Only a year and a half late, I thought someone else would have posted them before and didn’t want to derail thread as they are not Power records. These are the four Marvel ones; The backs are all the same bar the credits.

Available by mail order from Marvel UK in 1970s was a set of 6 posters from Spanish artist Lopez Espi; once again I’m one short - Hulk.

Thanks for the thought. There is one on eBay at moment, but it’s $650, add postage to UK and duty that’s $800 which seems over the odds to me.

And the one that never was. Steranko drew a set of B&W posters for Marvelmania but the club folded before they could be released. The art has subsequently surfaced in various formats, I believe this colourised version of poster was fan produced (although I’m not positive on that);

Marvelmania; This one came with membership kit; These you could buy through the club and adds in the comics; Unfortunately I’m missing the Steranko Cap America, but did Kirby ever do anything better than these posters.

You’re probably aware that the Third Eye posters have been re-released; First set of 12 came out about a year ago and the second set has just been released. A lot more affordable than originals.

Nice. I remember buying that Alan Class Spider-Man v quicksilver on holiday in Cornwall, I think Newquay, (we always went to Cornwall) either 74 or 75? Couldn’t have been any real marvels around so settled with that.

Lovely to see a dissertation on my favourite comic SS #10. As a youngster I’d always had comics starting with playhour which my mum used to buy me to teach me to read. I then mid/late 60s progressed to Lion and read the odd Superman and Superboy comic which were all rather silly but aimed at the age I was then. I tried a few Batman comics after seeing bits of the TV show but the comics were too advanced for me. A few years later for my birthday in 1970 an aunt gave me the 1969 UK Marvel annual; I was enthralled with with stories but I was also fascinated by one illustration on the inside cover, he didn’t look like the other costumed superheros, he was called the Silver Surfer and I knew nothing else about him; Skip forward to 1973 on holiday when I came across the first US Marvels I’d ever seen. I bought Thor 172, 173 and Cap America 122 because I was aware of them from the UK annual and alongside was Silver Surfer 10 - I was about to find out about the character I had been fascinated with for so long. I read the Thor comics and threw them away, I read SS#10 and was hooked. I instantly became a collector, retrieved the Thors from the bin and went back to the gift shop the next day and bought some more. I haven’t stopped collecting since but if it hadn’t been for SS#10 I probably wouldn’t have ever started collecting. I’ve bought and sold SS#10 many times and always take a look at any copies I see for sale, I don’t recall ever seeing a stamped copy. I currently have three copies, my collection copy; “nostalgia box” copy and CGC copy; Many many years ago I even had the image tattooed; I don’t think I’ve added anything to the UK distribution knowledge but have enjoyed reminiscing about SS#10 - a comic which has had an enormous impact on my life.

As Lowgradebronze says above you are probably missing the 14th page (of 16);

Those bags do appear genuine and you wouldn’t do a good mock up to sell for £10. My concern was the 6 month time gap between issues but being bag opened the owner could have mixed up the issues which were included. I have an eBay search for marvel multi mags but somehow missed these. I am surprised as I was actively buying marvels from 1973 and from August 1974 they were readily to be found but I’ve never seen any marvel multi-mags for sale other than cents ones from a dealer or collector.
-
No sadly just noticed them in the solds. Although the bags look genuine I’m not totally convinced - the second lot has cap America, MTU from Feb 1979 but Thor is from July. I can’t imagine UK unsolds would have been returned to US for bagging and I also find it difficult to imagine the bags being printed in UK but perhaps they were.
-
Didn’t expect to find these, looks genuine so I’m going to argue with myself; Marvel Multi-mags Iron Man #124 Two-in-One Thing #47 Power Man #50 VF+ Marvel Multi-mags bag Captain America #230 Team-up Spider-Man #78 Thor #285 VF+ By this time I was buying these comics as they came out in UK, plenty of shops had them but I never ever saw any multi-mags! Any one else? (Three 12p copies for 25p so a decent saving)

I sold mine, grade around FN/VFN, just over a year ago for £250 ish. I imagine Duncan gets a lot of eyes on his listings which boosts his sales above the prices us mere mortals achieve.

Don’t think he even bothered putting them in his price guides.
