  1. Nothing in this life is perfect. I've had a couple of mistakes myself, but CGC always takes care of me every time. Instead of posting your issues(playing victim), why not give them a chance to fix it first?
  2. Just sent in this as a tester. No, I did not get the sig graded, it's pretty obvious it's a vintage Romita sig. I'll post the results when it gets shipped!(Figured greasing the wheels with a potential glowing review couldn't hurt the TAT )
  3. I would think placement would matter. Stan's sig here in black sharpie on ASM #28, for example, would make the grade of the sig fall for me, since you can't see it well. Also, he had a penchant for signing right over Spidey's face...that would have to matter.
  4. I was assuming it's not grading the sig's authenticity, but its quality. Like Stan Lee's sigs would get worse and worse as the day went on(get this guy a new sharpie!) and as his age increased, but some of his sigs looked like he used a stamp, which would be "A" grade sigs to me.
  5. What color will the label be if the book is restored and the sigs are authenticated? Black and yellow with a purple stripe?
  6. eBay's item descriptions have abruptly disappeared on like half their listings. If you look at an item, then scroll down to the description you see this wonderful image: This started a few DAYS ago. Response from eBay? "There is currently not an approximate fix date for this, but this issue is expected to be fixed as soon as possible." Meanwhile, eBay sellers everywhere are scouting out cardboard boxes to live in...
  7. He said there was crazy weather, but he didn't say he was flooded. Still...mother nature...
  8. Just had a Ground Advantage package to Houston that showed "out for delivery" yesterday suddenly change to "return to sender", and that it could not be delivered "as addressed". I'm sure it's some fluke. I looked on Google Maps and the house is easily accessible and is not in a gated community or anything. I reassured my customer that we would just resend it out at our charge when it gets back to us. Weird. EDIT: Customer just notified me he went to his local PO to ask about this and they had the package there. Probably just entered incorrectly into the system by the driver. *WHEW*
  9. They tell you not to tape over the barcodes, but ever since we started taping over just the very bottom of the barcode(so they can still scan if the laser printed barcode gets rubbed off), we haven't had anything go off tracking or get "lost". We used to use USPS insurance, and high value items invariably got delayed. Once we started using ShipCover insurance, packages seem to go right through.
  10. My ads for rare items usually go like this: Watchers climb quickly for the first week. I get one, maybe two lowball offers in the first week to two weeks. New watchers slowly dwindle over the next month. No new offers. Months(oftimes years) go by. A watcher comes, a watcher goes. Someone buys it out of the clear blue for full price with no offer made. Rinse. Recycle. Repeat.
  11. 6 watchers thus far... 1. Adamantium 2. Get Marwood & I 3. ganni 4. Capt Kirk 5. Awe4One 6. My other ID
  12. It's time. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
  13. Well, hell has frozen over...the entire set is on eBay.
  14. I used "report buyer" when I got my feedback removed. Guy wanted a partial refund and said he would leave "appropriate feedback" if I didn't give it to him. I, of course, offered a full refund upon return. He left scathing, utterly untrue feedback that lasted all of 24 hours.
  15. Make sure eBay is aware of the feedback extortion. They will remove the neg! They recently did that for me.
  16. Here is one of my trouble children who just popped up again today. The thing is, he makes reasonable offers. But, I have had so many issues with him returning, canceling, backcharging cards(after shipment!!!), eBay deregistering him and canceling the sale(after shipment!!!). He lives in the Phillipines and uses a reshipper out of Illinois(This is how I spot him when he starts up a new ID). I've talked to him a bunch of times. He's the nicest guy in his messages and some of the sales have actually stuck, he's just trouble. I ban anyone with 0 feedback from either Des Plaines or Arlington Heights Illinois. Aliases: Mike Mandas, Mixali Mantis The IDs he's used so far: jitsrun56, mixmav0, mjerro_30, mjinsert_6, rarepric49, revelatio-18
  17. Thanks for proving my point that some take all of this way too seriously by attempting to destroy my argument point-by-point MONTHS after it was posted. Even though it has become a business for me, I still want my collecting to be fun. Unless CGC is proven to be ripping people off purposely, I still think they can have an important place in the hobby. Maybe what we need to take away from this is that CGC is not the God of comic book grading(which they never should have been looked at that way in the first place). They are mostly accurate, and their grades should boost value, just not as inflated as its been(says a guy who has too many CGC books in his inventory).
  18. Just picked this up. I just like double stuff...
  19. Two watchers on it. One is Cosmic Spidey and #2 is probably the owner of the other 9.8 double cover.
  20. It does not. But there are no signs of damage in and around the staple so I believe it was never inserted(since what kid carefully cuts the insert out just to get to the tattz?). A double error?
  21. Well, I finally found my favorite issue with a double cover and newsstand(as it was when I bought it from my local convenience store in 1983!) SO... that means my 9.8 direct has been moved to my business inventory! Just put it on today!
