  1. Yeah. Relative to their earlier days they've gotten kinda lazy in the last twenty years.
  2. I agree. That's why I'm using the Stones' catalogue of hits over the last fifty plus years as the prime determinant: I Wanna Be Your Man Not Fade Away Tell Me Time Is on My Side It's All Over Now Heart of Stone Little Red Rooster The Last Time Play with Fire (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction Get off of My Cloud As Tears Go By 19th Nervous Breakdown Paint It Black Under My Thumb Lady Jane Mother's Little Helper Have You Seen Your Mother Baby, Standing in the Shadow? 3. While the argument persists, the Beatles packed it in by the end of 1969. Coincidentally that was the same year the Rolling Stones were first introduced with that moniker. The bottom line though is that if you don't show up to play, you can't win the game - and the Rolling Stones have been the ones who have kept on rocking and rolling all these years. Here's one of my favourite film clips of the Stones, and one of the very first rock videos ever made:
  4. No, sorry. That can't be questioned. It's been trademarked at patent offices in all civilized countries. Here's an article on the question though: Neil McCormick - Telegraph
  5. Huh? You have it wrong. The Rolling Stones did not want to go on after James Brown & the Famous Flames because they knew they couldn't top his performance: The Rolling Stones versus James Brown Still, coming on after James Brown & the Famous Flames forced the Rolling Stones to take their stage show up another level which served them well over the years. After all, by the end of the sixties the Stones had become "The World's Greatest Rock and Roll Band".
  6. Here they are performing Sympathy for the Devil on the David Frost Show when Brian Jones was still a member:
  7. That's because the illustration on the back is indeed by Jack Davis! Jack did a lot of work for Topps including backs for baseball and hockey in certain years. And of course he did some fabulous non-sport sets for Topps including these:
  8. Just do what I did. Here are scans of a few more of my Captain Atom comics: 78 79 80 81 82
  9. Here are scans of a few more of the cool Charltons from my collection:
  10. Deuce is the cheerful optimist in our posse. Here are more pictures of Deuce: There's also Ace. He's the biggest and the elder in our posse. He's been in The MAN's employ the longest. He's also generally too haughty to pose for pictures with the rest of us. Here though are a few:
  11. Here are scans of three more of my Showcase comics:
  12. I'd stand in line to see a Metal Men movie! Hopefully Tina would be hot. And who knows, a movie might coax offerings of the five or so Metal Men comics I need out of the closet.
  13. Wow! Cool! You've been busy! Do you know the OO?
  14. Yes, and Marvel was also reeling in the younger reader who was still the bread and butter of the comic market by featuring punch-ups between everybody on every second page. That plus the fact that Stan Lee was drawing in youngsters by making it seem as if the reader was part of what was happening. Here though are scans of a couple more of my Showcase comics:
  15. Oh I agree! The Showcase Space Ranger issues are absolutely brutal to find in high grade, partially because Space Ranger was/is not among DC's more popular series with collectors.
  16. I have quite a few Gump Worsley cards from 1957-58 to 1972-73. Which would you like me to scan? Do you have one where he might possibly look athletic? I have just one, and he looks like Buddy Hackett. The card in which Gump Worsley looks the most athletic is the 1960-61 Topps one: And even that one may leave something to be desired in the athleticism department.
  17. The WOMAN deemed the harness mandatory for Cowboy after he managed to lose two collars with his ID tags within two days! Here I am with a portion of my Halloween haul on 1 November 2012: Unfortunately, The MAN said I had to share with Deuce and Cowboy: I was still eating through my stash a few days later: I couldn't though afford to leave it for long since there were other dangerous predators eager to make short work of my haul:
  18. Here then are a few more pics of me taking inventory of my model kits: I have to watch Cowboy carefully because he always wants to build them! And here I am making sure that the slot cars The MAN has hunted down are up to my quality standards:
  19. Here are scans of my Dan Garret Blue Beetle comics: 1 2 Massachusetts copy 4 5 50 51 52 54
  20. It's already on store shelves and it's priced at $36.95 at my local hobby shop.
