  1. For the Age of Ultron, a 9.8 sold in November (not signed) for $34. My guess maybe signed someone pays $60-80? For the FF book, a Virgin variant CGC 9.8 sold for $70. Yours is lower grade but signed so maybe it fetches the same For the MK book, a 9.2 signed recently sold for $380. Yours is better grade so perhaps into the $450 range. If you think they deserve higher, price higher and take offers. If you don't get offers quickly or within a few weeks, you have priced too high. That or for some of these (the first two) the market won't be chomping at the bit to acquire so they may sit for a bit.
  2. Agree. Kind of like Frank Miller. I love late 70s era and early to mid 80s era Miller. Then Dark Knight and Sin City happened and while I can appreciate the stories there more, the art is jarring and hard to enjoy for me personally
  3. ASM 238 and 239. I mean, I am sure there is some debate about how much insight he had in creating Hobby, or even drawing the cover but for me he did and those are two of the best Spidey covers of the 80s, if not the top 2. Nuff said. Anything else from JRJR does little for me, even his DD stuff
  4. I think best case scenario I could see is 3.0 with that chunk out of the back. And that is if removing the glue doesnt damage the book more. As far as 2.0s go, yours would probably sell near the higher end due to appearance. If the cost to resub and remove is worth a bump to 2.5, maybe try it? I am not one who can afford this level so my knowledge atm of pricing for one is not up to snuff.
  5. I mean google still shows this... And like when is Google ever wrong!?!?!
  6. Def a 9.0 or better book I say. Spine has a few faint ticks from what I can tell, 9.2 seems possible and might top out at 9.4
  7. For reference, a 2.5. The pictured one above looks much higher
  8. Plus the back. I mean the back could be terrible and negate all I said but if you are gambling off one pic and the price is right and the back is good, even with the potential flaws I mentioned, its a VG at least for me still.
  9. If you have that at a 2.5-3.0 I think that is very low. All of the edges look great, bottom edge appears to have slight sun shadow? Hard to tell. Spine has some light wear sure, but the staples look strong and no tears or major wear to the spine. It is also hard to tell if there is a small stain in the word "with" in the title....very hard to tell. If there is a stain, still a 4.0-4.5. If no stain, this book easily gets into the 5.5 range.
  10. The manufacturing page issue should not matter. Would maybe keep a book from 9.8. This one is hard to tell, looks like some light wear bottom of spine. It's a book that you need to make sure no spine ticks in person. I see one fairly noticeable one behind Venom back. For me 9.2-9.4 safely
  11. Faint stain is unfortunate but I think even with it and it being on the back and hard to see, a press might get to a 6.0. Def a 5.5 as is.
  12. Looks worse than my 9.0 ASM 238...colour rub top left of spine in the black blurb, a minute corner crease bottom right plus on the back that tiny rip 8.5 from me.
  13. I mean unless the book has something noticeable like an indent somewhere, I wouldn't press or have press unless by someone with experience And I think the chance is there at a 9.8. I never hope for or bank on these though so I would call 9.6 to be safe.
  14. I'd say so and some bleeding into the comic Also, am I the only one who sees colour rub and not dirt on the DD? Meh, my grades are in so we shall see either way!
  15. If someone said hey this is $1000 i would do it If someone said $2000, I’d really have to think If someone said $3000, I mean it’s cool but I’m not the guy for it. That’s just me though. Obviously bigger Batfans than I as one can clearly see from prices that have been paid
  16. Aside from the interwebs, who "confirmed" the character played by Ethan Hawke? I have a feeling the name given was a bit of a lark and that we might see the name Arthur Harrow given to the character but the character he plays will actually resemble someone else. Just seems too niche to make the focal point of an entire season is all. I will say though that of all the Disney+ stuff to come out, this is the one I am going to keep up with. I kept up with Wandavision because nothing else was on, Cap and Winter Solider was ok but I wasn't as on top of it, Loki I still need to finish and I havent even started Hakweye. This though will be watched as they come out because of my genuine joy for the character.
  17. Visually I will agree but if the whole multiple personality thing which is introduced in the Bill S run and expanded upon in more recent years in some excellent runs, is the real different maker for me.
  18. Could also be Randall Spector....whatever it is the notion that it would make a book that much more valuable is insane to me. I guess that's why people speculate but like I feel for these people because unless they find the guy willing to spend $150-200 on the $100 book they just bought, they are going to be disappointed. Again unless Hawke makes this character a household name who everyone wants and must have and they create more comics about the character and so on and so on....
  19. ...I can buy a raw copy now for under $40 from what I see....are you referring to copies in a certain grade? From what I can see though for the last 3-4 months 9.8s have been around the $200-250 range with a couple outliers.
  20. Also are we really sure this is the character Hawke is portraying? I smell a "Shuma Gorath" situation here where much like how Marvel is using the name Gargantos but has the character looking like Shuma for the toys and upcoming Dr. Strange flick, I feel they just took the name from this random comic and are using it to create a unique character to the show, who might also embody characteristics of someone like Sun King from recent arcs. And no...I don't own nor have bought any copies of that book either (nor would I recommend) but I do think it likely what we will see. Marvel's sneaky way of saying "haha" to the FOMO folks.
  21. I really feel bad for people spending over $100 on it. When will we learn? The odds of Ethan Hawke portraying a character with an extremely minor appearance in MK canon and having that performance propel the character into a "oh my god that was amazing I must have this issue" type situation is lower than your chances of getting the powerball. Wait until June. It will be a $10-20 book then if you want it. Plus I guarantee you can find it in a back issue bin somewhere if you must have it.
  22. I mean I will maintain my following beliefs about CGC until shown otherwise: - books graded by them tend to garner more value if reselling -their cases are good and labels great -they have yet to burn me and from many accounts if an error is made it is fixed (sure you hear some horror stories but the other companies have them too) The competition may have a better case but labels are not good, customer service is wildly inconsistent, wait times are just as bad or worse and if you are selling a book, general population seems to expect some sort of discount if its not in a CGC slab.
  23. Generally a comic without a cover or half a cover has very little value, even if from the 60s or 70s. Maybe $5-10 to someone wanting just a reader comic. Now for a key issue, like say ASM 50 or 129 or even an early pre-issue 10 copy of Amazing Spider-Man, you would get a bit more as someone out there again wants a more affordable reader and would spend $50-150 depending on the "key" and perhaps just print or order a reprint cover to use on the book. Generally though, most collectors want a full cover on their book and these can be a tougher sell overall. But there are buyers for them for sure. I would spend time researching which issues you have to determine if any fall into the slightly more valuable category. Otherwise, as mentioned before, expecting much more than five bucks out of some of them would be a pipe dream.
