the choice is almost a coin flip, but Batman, because I'm a Batman fan.
-
as a batman fan, I guess I would choose the bat 1...but, as discussed when the book was auctioned by heritage late last year, that book does not appear to me to be better than a 5.5 ? so, I think the price paid is excessive relative to the grade I consider it to be...a 9.4 MH is great, and I do like the DD v hitler book, but since I don't collect HG, I would still defer to bat 1

Pretty much what he said.

Hey, Andy, is that Terrors of the Jungle....
Ah... never mind....

I'd lobby to have cgc declare staple replacement to NOT be resoration and take the Action 1.
Don't replaced staples get a blue label if the staples are contemporary with the book? How hard could it be to get some non-rusty 1938 staples?
-
If that SA package includes the X-Men 1, I'll take the Action. If it includes the FF 1, I'd take the Silver Age books. Personal preference really, I'd rather have an Action 1 over an X-Men 1, but I'd rather have an FF 1 over an Action 1.
I'd sell the Spideys and buy my wife something nice.

'Tec 27. Batman #1 is more common than hen's beaks.

A bunch of recent Jumbos and my favorite decanter, all cooling their heels in the tiki hut:
And for reference, if you turn 180 degrees from the view above, you see this:
-
And just to compete the circle of books coming and going between board members, my two latest arrivals from Ronaldo (relaxing in the tiki hut with my new decanter):

Check out this weird one I just won on ebay, couldn't resist...
Suck Chick #2
Are the innards as interesting as the outards? If you ever want to sell to finance another purchase, like an Action #2, let me know.

so you're the one that owns that beauty! It's featured in CGC photo gallery. Btw: I own the Fight Comics #42 CGC SS 7.5 signed by Lily Renee
Photo gallery? Really? Must go look.
42 is a great cover. One of my favorites.

I just got this back in the mail. The book isn't new to my collection, but the slab and the bit of silver ink are fairly recent.

What issue would that be???
I think you know. It's going to be off the market for a while. Like the next 25 to 30 years unless I get hit by a bus.

tis the season...what would be great, if we can get some "new" group shots from some boardies...maybe some from folks that have never posted...after all, the purpose of this thread, I believe, is to 1)share your collection with those that will appreciate 2)to certain extent, educate some to the wonders of certain titles, etc, that we might otherwise not be exposed too
I know that I personally have seen my comic book horizon expand, based on some books that folks post, so would really love to see more!

I'm waiting for a shipment from Ronaldo. Once I get that, I'll update my Jumbo Comics group shot since it will now include an elusive Gerber 9.

Oh and x 14
Might want to buy a desk first...

Kudos to Kevin Boyd for providing me with my second SS book which happens to be a 9.6 double signature Catwoman 22 which is also my favorite issue in the run. I can't complain.

Looks like Heritage got the grade right. As great as the front cover is, I love the back cover. Pilot Clark's little girl narrowly avoids disaster and look at that greedy doctor taking all of poor little Patsy's money. Tootsie Rolls for all... if he was truly generous he would have set that leg for free!

Finally got the okay to post this recent purchase from sacentaur...
I have been eyeballing this book since the first time Steve allowed me to gaze upon it.
Thanks Steve! (thumbs u I will give it a good home.
Yeah... what he said....

hey BZ, care to post the lowest grade book in your collection? Even you must have a ratty book or two?
Oh-h, that's a scary proposal.
That's going to involve going outside and then down to the caverns under the house.
Yikes.
Darn. Not only does he have a most person_without_enough_empathyin' collection, he has actual caverns.
Are the caves where you store the collection of fine red wines?

I can't believe the filter *spooned* b a s t a r d!

Sharon, you are getting sleepy... very sleepy...
You are packaging up the Jumbos and bringing them to the tiki hut...
you drink a mai tai...
a zombie...
a suffering ...
you leave the Jumbos as an offering to the tiki gods...
You awaken later at home and it all seems like a strange dream....
(Nice bunch of books, btw.)

Hi there. This is my first post on the Fiction House thread. I have been hanging out and receiving a lot of help over at the Fox thread.
Based on the unbelievable response to my book, "I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Planets: The Comics of Fletcher Hanks" (now in it's third printing!), I am beginning to contemplate a second volume of the comics of Fletcher Hanks. Below is my wish list.
thanks,
-Paul Karasik
I can't help with any of the books, but I was wondering if you're selling signed copies of your book directly.

Here is a comic I've been looking for at a good price with the right eye appeal. Now it's in my collection after all these years
Congrats!!!!
I just love that cover
Ya know... for Halloween you could get yourself a blue suit and a mask and get Sheena a red dress and a dagger...

Hey, Bangzoom, when's the open house reading party? I'll bring a bottle of fine California wine as the host(ess) gift.
The party was held Saturday, October 27th.
Didn't you get your invitation?
We ended up using all sorts of ideas we found in this 1930's periodical.
We read passages from our favorite Weird Tales story and indulged in other revelries.
Have a Cigar! Golden Age only....!

Big night at the Tiki Hut!
Captain Easy and his pal Wash Tubbs admired the local wahini:
Princess Pantha stopped by and fed the jukebox:
Some hooligans started harassing the ladies:
The Captain stepped in to keep the peace:
And afterward, everyone had a swinging time:
