  1. Why? Some of them would be submitted in the Walkthru tier and some in the other upper tiers so you won't have that eternity wait you do with Economy
  2. are you asking if a press would damage the pages due to the coloration? As far as I know it wouldn't. Also, AFAIK a press wouldn't affect the page coloration (although if dirty a clean certainly could help) If you have brittle pages you may be taking a risk.
  3. Galactus hunting thru the back issues bins back in the day got me this:
  4. Absolutely loved season 1. Seasons 2 was a step down. Season 3 was a bigger step down. Let's hope they turn it around
  5. Episode 2 played like it could've been from the orig series. Uhura's involvement was kinda telegraphed from the start. Enjoying how the characters play off one another. To me so far Pike, Chapel and Spock stand out. I liked the premiere a little better than this episode.
  6. Got an alert on my phone that t-mobile was offering free year of apple TV. So I logged into my account and signed up. Then I sawthey also offered a free year of Paramount+ , so I signed up for that too. 1st thing I watched was the initial episode. I was very entertained by it. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
  7. That is something you don't have to worry about. As to what grade should you prescreen for - is your purpose to sell these? if so then you'd have to figure out what is the lowest grade that gives you an acceptable amount of profit. If you're not already aware of it, you could post some of them on the "Spare A Grade" forum to get an idea if there's flaws you're not picking up on
  8. since these are curr graded then the total cost basis per book would also include the original slabbing/shipping costs
  9. On the days when I expected expected a new issue of NTT to be out, I remember picking up speed on my bike as I approached my LCS When I was a little younger, I'd be beyond thrilled to find Neal Adams work in the dollar bins. Collecting NTT/WW as they came out gave me that same feeling. RIP gentlemen.
  10. If by 'wet spot', you mean the next to last pic - that is an example of Newton Rings. A light effect caused by two layers of plastic touching. It is a problem that has been around forever. Although if it's "small", CGC doesn't consider it a problem. There's threads here dedicated to Newton Rings
  11. In the case where something happens to the book after CGC upcharges you & before they ship it then does the FMV become the value associated with the new tier or would it still be what you entered on the submission form. I would imagine the former since you're now paying for that tier
  12. I binged Daredevil when I first got Netflix but by then either all 3 seasons were out or 2 of them were so I had a lot to go thru. But nowadays I like spreading them out among all the shows I watch. Gives me time to absorb them, listen to podcasts on the episode etc before moving on to the next one Plus some shows I watch with the Mrs who's def not into binging.
  13. i meant in the example orig given were a book/collection would drop in value sometime later after being inherited. Even if not realistic, was just wondering if something like that is allowed with collectibles.
  14. if you go the inheritance route and say you're in a state which requires some level of tax. So you have a copy of the estate tax form for a record and whatever info was used to establish a FMV. Do you know if that situation allows for a loss to be claimed?
  15. Yes, viewing "The Hangover" should be required for anyone wanting to date the right type of stripper.
  16. right. I'm in PA which has a 4.5% inheritance tax for direct heirs (12% siblings ; 15% other) I work in Jersey so I'm always telling the older folks they should move to PA for retirement. 4.5% vs 28% makes it worth it if I want to pass them along to the kids
  17. another option is, if he's willing to not sell them, to will them to an heir which can enable the heir(s) to establish a cost basis of current FMV at the time the will is executed/estate taxes settled
  18. Neal Adams was the reason I'd ride my bike to my LCS even when I knew no new comics which I collected were out - I would just go thru the back issues bins hunting for his covers. One of my happiest collecting memories was when I found a beat up GL/GA 76 for a buck or two. R.I.P. and thank you for all the thrills you gave a young kid when he found your work.
  19. He's one of his personas as seen on the cover of Moon Knight #1 (for ex) On that cover he's the one in the tux
  20. As any child would know - Paper beats Rock
  21. Ugh. Does the label on that empty indicate the weight of the package? Obviously if it shows just the weight of the box then you have your proof of what he did.
