me concerning it, it will be resolved. There has been plenty of history concerning this page between Alex and I, with all good intentions on both sides. But for those that are concerned about this and believe me I am a full backer on the probation list and what it stands for, here is the last PM reply: #2392019 - 11/09/10 05:15 PM Re: This is the page jonjesper jonjesper WWJJD TOTAL NEWBIE Registered: 07/18/05 Posts: 12610 Loc: Future Headquarters of CGC Alex, Let me know the price on the Mahnke page and I will refund it. As far as the Stumptown book, do you remember the price on the sketchbook? I can ship it whenever you like, just pay for the book and shipping or I can minus it from the art price. If I find the page that Doug has (he has to have it) I can just mail it out to you for free. Not much more I can do right now with the art not being here and being at Doug's studio amongst thousands of pages. If you need to put me on the probation list, I totally understand on the art side, I think it has been long enough, but I am out of options on getting it to you and I apologize for that
  15. The logical assumption is that he told Rick exactly my thoughts, or he might have told him that I was alive in South Dakota... or maybe he knows who the 'others' are from LOST? but yeah...Bradley is right on the money...
  16. I like this idea, maybe we can set one up for C2E2? I know I am going to be set up at the show and we know the lobby area for the show (if held in the same location is MASSIVE), maybe we can just set up a meeting area after the show and bring some books to see what people are interested in for trading?
  17. As Jeff knows, one of my favorites also, it just is a classic IMO and the best of the first 4...again IMO...
  18. And I think that is what I've been struggling with. I firmly believe I'd like the show more if I weren't a fan of the source material. And it sucks to say that. Pray to God the Goon movie never gets made...
  19. I liked that scene. I also liked that scene. For people that are unfamiliar with the source material it was how they established an emotional connection to these two characters. For my wife who has no idea who these people are it was an important scene. Without that scene her death would have been meaningless. Now if you have a problem with how the dialogue was written I can understand that. I thought it was also acted well by the two of them. My only problem with the scene....she was cradling her sister's head and then proceeded to put a bullet in it, and not blow her own hand off... small details (thumbs u I think the hose on the Winnebago would be a bigger detail, but I just assumed they got a hose at the gas station they were checking out?
  20. I am watching The Godfather, you should check it out, such a great movie...
