  1. 5.0 as is but it looks like it could improve a bit with a press (n which case 5.5)
  2. My wife had back surgery earlier last year. Obviously, not every condition requires it, but when it does it can be amazing what a difference it makes. Hoping you see similar type results.
  3. health is #1 - take care of yourself and best of luck. I've been there with back pain.
  4. I'll say 4.0. I think the front i a little better but the back pulls it down.
  5. Hi, I have a similar type problem with my 1980's comics where a few of them weren't pushed all the way down before putting the lid back on. Not that they've been that way for 30+ years but at some point when I took them out, I wasn't careful enough replacing them. The top of them became bent but not to the point where it made color breaking creases. I went over the top edge with a small travel iron (no steam & using a teflon sheet) and then sandwiched them between backing boards (one in the middle also) and then in-between hardback books and placed 25 pounds of steel plates (ie weightlifting plates) on it. After a full day it certainly helped but not back to original shape
  6. front looks better than the back. I'd guess 3.5 with the back cover pulling it down
  7. "I have Hulk 1-6" is a nice 1st post! CGC can crack the book so I would suggest sending it as is and letting them do it. I do not believe there is any fee for them to crack it open. Think of the "max value per book" what you would like CGC to insure the book for when it's in their possession. That will also determine the shipping price back to you (e.g. if you use USPS registered mail then the max value also plays into the shipping insurance for USPS) The max value you use then determines the submission tier and associated turnaround time. You can post pics/scans to the "Buddy Can you Spare a Grade" forum to get members input as to a poss grade which can help you get a ballpark idea to the comics value If you choose "Walkthru" then there's an extra fee based on the book's value. If you want it back faster then there's a "fast track" option for some tiers If you choose different tiers for your books then they will be basically split into separate orders which will increase your shipping back to you There's fees for pressing, screening for pressing/restoration. Of course you can use a private 3rd party for those services if you wish which has it's own set of costs Lots of stuff so don't rush into it if you're not sure. Take your time to search the boards for posts related to fees/shipping etc. You can call CGC too and/or use the 'Ask CGC' forum here's a link to a return shipping fee chart for registered mail USPS (not sure if it's out of date) https://www.cgccomics.com/pdf/cgc-return-shipping-fees.pdf
  8. Paying for a membership gives you a credit which you can apply against grading/pressing fees. Not sure if it also covers shipping fees back to you which can run $30-$70 for a single comic (USPS insured registered mail) You can call CGC customer service and ask. You won't get a refund for any money you leave in that credit . Welcome!
  9. I'm also around 5.0 due to what looks like a large amount of discoloration/foxing on the back
  10. I was going to say 45 due to the shadowing on the back. Always tough, for me, trying to gauge how much gets taken off for thing like that
  11. Was pressed. I thought this had 9.4 potential - guess I was good this year and Santa gave me an early present.
  12. A few that just came back. They pretty much met turnaround times advertised.
  13. Catching a 9:45 morning matinee. One of their bigger theaters. Bought ticket last second and only about 20 seats were already taken.
  14. feel free to ask CGC directly in the 'Ask CGC' forum here or just call heir customer service if ou want total piece of mind
  15. Earlier this year I sent a package requiring signature to that address. I think it's a pretty large receiving area.
  16. I believe the shipping fee CGC charges you pays for USPS insurance. The shipping fee is based on the number of books and the value you assign them when submitting. So CGC insuring them, but USPS is.
  17. if your aim to to slab and sell them, then I would definitely look into having your expensive books evaluated for cleaning & pressing.
  18. as is, i'll say 7.0 A press would help due to what looks to me like aroll in the comic
  19. i'm gonna say 7.5 half a dozen small spine tics, plus the corners, some shadowing and maybe it's my monitor but the cover seems dull. You have some nice books!
  20. seems similar to your Flash 105 w/o the shadowing and the bottom front cover problem, but more visible spine tics and creases on the LRC maybe that all balances out and also gives you a 5.5
