  1. I'd say the cover has moderate wear with a decent amount of stress marks along the spine The entire bottom of the front cover is crease while the top has much less. All that plus the dust shadow - I'd guess 5.5
  2. Looks just like the sig I have on my Demon #1. I showed that to several people, incl a big sig collector, and all thought it looked like the real thing. I had bought it back ~1980 so I imagine that prob helps too (not a lot of reason to forge it back then, I'd think) As far as your 2nd question, earlier this year I watched an Ebay auction for a Demon 1 8.0 with that label go for ~$600 and a Machine Man 1 go for ~$500
  3. i'll guess a 9.4 due to slight wear on the top corners and a couple small marks on the spine
  4. Had an order of 16 moderns which were listed as received for 25 workings days and just moved to grading.
  5. Since you're asking about tics, one thing I do, as far as tics go, is to refer back to the Overstreet Grading guide (which isn't CGC grading rules but is prob close enough to get a decent idea). There is a chart which shows number of defects and how it affects grade. I only refer to it for books in very good shape (ie 8.5 and above type books) where there's an easily countable number of defects Things like the severity of the defect also come into play. You shouldn't have a problem finding a used one for a good price on Ebay
  6. Aren't there 3 tics on the spine? There's the 2 obvious ones, but in the middle of them is another smaller white mark - or is that a lighting issue?
  7. The spine area is pretty beat up. 1.5-1.8 is my guess
  8. I had recently submitted a X-Men 94 to a presser who told me it had C-1 color touch on the front cover. He said it would have to get seriously gouged to remove it. Basically cutting out the sections where it bled thru. In my case I'd rather not have the book marred like that. So I left it as is. It came back a 7.0 Purple. Not sure how much the grade would've fallen if I had it done but I'd imagine at least 2 points
  9. So, if using Ebay for something of enough value for this to happen, would the advice be to only accept credit cards as Ebay payment since I believe the return window is 60 days?
  10. Wow, great condition for a book that old! I'll guess a GA bump to 9.0
  11. cool double stamp. If the water stains weren't there, with the creases on the spine/edges, rounded corners and that spine split at the bottom, I'd guess 5.5-6.0 Not sure how much you'd get dinged on the large amount of stains. If it's 1 point then you'd be at 4.5-5.0
  12. with that level of wear on the spine plus all the creases,I'd take a guess at 3.5 There's a thread sticky about forum rules at the top. One comic per post For some reason, that green headed guy looks like a Muppet to me....
  13. given the wear on the spine, the rounded corners, the creases on the back top along with some small tears, some NCB creases on the back cover spine, poss bend on the front cover over the right side edge and color break in the yellow text box - I'd guess 5.5-5.0 then maybe take off a half for that missing piece - 5.0-4.5
  14. I've got Bats vs Hulk too. I'll have to post that one soon. These were one of the few I had to order from the catalogs listed in the ads as the local pharmacy only carried what would fit in the spinner racks. Back then there was no mention of condition, just send your money in. Thanks!
  15. Hope everyone had a good holiday A while ago I posted scans of the sequel. Here is the 1st one There is one scan showing some creases on the back cover above Spidey/Supes heads which seems to be the biggest flaws
  16. Had all the Crisis on Infinite Earths up for auction individually. Same guy bought 5 out of 6 he tried for. He said he was buying them for a friend for Christmas to complete his set. I told him the world needs more friends like that.
  17. Agreed. I was going to sign up but decided to hold off until some of the marvel TV shows start up
  18. Love those old Flash books! Spine looks to be the worst part and is chewed up a bit. I'll go with a 2.0
  19. I've only sold a few slabs on Ebay. I didn't use auctions. I listed them as Buy It Now with offers accepted. I put the list price as a small amount over what I think is FMV with the automatic reject bid set at what I'd be willing to accept.
  20. The service and fees page lists the prices and turnaround times for each tier, pressing & grading
  21. Do you have a picture from him on what he received? Maybe it got damaged in shipping?
  22. there are some subscription services like GoCollect and GPA Analysis which have sales stats for SS series. Overstreet price guide for a non-online service You could also try making accounts with the online auction sites (Heritage, Comic Link, Comic Connect etc) and seeing what you can find there. Not all sigs bring a premium. depends on who signed it, if the sig takes away from the appeal on the cover etc
