  1. In my online searching I did manage to find the below draw cabinet which should do nicely for my modern heavy collection. Maybe I'll augment with the portfolios I already have, and then some larger ones I just bought for my oversized pieces. https://www.sevilleclassics.com/ultra-heavy-dutyr-6-drawer-rolling-lockable-storage-cabinet-28-w-x-18-d-x-34-5-h-granite-gray.html Worst case I find a different use for it around the house, but it looks sharp and has the bonus of a lock on it.
  2. I don't know what top loaders are, to be honest. I drop them in bags/mylers, and then flat after that.
  3. So what is the current record for a Jim Lee cover and how much do we think this will blow that away?
  4. Thanks for all the posts here. I'd love to see, and get links for, more storage set ups. Draws and the like. For those storing everything in portfolios, you blow my mind. I have my art in alpha order, by artist then title, issue, etc. If you're dropping art in to a portfolio, that seems like an OCD nightmare of managing it all.
  5. This is definitely the kind of thing I was looking for examples of, thank you!
  6. Ha! You mean to say I've started a new topic on something that has already been talked about a lot? Next you'll be saying there is a thread about Coollinesart.
  7. Yes, aesthetics, but also space. The flat files are extremely wide so I'm very limited on where I can put them. The Ikea draws above, for example, could go in to a closet if not outside in a room generally.
  8. Pictures and buy links please, but how do you store your art collection? Do you do something different for large or small pieces? I know folks use safes and portfolios, and that @ESeffinga is going to have a masterful storage set up, but I'd love to see how folks keep their art in general. I was keeping mine in large metal flat files but want a different, more accessible, solution. I have a collection in the hundreds of pieces, so that is a factor for me too. I'd love something like this, but my wife, love her to bits, objects to the price: https://www.cb2.com/inline-brass-filing-cabinet/s515913 Also, anyone in the Cleveland area interested in two large metal flat files, message me!
  9. Finch is not an artist I follow, but this has to be an outlier/seismic blip on his market, right?
  10. Posting on Jason at Essential Sequentials behalf as he's having issues accessing his dormant account here: Twanj: My apologies for the bad experience you encountered. We try very hard to reply promptly but sometimes its just not possible. When art gets double sold or when you're trying to made an offer on a piece, and it gets sold it sucks. It doesn't happen very often and I try to do my best to make sure that doesn't happen but sometimes just out of my hands. And then sometimes its just me making a mistake. It happens, I'm also human. To address to email situation: I noticed many emails weren't getting delivered and my inbox frequently was crashed due to too data overages. I've recently purchased a higher capacity email to avoid these issues as well as now investing about 15k into a new inventory platform and website that should help avoid future issues with double selling. These should be ready later this fall. I'm usually available on facebook, skype and social media about 8-15 hours a day (usually 7 days a week to my GF unhappiness) to answer questions. I'm always happy to chat on the phone (my cel is posted on the site) so please feel free to reach out if email doesn't seem to work. I'm sorry i don't recall the specifics of your deal/offer but am always happy to try to make both the buyer and the artist satisfied. If its not done on a current piece then on a future one. I def take pride in selling a piece a fan loves and will cherish. As a fan and collector myself, i know that feeling of missing out on something I really wanted. I hope you give us another shot if something strikes your fancy. In the meantime, please stay safe. Sincerely, Jason Schachter - EssentialSequential.com
  11. Last week I got a one-page Jack B. Quick story written by Alan Moore with masterful art by Kevin Nowlan. Obviously, beyond it being a Moore/Nowlan collaboration, it's also hand-lettered in Kevin's distinctive style so words on a page so you can actually read it! Feel free to share your own one-page stories if you've got them, or ones you would like (images please!).
  12. I do not, sadly. @jjonahjameson1 may have some idea though.
  13. And a side by side with the published image, just for fun (and to save three of you from doing it).
  14. That seems a perfect lead-in for me to contribute my example to this topic. A mostly pencils Dale Keown Hulk 369 cover. I've thought about getting someone to blueline ink it but never got beyond that. Bob McLeod would be the obvious choice as he was one of the early run inkers. If anyone has unpublished Keown Hulk pages/covers, I'd definitely be interested. Not the pre-run stuff I'm afraid.
  15. Yeah, I heard the guy ended up in an asylum shortly after it shipped from Canada.
  16. I can follow that Hulk with another Hulk appreciation post. Favourite Hulk artist, favourite moment within a story. I also picked up the page before, and after this, so a three page sequence too. But this one would stay to the end of days.
  17. Size. Large than twice up art is so difficult to store. I've since got two large flat file draws so I can drop everything in there, but even so...
  18. Hi Folks, I just added two exceptional oversized painted pieces for sale. Pricing and photos below for you. As noted in the links, I'm not opposed to offers or trade, but a wins the day. A 17" by 24" Brian Stelfreeze Batman Tales of the Demon trade paperback cover SOLD, and a 15.5" by 22" Wrightson Spider-Man Hooky page SOLD.
  19. This is correct. I could set up 18 pieces for myself, and then 6 for each artists I represent, and then offer commissions for the artist too.
  20. I just dropped my prices by $1-200 on most pieces. I'll add free shipping to anyone on the board too! https://www.comicartfans.com/comicartlive/Booth.asp?bid=21
  21. Mr Bamber, I think it's fair to say that isn't a market price, more a "make it so I can't say no/make me rich" price. I'd guess at ~$40k for the cover in the real world, but that's with an off-the-top-of-my-head number, no research.
