  1. Not yet. If you can just give him a heads up he has some buyers that want to resolve the situation, it appreciated. Thanks! Careful. The boy is a minor. I would stick to contact via the boards unless there is a relationship with the parents or otherwise legally responsible party.
  2. Kudos to... ft88 and mkeyriffhard for a couple of smooth transactions. Thanks for the books!
  3. After looking at these rooms I have determined that I am not a collector. I am a shadow pretending to be a collector.
  4. Gonna try to turn some books into cash so I can buy more original comic art. So Ill be having a sale thread up in Misc. soon containing the following..... Raw CA-MA Uncanny X-Men, DC Ghosts (Mostly Bronze-Copper), Jonah Hex and plenty of Miscellaneous books and items. Look for it tonight about 8 pm central.
  5. You just couldn't leave well enough alone could you? I will not be labeled a slanderous individual. Here is my original post asking that you be placed on probation. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=80&Number=2653826&Searchpage=11&Main=91354&Words=Shootydog&topic=0&Search=true#Post2653826 You would do well to just leave this matter to rest.
  6. I don't think you're being put on probation... fine, honestly I was only trying to make right with you, whether I got these books or not was not as important as I was trying to get square with you, but obviously circumstances and adversity are not in your vocabulary. It's really not this deep, but I'm sorry that I make you upset. Boy I really could take this statement and tear it apart but I am just gonna leave it for the boards to decide. I wont belabor this topic anymore so Im moving on. Lets just agree to disagree and forget it.
  7. As seller, that is entirely your prerogative though time and $$$ heals all wounds. Perhaps...here is how I see it now. He refuses to pay me for more than 6 months. I decide to put him on probation like most anyone here would. He ups and wants to pay me for them 7 months later and still delays payment past the time he said he would pay me this time around. I close the deal out thinking a zebra never changes their stripes. Now I risk being placed on probation. I don't think he should be removed but thats entirely up to board consensus. I don't think i should be placed on probation for taking this stance...but thats also entirely up to board consensus. Either way...I'm not taking his money and I'm not sending him any books. Final.
  8. Take him off the list if you want. Hes not getting the books from me.
  9. As far as I am concenred Dbostejano will stay on the list indefinitely. He is on the list due to a deal he didnt complete with me. Havent heard from him since then. Yesterday, out of the blue, he offers...no..TELLS me that he is going to send me the money via paypal by end of day and I can "send the books" or make some other arrangement. I reluctantly agree. No payment by end of day or as of this morning. I dont care if he wants the books or not...I dont like getting jerked around for a second time All this tells me is that he is not worthy of any trust and likely never will be. I refuse to have anything else to do with im. Hes not getting the books.
  10. Lets take a hypothetical situation....if someone is on the probation list is the the probation-er expected to make amends later should the probation-y ask for a chance at absolution? Or can it be considered probation in perpetuity?
  11. Regardless, this is not an issue that warrants being placed on probation. Let the colorful pieces of paper go, cuz man...its gone.
  12. Mike, I've always been a big fan of the series and have all of the tpb's. What does the "Absolute" offer ?? Sketches, or -script content? From the product description for Volume #1 "...the complete original Sandman Proposal, a gallery of character designs from Gaiman and the artists who originated the look of the Sandman, and the original -script to the World Fantasy Award-winning THE SANDMAN #19, "A Midsummer Night’s Dream," together with reproductions of the issue’s original pencils by Charles Vess. Also included are a new introduction by DC’s president Paul Levitz and a new afterword by Gaiman." I happen to be reading Volume 1 at the moment and its gorgeous. A great way to have a fantastic collection of stories by Neil Gaiman (American Gods is amazing) in a pleasing format.
  13. For as long as I can remember I have been a huge Mike Grell fan and knew that someday I would purchase an original piece. I finally bit the bullet and bought my first piece. I cant wait to get it properly framed. I took the image from the website (hope they dont mind) and I will replace with my own scan once I have the chance.
  14. Finally got my first OA pieces scanned. Here is my complete collection so far. I look forward to spending much money in the future.
