  1. Big Kudos to.... mrlatko for being a great buyer ft88 for a couple of Giant JLA books to add to my growing DC Giants collections pickycollector for what I know are going to be some fantastic Gigantic Strange Adventures among others books. Its been a pleasure, gentlemen.
  2. WHAT legal risk? The only legal risk I've seen pointed out so far is people assuming that the PayPal terms of service somehow apply to CGC, which they don't. And even if they did, it doesn't matter, because it's the seller whose PayPal account would get shut down. Anybody know where the explanation Architect gave for this move is? Link, thread title, or which forum it was in would help find it. I did a 3-month search for the phrase "paypal" in messages by Architecht and found nothing. Frankly I dont care about a legal risk. I am concerned about covering my . If I use Paypal personal payment to buy something from you than I am not protected if the deal goes south. I will risk it on small amount purchase and if I get screwed...no more dealing with that person. On larger dollar amount purchases I will pay normally or I won't buy. Who cares what CGC requires...I am following my own guidelines and any smart buyer would do the same. In turn I never require or ask for paypal personal...just paypal. I gladly pay the convenience fee.
  3. I really don't think they said you can't use the personal option. What they said was you can not ask someone to pay you in that way. Why is everyone making this hard. Just stop advertising it and everyone will keep using it anyway True. Then its only a violation of paypal policy.
  4. This board is full of shifty farks trying to get over on someone. I didn't really have a problem with using paypal personal for board transactions as I figured sooner or later Paypal would halt the practice and, for the most part, I trust the people I buy from on these boards. That trust is quickly eroding after the last few days and weeks of questionable behavior displayed. I for one will not use the Personal Payment option for board transactions anymore as it is now a violation of the boards policy. Its all in my sig line.
  5. What a bizarre cover! Whats bizarre about a guy in red speedos, with his ankles and wrists bound in iron biting the head of a cobra? I see that on a regular basis where I live. It usually requires a credit card and age verification too.
  6. So ... flaking on a transaction is all fine & well as long as the seller finds a different buyer at some point? No, it is reasonable to put him on the list. The purpose of the Probation List is to out the person and repair the damage. How can dhurley get off the probation list? I got a PM from him - I replied and said that if he bought the un-sold books that he committed to previously, I'd cancel my request to get him added to the probation list. So you were able to come up with an alternate solution. Its what civilized men do. Weigh the damages before you decide its a grievous injustice and lynch the dude is all Im saying. Too many hardasses on these boards.
  7. Sounds to me like this situation can probably best be handled between the two parties and leave the probation thread out of it. It seems a not so eqregious fail to me.
  8. So I moved to another room in the house and Im very happy with it so far. Its not complete as I still have plenty of room for art on the wall as you can see in the last pic. The new reading chair is a gift from the wife.
  9. Everything Marvel in my collections is up for grabs. I will begin posting every Marvel book I own (Doctor Strange being the exception) for sale until its either sold or I get sick of selling stuff. Tonight I will begin with the letters A-F All Marvel, All bronze and Copper, and all RAW
  10. Sweet Warlord, very nice book. You just submitted one book? Yep...so that I could have it framed with the cover OA I purchased. I dont really collect slabs but wanted this one done as Grell fan in general.
  11. My first ever submission and Im a happy camper.
  12. I would like to give a big thanks to Rich Henn for getting me what amounts to one of my coolest collectibles ever. Just got this in today after such a long wait.... This was done to go along with the OA I bought from Mike Grell... I am so pleased and I believe I will be pursuing more SS books in the future.
  13. Picked up more books from a guy liquidating his collection. Picked these up today along with a complete run of Dr. Strange v.2 plus the Giant Size and Annual.
  14. I am woefully behind on my Kudos (and shipping...darn holidays). The following all require large amounts of KUDOS for various reasons. Comicsarefun Moonlite, for a great set of Golden Age Gerbers Campued1010 JohnT gcstomp shark2557 CD4ever unmovedmover Junkenstein99 All for purchases from me and for great books I have been able to add to my collection. Im sure I have some I have missed...Ill try to remedy that soon.
