  1. Even with all the rain several hundred fans still showed up. Sold just one slab but a bunch of other raws. Looking forward to the next one June 18th.
  2. This Sunday is the return of the Frederick Comic Con. Hours 10 am to 4 pm. Admission I think is $10 or so. Dealers from far and wide setup here and I know several boardies attend the show. Held at the Clarion hotel situated behind the Francis Scott key mall. Convenient to I-70 and I-270. Plenty of other shopping in the area if your significant other are not into comics. Quite a large ballroom jam packed with funny books and an artists alley before you enter the big room. For more info and a dealer list (click on the dealer tab on the site) go to Shoffpromotions.com. Try to make this one as the next one in the area won’t be until the end of July.
  3. Wrapping up today. All dealers had a great show. Looks like we are back here April 30th.
  4. Always a good time. Found a bunch of books last time plus reasonably priced supplies. heard through the grapevine Gene from All-American Comics is coming up from the DC area to do the show. This small but mighty con has books for all budgets.
  5. Looking forward to this Sunday’s show. Found a bunch of good books at the last one. Along with reasonably priced supplies.
  6. Quite a good show last time. Picked up a few books and reasonably priced supplies in the room. Actually two rooms as so many dealers they utilized both ballrooms.
  7. This Sunday the semi annual comic con returns to Frederick Maryland. Sunday November 20th. Hours 10 to 4. Early bird admission of $15 starting at 930 AM. About 5,000 or larger square footage of fun. Vendors from four states with plenty to see and buy. Held at the Clarion hotel which sits behind the Francis Scott Key mall. Convenient to routes 70 and 270. If your significant other is not into comics they can ship the mall as you shop for comics in the room. Quite a dealer line up. shoffpromotions.com is the website for the promoter if you need any additional info. Also click on the dealers tab to see who is setting up. Usually a couple more vendors that he squeezed in last minute don’t make the list. Next show in the area not until March so come on out and join us.
  8. Coming up soon. Looking forward to checking out cool old comics from Gene Carpenter of All-American Comics who is making the trek all the way up from the DC area just for this one day show. Along with the regulars with other cool old comics like Dave, Gary, Derek etc.
  9. Rumor has it that an original owner collection will be at the show. Mostly 70’s Will be missing this one but able to get to Wayne on the 25th.
  10. Thanks to the several hundred buyers who came out today. Who said the economy is in the doldrums? Couldn’t prove it by todays numbers. Looking forward to the next one September 18th. Most dealers signed up again so only three tables left for that.
  11. From Friday to Sunday July 22 to the 24th will be a cards, collectibles and comics show being held at the North Carolina state fairgrounds in Raleigh. Will be inside the huge Kerr Scott building on the fairgrounds. Admission is $5 per day. Over 200 eight foot tables but keep in mind it is mainly cards. Some toys and a few comic dealers. I know that Gene Carpenter of All-American Comics is making the trek from the DC area to meet some of his regulars down there. On the weekends there is usually a flea market outside where I have snagged some books from in the past. Also on the grounds are a row of stores with one of them being a comic book store. The brand spankin new Overstreet price guides will be on sale there at twenty percent off cover price. Also supplies too at very reasonable pricing. Friday is 2-8, Saturday 9-4 and Sunday is 10-4. For more info the promoters website is tidewatercardsandcollectibles.com
  12. Price guides being released on the 20th. Just bad timing for the show. my schedule is packed after they come out so will have some at all shows such as the Philadelphia comic con July 31 and Wayne, NJ August 14.
  13. Time for another comic con in Frederick Maryland. Show us this Sunday July 17th. Hours 10 to 4. Vendors from all over the mid Atlantic region. If I recall there were about 70 eight foot tables at the last show. Plenty to see and buy. Several hundred collectors can attest to the fact this is a great show with great vendors. Speaking of that if you go to the website for the con (Shoffpromotions.com) and click on the dealer tab you can see who is setting up. Usually not updated there are sometimes more then that with last minute sellers signing up. held at the Clarion Inn, 5400 holiday drive, Frederick Maryland. The landmark to use would be the Francis Scott Key mall as the hotel sits behind the mall on top of a small hill. Any other info including admission I would refer you to the website. Hope to see you there!
  14. There was that one shot Spider-Man by Peter Bagge. Forgot the name of it but go check it out. Funny stuff.
  15. Does the OP mean a LCS type of variant where a store could get one for their own store?
  16. “Persevere your better comics”. There’s a meme in there somewhere.
  17. This Sunday if you are just hanging out at home and need your collectibles fix stop by the monthly toy show at the police athletic league building in Wayne, NJ. Hours 9 to 2 and admission is $5. Over 80 eight foot tables in the building. Keep in mind mostly toys but you should see a variety of comic books and magazines scattered about the show floor If just looking for funny books. I know Absolutely awesome collectibles will be there. Myself will have a couple boxes of slabs (in which I figure at least twenty five percent of them will be sold in the morning). I’m not the promoter so any more info needed you can check out the website veteriproductions.com same promoter as the comic art con the end of August but I can’t recall if anyone brings art to this show.
  18. Not too bad a show. Attendance was off due to a number of reasons was my guess. Still did well. And bought well too! Looks like customers and dealers alike will meet up again july 15th in old bridge and then the circuit takes us to the Philadelphia comic con on July 31.
  19. This weekend. Always a great show with books from all eras and price ranges. Also other items like trade paperbacks, original art and reasonably priced supplies
