  1. Well I guess you don't have to worry about getting kicked out of your parents' basement then. Any one page of that thread has more content than the sum total you've added to this board since day one. Mod? Most people insist I'm a hipster. It's the tophat I guess.... No thanks. Those of us with brains prefer to use them as our spam filters instead of delegating the job to a mindless machine. Have it your way then.
  2. Many of us wish you were. Your posts would be easier to avoid that way. Okay. So then we weren't wrong to presume that you're still in your parent's basement. Well my idea has always been that you post nothing but BS which is why I'm ever so glad to just avoid your posts. But when you insist on going out of your way to draw my attention.... Tell me though, do you ever bother to actually discuss what you like about various comics on this board?
  3. Says the guy who acts like he is a cat. Says the guy who thinks he's in the back of a limo when he admittedly doesn't have two dimes to rub together.
  4. Truth! You can't ask for more than that anyway.
  5. Here are scans of four more of my Famous Monsters of Filmland magazines:
  6. Well we certainly know what he thought of that suggestion!
  7. No it's not "crass". You had the book. It was a nice book. But you resubmitted the book, not because it would make the book any nicer but because you wanted a higher number on the label. If you think many/most of us are going to sympathize with anyone who takes a loss on such outright shenanigans, you're not living in the real world.
  8. Here are scans of five more of my Vampirella magazines:
  9. If the Journey into Mystery 83 had already been graded, why did you need to send it in to be graded again? The crack and resub game - hope for a better grade. Yeah. And he'll get no sympathy from me on that account. Do that, and you better be prepared to lose some of the time. Sure, CGC messed up big time in this instance. So what else is new? That's happened before, and it will happen again. P.S. I edited my original post to make my point very clear while you were responding.
  10. Shame my backside! That's precisely what it was, nothing but a business decision. But guess what? Some of us are fed up to here with those who treat comics as nothing but a business. If you're going to play the crack and resubmit game, you better be prepared to lose some of the time. And don't you come crying to this board to get sympathy. Most of us will just snicker. Admittedly, CGC got it very wrong somewhere this time. Well guess what? You're paying for their subjective opinion. It's going to be wrong, very wrong, a lot of the time. Them's the breaks. The submitter paid for their subjective opinion. He got it, and that's that. CGC makes no warranties other than that they make an unbiased best call. CGC owes the thread starter nothing. The lesson to the rest of us though is to be very careful about overpaying for a slabbed comic because of the number on the label. That number doesn't come down from God. There's a large random element in its assignment, and it's subject to change.
  11. Here are scans of three more of my Mad magazines:
  12. That's not the same Cat-Man character in both comics though. Yes, that it is. Good eye!
  13. No coincidence there. The cover of the Signet paperback was intended as a parody of the movie poster.
  14. That they did! Scads of great artists over the years illustrated the pages of Mad. If you backed me into a corner and forced me to pick one favourite though, it would still have to be Jack Davis.
  15. Julius Schwartz was hardly the only editor to recycle previously used cover concepts. Here Jack Schiff recycled a Rip Hunter cover for another of his titles: And here again he basically duplicated a cover of his Blackhawk title for Detective Comics:
  16. Here are scans of three more of my Mad magazines:
  17. Mmmmmmm, Penguin, Scarecrow and Poison Ivy! So bad ! And I don't even have copies of the last two.
  18. Mad Follies 3 would be the one, but I'm going to have to start trying to track down copies of all three of these titles more aggressively. They're all just so cool!
  19. Oh man, fabulous collection! (thumbs u The ones I personally want the most are from the 1965-66 years because I bought a couple of those taking the 'Hound to boarding school in Kennebunkport, Maine and back. Which of these magazines was published in the fall of 1965 and had sheets of perforated stickers as its insert?
  20. Here are scans of three more of my Mad magazines:
  21. Here are scans of five more of my Vampirella magazines: But I seem to have misplaced/misfiled my #53 though which I thought I owned.
  22. Filling this thread with page after page of blank pictures makes you feel better?
  23. Hey! Those three House of Secrets comics were so cool looking I didn't even notice that they were issues #2, 3 and 4. Great stuff! (thumbs u
