  1. Isnt gold the thing everyone is already rushing to? Wouldn't another commodity have a better chance to retain or even grow value? I mean, there are still people paying for ads to try and trade their gold for your cash, which is always a warning sign to me.
  2. I found a book I've been watching for a year, guy finally sent an offer to everyone watching it for A tiny bit off. Later I saw the same exact book listed under another seller for even less than the offer, while the original listing was still active
  3. Not a bad price Yours is the first to sell since I sold mine over a month ago lol. I see someone sold one for $50, listed as newstand 2nd print, but it seems to be missing the banner... odd that.
  4. Seems a bit silly to me that people care that much about a tattoo in a comic they're probably going to get sealed in a cgc slab anyway. I've read my 238 several times, never felt the story suffered from the lack of some silly tattoo
  5. It wasnt venom, it was the uncostumed hand of a female prototype that ended up getting scrapped. 1st Venom was spidey 299
  6. Ready to argue about some trivial comic book nonesense? You bet your sweet arse!
  7. Washington here. I wish our state acted faster to lock things down, but no. Resturants are take out and schools shut down, otherwise everywhere I go hordes of people are out mobbing about licking door knobs and sneezing in my direction (I'd stay home but supposedly my job is critical). Some clown down the street from me decided to have a garage sale, and my tiny town has its first confirmed case 2 days ago. If we locked down the i90 corridor we could have kept those snobby seattleites from coming over the mountains with their germs 🤢
  8. 1 in the census. A 7.5. The inner cover on mine is decent, and I think cgc gives the grade on better of the two covers so I might eventually submit to take a run at the crown. Would a press improve the inner cover on a double cover book?
  9. Just me, but my collecting is starting to take a pause. As much as I love picking up old funny books, at this point I finally feel the market is heading in a direction where buying stocks doesn't feel like im buying into an over-inflated bubble. I find myself saving more recently, and tossing what I can into my equities account to start picking up more and more stocks of companies I feel will bounce back in a profitable way. There are a number of books I'm looking for that I'll still probably splurge on if they ever come up for sale, but buying books every week now feels a bit irresponsible for me when I could be using my money in a way that will grant me greater financial returns over time. Plus, I have to realize and remind myself that I have more comic books sitting in boxes in my basement unread than 99% of the population has ever seen and read. Time to start making a dent in that project
  10. Don't want to spam the boards with a topic for this question, but I was looking through some books and noticed a famous funnies from 1950 has a "conforms to the comics code" note on the cover. It looks like this blurb started on 176 from 1949, which is years before the seduction book and congressional hearings. What was this earlier comics code, and why did famous funnies start promoting it?
  11. Waited a year for it, ended up costing 3x what I planned probably due to having a double cover. Nevertheless glad to have it finally
  12. Was flipping through my darkhawks to see if any had a jeweler insert and I found 1 copy of issue 9 with a wham insert. My newstand 9doesn't have it, so I'm wondering if all 9 directs have the wham insert?
  13. Big fan of tip top tarzans, but probably way out of my price range. Im curious how 2 pieces got cut out of the book, I thought Mr Church mostly bought the books and stacked them unread? Grats on the purchase, I just realized that you're the winner
  14. Cant remember if I posted this, got it several weeks ago 😄
  15. Even though I got rid of my wizards years ago, I still have a copy of that dark book on my shelf. Gl selling, wish I held onto my wizards. Going through the hot and top 10 lists is an trip through time
  16. I heard if you slip a $50 inside the front cover, the grader puts on sunglasses
  17. Got this one recently, looks mildly suggestive but maybe its just me.
  18. Could they slab a pulp that doesn't have the overhang? I have a la paree thata basically magazine.
  19. 95% of the books published by image in their first couple years.
  20. If the contingent show happens, post it here. Might be worth a few hour drive to check it out
  21. When was it the key BA book? I'm now hunting down a copy, as I was never aware of this book as a kid, but love the idea of getting a formally hot book at a reasonable price. Are there other BA books that were "keys" decades ago but slowly fell into affordability?
  22. This is a trip. I was sorting a long box last night, and pulled out a coverless copy of legion and left it out to go into my get-rid-of box. Then I saw this post this morning. Must be a sign to keep it
