  1. A common theme in comics edited by Jack Schiff. He even created Ultra the Multi-Alien around that theme! Consider. Strange Adventures 181 hit newsstands in August 1965: Barely a month later Ultra was introduced in Mystery in Space 103:
  2. I bought them both some twenty years ago and I don't give a tinker's damn whether the unwashed masses now want to consider either a key or not. Here are the scans:
  3. Similar covers and one of them is a 9.8! I'm more impressed with the Boy's Ranch myself, but it's a very good pairing nonetheless. (thumbs u
  4. Hey! Now why didn't I notice that? And Silver was asleep on the job too!
  5. I disagree. For a 9.2 it looks lousy. It has that really flattened look of a comic that's been either pressed to hard or too often, but I guess CGC doesn't penalize for that.
  6. Here are scans of three more of my Mad magazines:
  7. Wow! Those two are solid, and the rest are nice ones too for their age. (thumbs u
  8. I don't really keep up on such stuff, but right now I think #5 and #6 are OVER-valued. You wouldn't happen to have a low-midgrade 5 or 6 you could sell me, would you? Hey! Those are the two early ones I don't have in my collection either!
  9. Here are three more of mine while we're waiting then:
  10. Great cover to launch the Atom's title! (thumbs u
  11. Here then are three more of mine while we're waiting:
  12. Yes, high grade pre-1965 Flash comics typically fetch over guide. It's very annoying since I still have lots of holes in my collection pre-1963. And that copy you bought has great eye appeal for an 8.0. And there are collectors who still buy the comic, not the label.
  13. Here are scans of a couple of my Giants featuring Supergirl:
  14. Nice comic! I never managed to score a copy of that one as a kid so it always seemed magical and mysterious to me until I finally got a copy some twenty years ago.
  15. Yes you do. You'll get far more enjoyment out of it then, not to mention the delight you'll get from rediscovering old treasures while you're engaged in the organization process. So stop procrastinating, and start on the job today. Mmmmm! Nice White Mountain! (thumbs u
  16. Cool! A Twin Cities pedigree with off-white to white pages!
  17. Lois Lane will be turning over in her grave. The hussies are back - big time:
  18. That's the first time anyone has used that word since Mort Weisinger retired as editor of the Superman titles! In fact, he was the only one keeping the word alive into the sixties.
  19. We've done this before but it's worth repeating: And here's the thread where we did it the first time: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=7472640&fpart=4
  20. I agree! Comics based on the days when kids were allowed to be kids, and not chauffeured around to organized activities and play dates by helicopter parents. (thumbs u
  21. I love the Brownies! It's a classic underappreciated title. Try selling that one to your typical Golden Age collector. Sadly the only Walt Kelly comic I have currently is my Pogo 14: Over time I'd like to get a few more Brownies, Mary Jane and Sniffles as well as Pogo comics.
