  1. That’s not a 9.8! Agreed. It's either a labeling error or the grader needs to be retrained. Definitely not a 9.8
  2. I guess it's a good thing you didn't succeed in destroying CGC because then you wouldn't have the privilege of posting on their boards.
  3. do it a few more times and it'll become a tree. Fact. The circle of life is complete
  4. Too many noobs make the mistake of assuming everything needs to be pressed. This is one of the unfortunate effects of widespread pressing acceptance. Not enough people question the need. Pressed and cleaned. People are cleaning books that were printed yesterday. I know. It's insanity
  5. Or think their books are pristine 9.8s+ For me though, I have everything pressed at least three times, rinsed and pressed once more. And always, always use color-safe bleach. I get high grades and the whitest pages. I once pressed a comic so many times, it became a single sheet of paper. Lesson learned

  7. Can't remove a revenue stream now, c'mon man! This is we're talking about here. On the other hand they could build the cost of grader's notes into the overall submission cost. Then it would be essentially invisible to the submitter and no one would gripe about having to "pay" for notes, even though they'd still be paying for them.
  8. I’ve seen a 9.8 with off white pages Have you seen a 9.8 with cream or tan pages? You know, now that I think about it can Cream to OW pages still hit 9.8?
  9. X-Men 134. What Jean Grey does to Jason Wyngarde is pretty frightening when you really think about it. Don't feel any pity for him, he deserved it. https://panels-of-interest.tumblr.com/post/86516147790/phoenix-vs-mastermind-from-the-x-men-1963
  10. I totally agree, but the behaviour of some individuals has been immature, purile and downright beneath the standards of what I would expect from some here. It beggars belief how the mods can bring down the hammer for the most trivial of reasons but choose to ignore certain despicable behaviours because no-one mentions a certain taboo subject. Moderation doesn't police sales. They don't get involved. The members do. That's why we're having this discussion and they aren't.
  11. I don't hate his work but I also don't understand the overwhelming love it gets. As far as Charest is concerned, I no longer care for his 90s stuff very much but his work on Spacegirl is very good >> http://travischarestart.com/spacegirl-vol-1
  12. New slabs? Encase your slabs in concrete. The ultimate in protection
  13. Every time I see Liefeld art I'm tempted to take a scissor to it.
  14. Next thing you know, he will be 'wacking' the book! I gave my comic a pair of cement galoshes. Was that bad?
  15. I figured as much. Typical regulatory BS
  16. They should have put the UPC box on the back cover.
  17. I get why people want to display comics and especially when there is some sentimental or nostalgic value. I still have some of the comics I first had as a child but the idea of slabbing them because I want to display them is an ENORMOUS waste of time and money. There are other, cheaper ways of doing it. This is an instance where a slabbing company is a benefit only to itself. My advice to the OP would be to do whatever you feel good about doing, it's your money. However, keep in mind that there are other ways to display comics without throwing your money away to CGC to accomplish your goal.
  18. That's a good way to waste even more money He should send them in one at a time.
  19. Mine was printed diagonally and out of phase with reality. What does that do to the value?
