I really like the colors on this cover. One of the better covers for this period in World's Finest as so many have weird alien covers.
I don't care for the colors on that book. Get rid of it.

All of these nice Superman related covers are starting to get to me. Beautiful books that I am having a hard time not adding to my ever growing want list.

This came in yesterday. The dust shadow is not nearly as bad as it looks in the scan.

I always love the New Years themed covers. Not comic book related, but Leyendecker did a lot of fantastic covers for the Saturday Evening Post in the 1930's and 40's with New Years themes.

And one more on the same theme I forgot yesterday, by Charles Biro: -
No pedigree on this book. Just a nice copy with off-white to white pages and nice gloss.

I only have a couple of Timely's. Here is one of them.

No, CGC will not slab this book because of an overhang on the back cover. I don't get any of the books for my collection slabbed anyway so it doesn't matter to me. The book grades out at about VF+ with white pages.

A recent acquisition, Central Valley copy.

Although I'm not really a big Police Comics fan, I always thought this cover was cool. Mile High's make any book look good though.

It's interesting to see that whomever wrote the code on this MH put down a "2" for the number of copies received then marked over it with a "4"

Great cover with an unusual horror type of feel to it. Here is another book with the richest colors you can imagine.

Thanks. This is one of my favorite greytones. Any cover with a rocketship, the Earth and a Moon-beast has to be good.

Nope. Try again.
That's another beauty! And, as a Bethlehem copy, appropriate to the season!

They don't get much better than this. I spent years looking for a high grade copy of this book. Anyone have a nice Tales of the Unexpected 15 to post?

Adam,
Sorry, I didn't get the joke. I thought maybe you owned the White Mountain copy and perhaps Marnin was mistaken since I also bought some Bethlehem books from him.

Strange Adventures has a few really nice greytone covers. The car on this cover adds to the nostalgic 1950's feeling this cover invokes.
Ken
Now that's Gil Kane!
What a beauty! But then if it's the copy I expect it is, that would be no surprise.
White Mountan copy.

Beautiful
Adam,
I purchased the book from Marnin Rosenberg and he recently confirmed that the book is the White Mountain copy. What makes you say no?

Mine too. Its the only issue I own of this title.

Picked this up a couple weeks back. From 1955 - Too late for Golden Age, too early for Silver. Atom Age? Well, it's got a comics code stamp, is that still the Atom Age? The "Exciting Adult Reading" blurb is an interesting hold-over form the last few pre-code issues of Dynamite. Not something one expects to see on a code approved book.
I'm finding the Charlton Johnny Dynamite/Foreign Intrigues as hard a run to complete as the Comic Media Dynamite issues.
Inside are a couple of Pete Morisi illustrated tales involving Communists, and another by an inferior artist. They lack the punch of the earlier pre-code hard-boiled crime stories, but one is notable as perhaps the first American comic book story to take place in Vietnam.
Great Lips..........on her too. Here's a cover that I love the colors on.

How about this one?
Adam,
Thanks for posting. What a beautiful copy. Is that copy a pedigree? It looks really fresh and the colors are vivid.

Adam,
That is an amazing run of later issue Planet Comics you have! Will you post a large scan of #71? It is one of my favorite Planet covers.
Ken
Getting closer!
Not close enough! I love that book too though.

I'm sure everyone knows how tough this book is in high grade. This is the Oakland copy which has just the most minimal wear with excellent color and page quality. I was thrilled to get it from a fellow board member a few years ago.

Steve,
Sounds like a killer collection, no pun intended.

I love the Frazetta covers on Famous Funnies. Does anyone know of a pedigree collection that has these books in high grade with nice page quality? I have seen a Cosmic Aeroplane copy of one of these books, but nothing else.