  15. Arent you supposed to give at least 30 days anyway before "outing" in this forum?
  16. Starting Friday evening I will be posting much Bronze to be had on the cheap. Some readers but most will be in the VF or better range. I want to liquidate as much as I can so look for great prices.
  17. So I hate to do this but someone has given me the runaround. Dbostejano agreed to purchase some books. We agree to wait on purchasing until he sees my next thread. Thread goes up August 16th. No further purchases by Dbostejano. On Sept. 2nd I send a PM asking if he was still planning on purchasing the books. In that exchange I let him know that I believe he isn't purchasing the books becaause he hasn't paid me and hes still buying from others. He then states the following.... "I'm sorry shooty, I'm in Houston and we just went through Hurricane Ike, I was in Mexico City for a week then I had to come back emergency due to the Hurricane. I'm just getting around to this site and ebay. My apologies, if you still have the book please let me know. " I let him know and after further discussion we agree that he still wants the books and due to the extreme weather conditions I will give til the end of the month for payment at his request. its the end of the month and no payment. Furthermore he is purchasing books on the forum this very past week. Dbostejanos latest purchase. At the moment I am no longer selling the books to Dbostejano but I feel it necessary to make this exchange known to the forum.
  18. Big Kudos to Flaming_Telepath for a fantastic stack of Weird Western Tales and All Star Western #11. Additional kudos for putting up with my impatient inquiries while the books were in transit. A+++ Would do business with again!! (thumbs u
  19. Look...just quit posting *spoon* just because you feel like it. Post if you have content that can sustain a conversation. If you just post a topic by merely vomiting words upon the forum and up your post count than STOP. *spoon*, It's annoying. /Postcount++ //seriously
  20. All I can say is that a significant majority of the people on the Probation List seem to be "board members" that have never participated in the Boards in any meaningful way. In my mind, they`re not even board members. The whole benefit of buying and selling to board members is that there`s supposed to be a sense of community and people wouldn`t want to do a bad deal for fear of harming their reputation in this community. But that harm to reputation means nothing to people who aren`t, and never were, a part of this community. Personally, everytime someone puts a name on probation that I never even heard of, I just wonder why they even tried to do a deal with that person in the first place. They might as well be doing a deal with some anonymous person on eBay or in the classifieds, and should be prepared to take the risks accordingly. But isnt everyone a first time seller in the marketplace at one time or another? Someone has to take a chance on them sooner or later. Its like trying to get your first line of credit...noone will risk you because you have no established credit....but thats what your trying to do. If post count were the deciding factor anyone can pull the same that goes on around and here already with established members and post nothing but gremlins for days on end. We should continue to police the threads as we have. Bad deals reported and summarily those people are avoided. Its worked so far I see no reason to change it.
  21. Lucky One by Allison Krauss and Union Station If you have eclectic tastes but have never sampled her music I would ask you to check this video out and some of the others. I would highly recommend you check out her recent collaboration with Robert Plant. Amazing stuff. She has the voice of an angel.
  22. Live shows I have attended. Putting the memory to test. Steve Miller Band (who hasnt?) Was at the Zoo amphitheater here in OKC. I remember this girl dancing in front of me. Couldn't keep my eyes off her. Mesmerizing. My friend kept pushing me to go talk to her. I wussed out. I kick myself to this day. Crosby Still and Nash (no Young) Heart (Acoustic Dreamboat Annie....I swooned) Jethro Tull (Great show....not Heavy metal) Robert Plant (Just Robert...great show) Journey (Raised on Radio....Glass Tiger opened) Beck (Atari Teenage Riot opened...ears ruined. Beck was awesome) Bush (No Doubt opened....first I had ever heard of them. Great show) Show I loved the most was seeing David Bowie at the Dallas metroplex. Drove down for the show and drove back that night. Huge David Bowie fan and the weather was gorgeous and the girl I took with me was too. That was a great night. Nostalgia hitting me hard tonight.
  23. Next chance I get I am seeing Allison Krauss live. I would really love to see Lyle Lovett live as well. Would also love to see Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Rush and Joe Satriani live.
