  1. Even you recognized that things were getting out of control, wearing on those not directly involved in your battling back and forth. Maybe 5 people cared about the points you made, even less about the EXPOUNDED points. And yes, telling someone who is monopolizing a thread, bringing in fringe topics, rehashed topics, to ease up on the pedal is appropriate. You are a forum bully, no doubt. Yours is the only opinion that counts. It's not surprising there is a Derail Team.
  2. I don't want you to stop posting, I want you to stop repetitive posting of the same concept. It stops becoming "polite conversation" when it is getting beaten into you. You make some good points, and then undermine your progress with your combative style when anyone responds with ideas that vary even an inch from yours. Then you complain that they are trying to derail you, attack you. This thread was pretty much petering out a few pages ago, everyone willing to let it be with what they had said or contributed. Then you came in to restate your "points" because you couldn't bear to let it dissolve slowly, stirring the pot.
  3. I don't see where I asked anyone to change what I can't accept. That's out of the blue, or some wacky interpretation. Unless you mean me asking you stop beating us up with your diatribes. I can even accept those, if they weren't so repetitive, trying to dominate this thread. I suspect I am not the only one who would like to see you let up on the gas pedal.
  4. I don't accept everything that is thrown at me, just not what you are throwing in this thread. So not a winning attitude, not a losing attitude, it's just unimportant. I wouldn't even mention anything about it, except you keep beating this same drum, tired of it. Please stop. Yes, Hannibal was one of those power mover people, like I mentioned. I suspect neither of us is Hannibal.
  5. Yes, stacking crease is more correct than spine roll. I believe spine roll refers to the rotation of the original spine forward or backward, creating a different spine fold than was originally on the comic. Although "stacking crease" may also be a misnomer, because the word crease usually means a hard bending or folding, maybe even removing color. So perhaps a "stacking roll" or "stacking bend". But crease sounds too dramatic for what we see in these cases.
  6. You can put as much lipstick on that pig as you want, but if you say I have a loser's attitude, you are calling me a loser. No two ways about it.
  7. I'm not smearing you, or arguing with you, just stating my opinion. If your "message" is true, for me it falls under "that's the way it is - whatever". If not true, it's conspiracy theory. Either way, it's not something you, I, or anyone can do much about. So it's unimportant. Way down on the list of things that directly affect me, or that are significant concerns to me. Apparently different for you, and that's fine, too. I'm saying life rolls along. Social situations, politics, big business will all evolve to fit ever-changing dynamics. Unless you are one of the power players, you just do your best to navigate the system, and maybe use your vote to elect leaders you believe will push things in a direction that benefits people in general. Please note above that you, who complains about being personally attacked, were quick to call me a loser.
  8. Regarding Point #1, that's conspiracy theory, in my opinion, or "just the way it is" (or has become, deal with it) Regarding points #2 and #3, as Aristotle said in the time of Ancient Greece: They [Young People] have exalted notions, because they have not been humbled by life or learned its necessary limitations; moreover, their hopeful disposition makes them think themselves equal to great things -- and that means having exalted notions. They would always rather do noble deeds than useful ones: Their lives are regulated more by moral feeling than by reasoning -- all their mistakes are in the direction of doing things excessively and vehemently. They overdo everything -- they love too much, hate too much, and the same with everything else. https://proto-knowledge.blogspot.com/2010/11/what-is-wrong-with-young-people-today.html As I said earlier, everything runs its course. Join in, or step aside, or get run over. Your choice.
  9. Please, if you can, put a bunch of books up on 1 post. I want to what you have, but you're flooding my GMail.
  10. If you are referring to spine roll or general waviness, those are pressable defects.
  11. It's rarely available on the desktop either. EBay is just moving away from it, no interest in helping buyers pay less shipping, less net fees to eBay. If you win several auctions, you could request an invoice with combined shipping. But you better have already inquired with the seller as to how that was going to work, how it would be calculated. Otherwise, your idea of combined shipping may be wildly different than the seller's. And after auctions close, you are committed to buying them, unless you reneg completely. Most times now, eBay won't let you put Immediate Payment items into your cart, commit to buy, and request an invoice, like you could in the past. You get messages like Seller Does Not Offer Combined Shipping (even when they do) or Item Is Already On Sale, No Further Discounts Available. And if it does let you Request, again you are trusting the seller to charge a reasonable combined rate, if you didn't check ahead. A workaround is to have the Seller send you offers, that you would accept and get invoiced. If you send the offers, eBay will likely make you add a payment method during the process. As the offers are accepted by the Seller, the card gets charged for each one, foiling the combined shipping. Now the Seller has to do a refund. Better to let the Seller make offers, you accept each one, but don't go to checkout until invoiced. What a bunch of extra hoops and communication to have to go through thanks to greedy eBay.
  12. You wouldn't need a digital camera, except if that was a photo of the film photo you took in 1977, it sure looked good for a photo of a 46 year old photo. And why take a photo at all of a check that had a receipt stub? So that led to the conclusion that it was a today photo of the original check, which also didn't seem right, uncashed for 46 years. And all this precipitated my question, and your ensuing logical explanation.
  13. I guess it could happen. Never saw it in 25 years. Every transaction for me works out to the penny. I do a lot of shipping refunds, even though I am set for combined shipping. Sometimes people don't use the cart, even though instructed to. Or purchase things hours apart, but shipped together. Never a discrepancy.
  14. The seller receives what you pay for shipping, minus the sales fee %. When he refunds part of the shipping, he loses that amount of money, but eBay credits back the fee % on the refunded amount. So there is no direct effect on what the seller receives, comparing if he charged the lower amount originally or higher amount less the refund. It's a non-factor.
  15. After giving the possible scenarios some thought, I believed it was most likely that you still had the original check, since digital cameras were not available to consumers until about 1988. But then I wondered, who doesn't cash a check? I know it's not a high dollar amount, but no one passes up free money. You must have had a premonition that you would need it in the future for this forum moment. I believe @Buzzetta thought you were both around the same age. Apparently not.
  16. I'm curious as to how you have a color copy of a check from 1977. You took a color film photo back then (no digital cameras) or a color scan (were color scanners even available then)? Or you still have the check, never cashed it? Not saying you don't have this, but I genuinely would like to know how. In any case, superb record keeping from 46 years ago.
  17. My "offer" should be completely ignored, not even acknowledged with a decline. And I should be blocked to prevent any further insult.
  18. They must have missed this in the description: Overstreet 2023 FN 6.0 value = $204. CGC census 11/23: 33 in 6.0, 541 higher. The consignor is sure happy.
  19. On these boards, I would think there is only a tiny % of Manga readers to begin with. But I could be surprised to find out there are a lot.
  20. That is a supercool cover. Love his art style, easy to attribute to him at first glance. I suspect all your sale items are going to be high grade, but iirc, you have to include an approximate grade when selling here, according to the forum rules. But I could also be mistaken.
  21. Oops....I must have mis-clicked on one of the upper branches of that menu tree. I copied it over to "the water cooler" forum. I think that's where it belongs.
  22. I'd need a GPS to navigate that. They had the foresight to put the grades on both sides, so you didn't have to look all the way over in one direction from specific defects. Then didn't put the bar in red with captions at the bottom as well the top, for the same convenience. Mr. Inconsistent made this. Who DID make this????
