Wow @The Lions Den 3 811 posts in about 27 months, that's 141 posts per month or 4.7 posts per day !!!! Give this man a medal

Yeah I guess it's a small piece. I generally don't like to get a comic like that but it's not as bad as other deffects.
-
Hey thanks man. Yeah I compared to graded copies and I think it will take a big hit. 4.0 if I'm lucky. Staples are loose.
-
Won't CGC downgrade alot with the missing piece near Dr. Doom's shoulder?
-
I think it might be a 3.0. Staples slightly loose but intact. Spine is intact. General wear on the comic. Slight discoloration on pages. Minor damage on front cover (on Dr. Doom), chunk missing. Thanks for your help

TLC = Clean & Press ? Or generous grader at CGC ? haha
-
Now that I look properly, Yeah the corners on the cover are pretty creased. You are right sir

Staples replaced ?
migmtl76 replied to migmtl76's topic in Comic Book Grading and Restoration Issues
Thanks for your input. The bottom staple has me worried because it looks like the paper around the holes was widdened. Look at the top staple and compare. However on the outside of the book it looks good. -
Hi guys, Someone wants to sell me a nice copy of Avengers #48 but I'm not sure if the staples have been replaced. Here are some pics. Do you think there has been restoration (staples replaced) ? Any experts on restoration here ? Thanks for your help !

I have them at buy it now and make an offer. I haven't tried an auction because I'm afraid it might sell for too low. What would be a good auction strategy you think ? -

I price the FF48 (5.0) SS at 2499 and got zero offers. I sent an offer to watchers at 2299. No response. So probably the sweet spot is asking around $2099 and getting $1999. -

Thanks, this has been a great help for my pricing of FF49. I was offered 1350, I price at 1999, might counter with 1550 (this comes to about 1350 after ebay + paypal fees ) -

On key silver age comics, it's often +50% of normal FMV value. -

I tried to compare on ebay but most sellers overprice Stan Lee's SS in hopes of having some sucker bit.
