  1. Here is what I know... CGC can remove colour touch. If it is a lot of colour touch and stands a chance of severly downgrading a book (ex. A Hulk 181 CGC 9.2 with colour touch getting knocked down to a 6.5 if it was removed), they will tell you and not bother. Now, your book is a 4.0. Chances are the touch is somewhere where there is red or black (or along the spine possibly although this being an offwhite background cover, I don't know why someone would colour touch the spine but you never know!). They will scrape it off so if it is in the main area of the book you will see that. As for how hard a hit it might take, well slight suggest maybe a spot so it may just be one area. There is a decent chance your book could still maintain a 4.0 grade. Or if getting bumped, maybe down to a 3.5
  2. I think it was NOT trimmed. Biggest thing for me (which I believe has been mentioned) is the fact that on the back, lower spine, you can see how the cover is rolled. This roll matches the fact that the top edge on the other side sticks out. Purely production here IMO.
  3. Curious where your opinions fall on this long time sidekick in the Marvel universe.
  4. I am also in the 6.0-6.5 range easily. The bottom edge and abraded corners of spine are the most concerning spots I see.
  5. 6.5-7.0. They hammer modern books with lots of spine and staple stress like this.
  6. Generally a printing crease isn't hammered. It might not make the book 9.6-9.8 worthy although I am pretty sure 9.6s exist with printing creases from this and earlier eras. This book appears to be in the 9.0-9.2 range but photos of the entire back and other areas are needed to be more sure.
  7. Love them both? Work towards buying both then.
  8. And this is why I love this forum. Thank you. Def very matte haha. But I’m happy to have until my fortunes find me a first print!
  9. Random question for someone more professional than I with Turtles stuff. I picked up a second print of issue 2. Looks great but the cover paper quality seems off to the touch. Is this just the way it was back in ‘85? Or did people fake this issue sometimes like they did with number 1? Just curious
  10. Hard to see those types of stains when in a slab. Seems to be a tiny pinkish spot on the chin of that metal headed guy in background and also the crotch area of Adam. They may be small but CGC hammers stains hard especially on modern books
  11. I can’t say I ever analyzed this cover that hard. It’s kinda boring is all that turns me off. But I get there being a goal and yet within the goal there exists books or covers you dislike. I try to avoid such completionist goals for this reason.
  12. Looks like they cleaned. My error. Maybe I was thinking quick press. 😜
  13. It says when necessary on their site which I believe means they give it a wipe to ensure no surface grit is pressed into the book but they don’t clean to the extent a good cleaner will. if I’m wrong let me know but I believe this is all it is
  14. Def some apparent room to improve with a clean on the back. A press sure but a clean is a must (need to find someone for that) Id say 5.5 personally with 6.0 or so potential. The ink, while distribution related, bleeds a lot. A tiny bit and CGC might overlook especially if just on the back. Otherwise they will factor it in.
  15. Seems like a 9.4 with that indent or mark on bottom of spine. I’m going to guess you can’t believe it got a grade like a 9.8 or that they hammered you down to a 9.0. Which was it lol.
  16. Probably been said but I’m gonna thank @The Sledderand whoever else (sometimes it’s been @HollyJollyOne) as well as YOU reading this for making this raffle so much fun and something in encourage myself to step up on year after year. Awesome. Cheers and good health to all as the new year approaches!
