  1. Curse my slightly older than middle aged eyes! Good, hopefully you get an even better grade
  2. Front cover looks really good from what I can see though its harder with it in the bag Back cover has staining or foxing. Average it out and I'd guess a 9
  3. ULC is a little bruised. 3 spine ticks breaking color (ever so slightly) Right by the top of that platform she's on (by the right front side) what is that thin white line? Back cover also has 2 horiz lines (on left side) I'd guess 8.5-9.0
  4. cover isn't detached, though maybe the tape is holding it together. Centerfold is detached at bottom staple. thanks!
  5. If it doesn't show on the scan well, there are small pieces of tape over each staple. Also, any opinions on whether it makes any significant diff selling a book in this poor condition raw vs slabbed? thanks
  6. thanks for the closeup. It does, though, make the spine look dirtier than what I saw on initial front pic
  7. well my guess of a grade would be if that was there by design. a quick google search shows others with that same mark. I'm also thinking books that old in good shape are given a little slack I could easily be wrong, but, for the OP, I hope I'm right
  8. looks in really good shape to me. What's that on the bottom of the red 'K'? Front ULC has some wear, maybe some small creases on spine or maybe the light on white is playing tricks on my eyes 9.2 with a press (or better if I had it in hand to inspect)
  9. On the 3rd pic, that thin light white line above 'comics' on the top front edge. Is that a crease? The 3rd pic also looks like it has 2-3 pretty small color breaking lines along the spine as well as those in the upper corners (ULC looks like it has a couple whisps of white - not sure if that's a crease) & LRC What is that along the barcode by the spine - those small white curved lines? front right edge also looks like a small crease ( a little bit under N in X-Men) In my uneducated opinion, I don't think it would grade a 9.0 - everything there is small but maybe adds up enough to be under a 9
  10. You'll be paying more in shipping to CGC if you're doing that. How about arranging them in1 package with grouping them by tier level and entering them on the form in that order. Coming back from CGC to you, I believe they'll ship according to tier level as they'll get done at different times
  11. It would be very educational to know the processing in getting info out so that eventually a store owner would recognize them. I'd have no clue on what steps to take. Glad you got them back.
  12. Really nice! teenage daughter = High School? if so, has she talked to any counselors/advisors? They may know contacts for further info if they don't have knowledge themselves. What about local colleges? Maybe you/her could write to their Communications/Arts/other departments for info on what they offer or any other general advice,
  13. let me PM you, though I will say, again in IMO only, that CGC is the leader here. I would not rush into going somewhere else. But it is best always knowing all your options.
  14. There's something above the phrase 'in comic' on the front cover. That discoloration along the top back edges and that overspray would keep it out of the NM category IMHO 8.0-8.5 depending on how well cleaning would help.
  15. had some typo in my last response. You could try asking CGC if that sig would get you a diff label. I have no idea if it would. You could try that 'other company' who does sig verification services if ur willing to use them (I am not giving a rec one way or the other - it's just an option for u to consider. Do ur due diligence 1st) if you do get it graded and ur still hanging around in the forums, please update the thread when it comes back. good luck.
  16. Looks like several tics on the spine, those 2 arced grooves by the URC, and the back also has creases as does the LRC. Several like non color breaking. So after a good press and clean I'd guess 8.0-8.5
  17. Wow, I thought this thread was dead. Joeypost is working on it , then off to CGC. So I imagine it will still be a bit before it shows back up. Whenever it does I will update. Thanks to all.
  18. Don't scan the inside, you can end up tearing something . Inside can just be a pic.
  19. Hard to tell from those pics, but seems like maybe a half-dozen tics on the spine. That URC seems more like someone wrote something on a piece of paper which was on top of the book rather than the creases I am used to seeing. I wonder if that type of mark can be pressed out? Good quality scans would be better for evaluating it
