I'll pound you to a "Pulp" if you don't show off yours!

Is that the one in a house? Been calling for a few days trying to get an appointment 😆 Still remember my first time seeing a deseret book store and getting really excited until the guys I was traveling with explained to me it wasn't a cook book store 🙃 -

It is pretty sparse, you'd think a town the size of boise would have at least 1 good book store 😞 Found this in Idaho falls, had to duel with a train just to get out of the parking lot. Pretty sure I saw a polar bear rummaging through the trash! -

After many vendor and antique malls searched, I actually found one with a few pulps! Middle of no where idaho. 30% off too 😆 -
Now I'm no surfer but do they normally do it on their tippy toes?

Blood n thunder is releasing a new edition with minimal updates. I have an older copy and would recommend this book to anyone new to pulps. https://muraniapress.com/book/the-blood-n-thunder-guide-to-pulp-fiction-2024-edition/ -
Just be careful if you're new to pulps and do some research on price history. Some shady sellers are hopping on the bandwagon to try and take advantage of new pulp buyers. This, for example, is a $50 book in this condition.

Not just acceptable, but preferred. And some glue is allowed on a blue label, I got one with the glue notation. Just not sure what their actual guidelines are. *edit* I just read your post more carefully. Not sure why they left it like that, strange. Are they actually inside the pages or just flush against the bottom?

Bookery just notated it having a cool cover, compared to the rest of the magazine's run. The surrounding issues are 300, this one at 600.

Comics, Pulps, and Paperbacks: Why such a discrepancy in values?
waaaghboss replied to Reno McCoy's topic in Pulp Magazines
Yah, took me a minute, but wow. Just wow -
Sent out a few books out of curiosity for how this grading thing works, some thoughts. The case fits the size of a comic case on the surface, you can stack these non bedsheets slabs on top of comic slab and they lock in. They're twice as thick. Not entirely happy with the build quality, the inner sleeve scrapes/moves slightly when you turn the slab over. I only have 2 graded comics but imagine this isn't the case with those. I wouldn't think that this hurts the book but I'm surprised there's movement between the inner sleeve and the case. Aesthetically, I'm not really happy with how these display. The big shell of a case and the distracting logo distract away from, imo, the beauty of the books. I might be biased however from disliking how graded comics present. Happy with the grade on this one, when I first got it I was actually thrown off by the pages not looking like the pages from an old pulp. Turns out they were just white. Grader notes show small amount of glue but it kept the blue label. Sent in this one with CT, happy with the grade. I'm hoping that purple label pulps get the same stigma that purple label comics get, because I'll take a book for half the price due to a small amount of color touch any day. But I suspect pulp collectors are a bit more savvy and less label chasers. I buy books with glued on covers, missing spines, a tiny color touch is almost meaningless compared to other defects I accept 😆 Happy with the grade. Got this from an adventure house auction, and their grade they listed it at is exactly the grade it got from cgc. Whoever grades their books is spot on! Grader notes didn't mention staple rust, but did cover the water damage to cover. Overall not disappointed, but don't think I'll grade too many more books. These things are big, and aesthetically I prefer the books in a plain mylar bag. Edited to clean up some language, I'm trying to make this post on my phone while being assaulted by an 85lb dog that insists it's his time for a morning walk 🐕 😈 Dog for reference