  15. I believe that's what JJ was thinking, but it's between him and Jason, it's not for us to say. He has every right to keep the deposit on a deal that was structured to protect himself from a deadbeat buyer. I'm going throu a divorce JJ and Jason were told about it and told me to take my time. I paid off Jason to day, And have talked to JJ as well. I didn't know this was going on. To busy with lawers and stuff & now am getting my self back in order. I'm sorry to any one I caused a problem too. I just found out I wasn't allowed to post, so I can pay JJ off. So if we can take care of this problem, I can post some comics so I can sell them. If not I'll put them on ebay were I have a rating of 7653 and 100% postive feedback. And a top rated seller. I don't rip people off I'm just went throu a bad divorce, And starting to get my self back on my feet. Any thing I can do to help drop me a line. Vin Vin Ebay may be your only option at the moment.
  16. I think Im sticking to raw books from now on. Gonna use my slabs for gifts. screw this.
  17. So the upcoming Deadpool flick is a Romantic Comedy? Let me get the wife and drop the kid off at the baby sitters...Im getting LUCKY!!!!
  18. In other words....don't bang your head against a brick wall.
  19. Hey! Don't take 'em all before I get down there! We're still planning on moving to the Oklahoma City area next spring. We will have a cookout at my place when you arrive. Springtime in Oklahoma is nice. Also got my first set of Gerbers Marvel photo-journals. Got them off Half.com for $10 bucks each.
  20. Picked up almost complete runs of Werewolf by Night and Tomb of Dracula including the ones here. WWBN is complete up to issue 32 and TOD contained 2 copies of issue #10. Also got a complete run of The Champions. Got a really great price and I am going back for more to add to my collection.
  21. The buyer can spend his monry how he sees fit and the seller can revel in his good fortune. Im still gonna clown the buyer for spending that much on a subjective opinion.
  22. Please don't blame Canada. If Branget's dates are correct he waited more than a month and a half and the books hadn't been shipped. Customs and Canada Post can't be blamed for this. It is painful waiting for overdue books and wondering if they've been stolen or missing. I do agree that a person shouldn't go on the probation list for transactions outside of the boards. Regardless, if the books are on the way this should be easy to resolve. The book is 100% on the way, no questions about that. The problem I have right now is the transaction was strickly on e-bay. The buyer, who is also a board memeber, approached me on the forum and asked questions about the shipment. The questions were answered, and the book was shipped. Now I'm being faulted for an issue that is totally unrelated to the sales forum, the book wasn't even posted on the Sales/E-bay Link. Anyone who's bought a book from me knows that I'm 100% honest and professional. When HE gets the book, I'm sure things will be solved. If he DID get a refund from his Credit Card, then he'll win either way cause HE will have the book, plus the $$ that he paid for. Perhaps but there has been precedent set with others added to the Probation list for transactions off the board. ComicSupply comes to mind. Should this be in contention we will need to remove ComicSupply in order to not seem hypocritical and maybe some others. I would also take your argument that it was off the boards as specious. A transaction between boardies certainly qualifies in my eye since we allow advertising to Ebay auctions as well in the forums. Are you being facetious? I mean, really? ComicSupply solicited his sales here. He was a dirtball from day 1 and everyone seemed to forgive and forget. Forgive and forget MULTIPLE times. Surely you jest. The fact that we allow advertising to other sites...including Ebay seems to me to be enough of a reason. Oh wait...let me add the obligatory..... Your turn, smartass David, I have to agree with Dice on this one. You're basically saying that anytime a board member sells anything on eBay and the buyer just happens to be another board member, and if there's some kind of problem with the transaction (whatever it may be), that the buyer can come on here, bash the seller and add the seller to the forum probation list. I don't think so. Perhaps its an extreme position and Im willing to concede to the majority. Ebay is certainly the best place to file the grievance in this situation. However, I still think there has been precedence for this in the past and it might be best to just clarify the rule as opposed to arguing about something that is likely going to be cleared up in a few days anyway.
