Yes. I've upgraded many comics in the last forty years. And if it's a comic I had or at least coveted as a kid, I've been delighted to finally score a copy up to my quality standards.

Right you are! Which probably explains why local dealers told me that the Mylites2 which they have are "better".  I see though that Bill Cole Enterprises still has Arklites.
That's why I too prefer the Half-Backs or Thin X-Tenders.

The difference is that equities represent ownership stakes in businesses which produce cash flow, and that cash flow can change over time (mostly grow, over longer time periods).  Same with real estate, same with bonds, etc., so there are formulas for estimating the value of those assets depending on the prevailing interest rate environment, forecasted macro factors, etc.  There’s clear record of what people were willing to pay for Nvidia 11 months ago, or any time period ago, in the stock charts/histories.
Collectibles of all types (artwork, coins, baseball cards, NFTs, etc.) are essentially only worth what people are willing to pay for them, and thus a book/record citing those values is especially relevant, as you can’t value them based on their intrinsic cash flows (there are none).  It helps to always have some sense for the market’s opinion of those assets.

Do you not remember that prior to some year in the 1980's Overstreet listed prices for Good, Fine and Mint condition comics? Few dealers would grade their older comics as Mint, but comics that would be F/VF+ by present standards were cavalierly assigned a grade of NM.

I use Comic Pro Line's bags for anything not "worthy" of a Mylite (because I just can't afford thousands and thousands of Mylites) with E Gerber boards because I really like the CPL bags, random quality control issues aside.  (I'm still working on bagging and boarding everything this way, so I hopefully never have to do it again.)
I'm really not very impressed with the thickness of Half-Backs, although the last two batches I've gotten have felt a lot stiffer and sturdier than previous ones.  I don't think the Comic Pro Line boards are fully buffered, though, which is the only reason I haven't gone with them.  However, I see on their website that they're coated on both sides, and from what I've seen, that type of board usually holds up pretty well over a few years.

Oh wow! A whopping total of 114 comic pics in one post. I wonder if that sets a record for this board?

Are the 100-Page Super Spectaculars a particular specialty of yours?
