Thank you everyone for the positive comments on this book. I really like it a lot and am starting to be more open minded to golden age books with some restoration if the price is right. This copy has all the attributes I like in a book. Now if only I could find a buyer for the Sensation Comics.....

Just got my books in from Heritage today and had to crack this one out. CGC 8.5 with just the cover cleaned and white pages. This book is gorgeous in person and would have gone for much more money if not for the slight professional restoration. I'm very pleased to have such an early Superman in nice shape.

Looks like a She-Hulk prototype. Very Nice books Andy.
WOW what a smoker...
Unbelievable book Buck!! (thumbs u (thumbs u
Buck, that book is way nicer than Andy's!
I agree. No comparison.

Very pleased with these two. They are my consolation prize for not winning the Mask 2, and my last big purchases before school starts.
The Blue Bolt was on my top 5 wanted list, and is the hardest to find of the Cole books in my opinion. This copy has the colors I was after, and the miswrap is minimal (most 105s have bad centering). I am just thrilled with this copy. When I saw it on eBay I knew I had to win it.
The Planet is the Cosmic Aeroplane copy.
The Blue Bolt is one of my favorite Cole books. Looks like a beautiful copy.

I hadn't even noticed the pointy head. I collect books with the words "Finish Line" on the cover.

I've been waiting for the wine to breathe or it would have been sooner.

You Timely guys are starting to get to me. Now I'm spending money on this junk.

I posted this in the general golden age thread, but I'll put it here as well.

Nice. Did you just win that book or was it yours before the auction? I almost bid on it.

Let's keep the Wonder Woman theme going.

Steve,
Since you did not but it, I now know that my mental ability to influence people's thoughts is effective. Had I seen the Master Comics you picked up from Richard before you, I would have done the same thing. Oh well, at least I got one book.

I am quite thrilled to have picked this book up in San Diego from Ted at Superworld. A very difficult issue that I have been looking for in nice shape. The reds are much brighter in person.

Yet another SD Con pickup, this one also from MrBedrock - strict grading, great price, and great pages (I think the book presents very well!). Origin of Bulletgirl, too:
You must have got that one early, because it looks like a book I would buy. Very nice! What is the grade?

Picked this up at the San Diego Comicon. A nice, clean copy with white pages that looks better in person.

Thought I'd celebrate my 1000th post with a groupshot!
(I'm still working on the Frazetta issues, but I figure they deserve their own groupshot anyway)
What a great set!! I really like the FF 217. I don't know if you have scanned any of them separately, but I would like to see them.

There's something about women in tubes that rings my collecting bell.
Here's a photo from the 1939 San Francisco World's Fair that you might enjoy.
Nice photo. I love anything related to the 1939 NY World's Fair. Off the topic, but if you like the 1930's - 1940's time period, I highly recommend the "The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier and Clay", a fictional novel set in the 1930's and 40's with an emphasis on comic books, the NY World's Fair and WWII. A great book.

In today's mail, to me this is a striking image in its detail and it's nice to see Elias not copying Caniff so much for once -
Nice book with a great cover.

Adam is right. I usually crack any CGC book I buy for my own collection out of the slab.

A couple I recently picked up
Really nice books. I need some of the war greytones.

Bedrock reminded me that I tend to collect out of the way books. I think this one would qualify and since I haven't posted new books in a while:
What a unique and cool cover! I have never seen it before and love the line work.

I bought this book several years ago from Joe Vereneault. Spokane copy with bone white pages.

WOW Ken! Is it as perfect as it looks? The Spokanes are awesome, and to have the Spokane of that book is doubly awesome!
Richard,
It is nearly perfect. I would say an easy 9.6 and maybe 9.8.
Ken
Again I say WOW!
Of the books in your collection, which is your favorite (if not this)?
I like my MH Captain Marvel Jr. 4, 7 and 17. I also really like the National Comics 10 I picked up in the last Heritage auction. For silver age, my Tales of the Unexpected 17 (awsome greytone cover) and 43, Strange adventures 9, 80 and 150. Too many choices.
