  1. Yes, beautiful, but the placement of that "gun" cracks me up every time I see this cover.
  2. Here are scans of my one cent gum card wrappers from 1959 onward and whatever five cent wrappers I have for comparison's sake: 1959 Topps Funny Valentines 1960 Topps Funny Valentines A A & BC Cliff Richard 1962 Topps Civil War News 1964 Topps Outer Limits
  3. Hmmmm. Maybe we should start an Action Comics 300 Club thread. The issue is certainly popular enough....
  4. Atomic Knights is another fabled Silver Age series that's sadly never been collected and rereleased in Archive form.
  5. Never have I noticed one. I don't believe such a thread exists - yet.
  6. That's because Captain Boomerang is cool, very cool! He's one of Julius Schwartz's greatest creations. Oh don't I know it! I have enormous holes in my Flash collection below #127.
  7. That's what they should all cost of course. There's been too much inflation to keep them at a dime.
  8. Yes, but Supergirl has charms of her own too! Here anyway is my entry to the Action Comics 300 club:
  9. Oh so do I! I agree! I like dealing with Superworld.
  10. Green Lantern #42 followed by Justice League #51. Hmmmmm. Here are the scans: Aesthetically though I'd argue that Atom 19 is the best cover of the three.
  11. That's one of my very favourite issues as well because of the Legion of Substitute Heroes cover. Mmmmmmm, Night Girl!
  12. Here are scans of my oldest one cent gum card wrappers with any of the corresponding five cent wrappers I have for comparison`s sake: 1930's GUM Mickey Mouse 1950 Topps Freedom's War 1950 Topps Bring 'Em Back Alive 1951 Topps Animals of the Zoo 1951 Bowman Jets, Rockets and Spacemen 1956 Topps Flags of the World 1956 Topps Jets 1956 Topps Western Round-Up 1956 Topps Davy Crockett 1957 Topps Hit Stars: 1957 Topps Planes: 1958 Topps TV Westerns: 1958 Topps Zorro
  13. Here are scans of three more of my Aquaman comics:
  14. That looks really good for a 7.5 from what I can see. (thumbs u
  15. Alright then! Here's a scan of the cover of Green Lantern 28: A very solid cover, but I think the concept of the splash page was even better: I think the splash page concept of Green Lantern being thrown back for a loop toward the viewer would have made an even better cover than the actual one used. Julius Schwartz and Gil Kane evidently came around to sharing my opinion as the same concept was soon used for the cover of Green Lantern 33:
  16. Here are scans of four more Strange Adventures comics from my collection:
  17. That's because Ultra the Multi-Alien and Multi-Man are entirely unrelated characters.
  18. Hot or not, it's irrelevant to me. Why would/should I care?
  19. That's a nice, bright copy! I've also found Brave & the Bold 85 tough to uncover in grade. Because of the off-white bar across the top, copies rarely look white, bright and new enough to me.
  20. With Heritage I'm guessing that the previous highs were due to shilling on someone's part to fluff up the market.
  21. Not surprising. I rate that as one of DC's best covers for the entire year of 1962! (thumbs u
