  1. thanks - With having to work today, I'll prob miss the mailman to ask him about the registered pkg left in the mailbox Last night I asked my wife to ask him but she'll prob forget. she didn't seem too thrilled as I was swapping the 10 slabs into mylars. She asked where I was going to store them I was going to say 'how about you get rid of your junk in the other room' but decided on discretion. I get along with current mailman - seems like a nice guy. The prev guy we had for a long time. He was a gem. Loved dogs. 3 yrs ago when I was tossing a frisbee to my ,then, 1yr old Golden, he decided to take a lap around the house (dead end street so cars not an issue though I prob wasn't too smart there). After a fews seconds he doesn't come back so I go out front to look for him Here he had seen the mail truck and bolted to him. The guy stopped his truck, got out and chased him down waiting for someone to come and get him. We gave him (mailman not dog) a big gift that Xmas
  2. bought it from LCS back in the day. Got lucky my hands were clean and I didn't bend the pages back too far when reading it. As great as a story it was, I think I only read it once. Had to come into work today. On the bright side the scanner here is big enough for slabs
  3. -- Is the killing joke graded? I heard they are sticklers on the grading on that book 9.8 don't have the pic on the pc currently but there's one on the "this week back from cgc" thread
  4. Is that a tear or crease on back cover by LLC? creases on the edges, discoloration on back by LRC, I'll guess 7.0
  5. My 1st impression was also a 6.5
  6. just got it back - wemt thru a clean/press
  7. My 1st batch of book back, left in the mailbox. Killing Joke had a small scratch on the back and light NRs, rest are perfect
  8. Don't know if it's with regular mail or a separate delivery. I have seen mail trucks on off hours so I do know some type of deliveries occur apart from normal mail. If I can catch the regular guy tomorrow , I'll ask if he brings registered pkgs. This was my 1st big package. A few days ago I had Killing Joke come by itself as it was made into a separate order since it couldn't get pressed. My daughter pulled up just as the truck came to my house so she signed for it. Who knows if they would've left that in the box
  9. -- That's a big mailbox thank my dad. Bought the house 25 yrs ago. Got up one Sat morning back then and saw him with a pole digger out front. Said the existing one was too small. Now I have the biggest and ugliest box on the block, but it does come in handy.
  10. Does the regular mailman deliver registered mail packages? Had a box of 9 slabs left in the mailbox yesterday, smushing the letters to the back of it. Wife was home so no one tried knocking. Luckily I have areal big mailbox where he was able to close the door to it. So it wasn't visible to anyone traveling the street. I get along fine with the carriers we've had. Give them xmas tips, they give my dog treats.
  11. due to the chipping on the front right corners, I'd put it at 2.5-3.0
  12. Got Killing Joke back and it had a NR issue in the center but you had to tilt it at the right angle to notice it. I would consider it a slight issue.
  13. Looking at this via cell phone so my older eyes aren't getting as good a view as on the desktop. I'll throw out a 2.5-3.0 guess
  14. the front seems to have a bend to it which I would think would look better after a press. The spine creases wouldn't be helped and I'm guessing those large staining spots on the back wouldn't either. The front doesn't look at that bad from that pic but adding in the staining on the back, I'd say 4.5-5.0 (better if I guessed incorrectly about what a clean could do the back)
  15. As presented, I'll say 6.0 - 6.5 even if that's not a tear
  16. https://www.cgccomics.com/boards/forum/19-comics-market-sales-advertising-ebay-dealers-etc/
  17. The top edge of back cover had some issues along with that cg mentioned. Looks around 8.5 from what Im able to tell.
  18. Members can sell from their personal collections. Are you referring to buying new releases?
  19. Neat book! Several small tics on the spine. That long thin crease by the right front. Looks like a small crease line on bottom edge. You mentioned the staining & chipping. I'll guess a 4.5
  20. Out of curiousity, how do you go about selling that quantity of comics? I wouldn't think you have 10000 ebay auctions going around the same time. Ny
  21. with ~dozen small creases on the spine , top left edge wear, small crease on LRC I'd throw out a 7.0 at best
  22. good - I recently dropped Verizon for my TV and went with Hulu's live TV streaming package (which incls their streaming library)
  23. an interesting follow up is what you plan on doing with your collection - especially for the older folks. After all, you can't take it with you . Though there was a great thread on some of the innovative things people made out of comic covers (desks, shelves etc) How interesting would a final resting place made out of comic covers be???
