  1. For whatever reason it's the more obscure characters that I always find the most fascinating.
  2. Yes, my mistake. Strange though that Grodd scored not a single cover in the Grodd trilogy in issues #106-108.
  3. Since Jimmy Olsen 29 is such a tough book, can you give us a brief synopsis?
  4. I put in what I thought were "reasonable" bids on the #111, 116, 120, 126, 127 and 133 at the time and scratched my head as I watched my bids being annihilated. In retrospect, I guess I was "right" since the price of these comics has subsequently dropped. I don't know whether to congratulate you or not though. Sure, you sold out near/at the peak, but now you don't have these fabulous comics. How did you feel at the time seeing the prices those Flashes fetched? Were you simply so elated that any bewilderment or surprise you might have felt was suppressed? I keep wondering though whether the buyers were individual collectors positively determined to fill in the remaining holes in their collections, or "investors" thinking they could still flip the comics for an even higher price. If the latter, I don't pity them at all.
  5. Wow! Little Rascals and Rootie Kazootie are two more sadly underappreciated Four Color titles. As a result, they're not often seen. (thumbs u
  6. My favourite character from the Superman line of titles! (thumbs u
  7. So I decided to get some highlights added for a big do this weekend: Do you like them?
  8. Wow! You're right. I never even knew those titles existed.
  9. I remember that a Heritage auction around that time had many different early Flash issues that ended up fetching mind boggling prices. (I just shook my head in amazement at the time.) Were a lot of these yours?
  10. While Showcase 8 has comparatively crude cover art and only has one major Rogue Gallery intro (Captain Cold) while Flash 105 has two (Super Gorilla Grodd and Mirror Master), I'd still prize Showcase 8 more highly than Flash 105 because it's so much more difficult to find.
  11. Here are scans of my next three Flash issues:
  12. Further evidence that one has to be very careful about paying an incredible premium for the "highest graded copy". These things can change. In fact, they're likely to change.
  13. Victory! And it's an old one that we hardly ever see!
  14. Truth! That's been a fundamental underlying principle of my life as well. (thumbs u
  15. Wow! You're clearly a man of wealth and taste. Those two comics are few and far between in any collection. (thumbs u
  16. No, sadly no #28. I remember Motor City Comics had a very nice one priced at $5000 at their annual show around the turn of the century but that just seemed way too much to me at the time....
  17. Host the pictures on Photobucket, ImageShack or some other picture hosting service on the web. Then link to the picture.
  18. Wow! I sure wish my mailman was as good as yours. All I get is bills and death threats.
  19. Russ Heath's Sea Devils covers were sensational and that's one of the very best! (thumbs u
  20. Here are scans of my ten cent Justice League of America comics:
  21. Wow! That's a spectacularly nice grouping of Flash comics! How long have you had those? Did you buy them slabbed or have them slabbed yourself?
  22. Here are scans front and back of a Lois Lane Annual from my collection: And here are scans of a couple more of my Superman 80 Page Giants[/b]:
  23. Cool! Rudolph is the man! (thumbs u
  24. I very much doubt they'll ever make me anything. I don't plan to sell them while alive.
