  1. Hmmph. I have a set of 1-6 all 9.8. No grades higher until this. I had to look that one up. Now you have me worried. I hate to jump on the bandwagon here but... It seems unfair to give a book a higher grade just because of a miswrap. The white strip of the back cover showing on the front could be the reason you can't see any wear. Longshot 5 was also printed without the usual black border line. For all we know if it had been printed with the border line and not miswrapped, this could have been a 9.2-9.4 copy...or less. ^Note the black line showing on the edge of the back cover. Total miswrap...
  2. I just sent off a nice Hulk 180 to be graded and tracking shows it went from Portland to Alaska...Alaska??? Alaska is the opposite of Florida!
  3. Since 1999, I've had ONE package "lost". And I put Dr. Evil quotations on that since it went to "Status not Updated" and the buyer said they never received it. It's still possible it got there and the buyer took advantage of a tracking error(book for free---BONUS!). Every other time a package was not delivered for some reason it came back to me.
  4. Ah, so that's what CGC staffers do during the delay.
  5. Yep. They're gone... Pretty happy the set stayed together though. The guy said they are going right into his collection and he's super happy.
  6. Sorry, it's jitsrl-6, no "0" in front of the "6".
  7. New ID for this guy: jitsrl-06. New alias for this ID: "EMMANUELS ANGELS"
  8. All of their ads disappeared, not just ended early. Like gone from existence. eBay got involved.
  9. Both the 252 and 301 9.8s look suspect to me. Not 9.8s...
  10. I've been accused of having my prices too high. But, a book is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. GPA is not the "bible" on how much something will sell for, it only tells you what it has sold for. And does not take into account mitigating factors like sold at auction, or "given away" at fixed price. That's why GPA is really only useful for popular books like ASM 300 or Hulk 181. Most of my items are rare error, insert or signed books so I do ask a premium for these and am(usually) patient to wait for the right buyer(not a "sucker"). Users have quoted GPA on some of my rare items, which I find pretty amusing. I just had someone tell me a page out of Detective Comics #27 is "worthless". SO you're saying you can afford the entire book, eh? That said, sellers who place items on eBay just to show off their collection do annoy me. It's ostentatious just to place it at a ridiculous fixed price, but it's even worse to put best offer on it! Do they care how rude it is to put something out there that people would love to buy, only to auto decline their more than reasonable offers? I do not have limits on any of my books. You can offer one cent if you want(but don't please, ).
  11. I'll remember that the next time I submit. I just figured "when in doubt, separate it out".
  12. A little confused. I submitted this book separately for JSA Autograph Authentication. But I noticed it has been grouped together with the other 7 Moderns I submitted and the total charged to my card was $25 less than I expected(seems like $20 is for shipping and $5 is for handling? but the $22.50 charge for authentication still stands?). Is this still going to be authenticated as I originally submitted, @MattM CS?
  13. Delivered 5/14 One of the moderns is a signature authentication. We will see...
  14. Nothing in this life is perfect. I've had a couple of mistakes myself, but CGC always takes care of me every time. Instead of posting your issues(playing victim), why not give them a chance to fix it first?
  15. Just sent in this as a tester. No, I did not get the sig graded, it's pretty obvious it's a vintage Romita sig. I'll post the results when it gets shipped!(Figured greasing the wheels with a potential glowing review couldn't hurt the TAT )
  16. I would think placement would matter. Stan's sig here in black sharpie on ASM #28, for example, would make the grade of the sig fall for me, since you can't see it well. Also, he had a penchant for signing right over Spidey's face...that would have to matter.
  17. I was assuming it's not grading the sig's authenticity, but its quality. Like Stan Lee's sigs would get worse and worse as the day went on(get this guy a new sharpie!) and as his age increased, but some of his sigs looked like he used a stamp, which would be "A" grade sigs to me.
  18. What color will the label be if the book is restored and the sigs are authenticated? Black and yellow with a purple stripe?
  19. eBay's item descriptions have abruptly disappeared on like half their listings. If you look at an item, then scroll down to the description you see this wonderful image: This started a few DAYS ago. Response from eBay? "There is currently not an approximate fix date for this, but this issue is expected to be fixed as soon as possible." Meanwhile, eBay sellers everywhere are scouting out cardboard boxes to live in...
  20. He said there was crazy weather, but he didn't say he was flooded. Still...mother nature...
  21. Just had a Ground Advantage package to Houston that showed "out for delivery" yesterday suddenly change to "return to sender", and that it could not be delivered "as addressed". I'm sure it's some fluke. I looked on Google Maps and the house is easily accessible and is not in a gated community or anything. I reassured my customer that we would just resend it out at our charge when it gets back to us. Weird. EDIT: Customer just notified me he went to his local PO to ask about this and they had the package there. Probably just entered incorrectly into the system by the driver. *WHEW*
