Grading on the Vintage side of my submission was MUCH harder than the Modern side. I can't help but wonder if the Vintage grader had just been told his wife was leaving him right before his shift and that the grader who evaluated the Modern submission just got engaged. Both batches were from the same collection and graded similarly by me. The starkest difference was in page quality. Most of the Vintage came out OW/W, some even OW, while the Modern batch ALL came out with white pages. A Vintage example of a book I graded 8.5: A Modern example of a book I graded 8.5: Not complaining of course, but I just wish I had the happy grader on the Vintage side...

This reminds of the scene in Lethal Weapon 2 when Leo Getz is explaining how he was scamming drug dealers dealing with billions of dollars. "I was scamming those guys for months! Millions of dollar transactions, all in small bills. Who's gonna miss 10,000 here, 20,000 there?" "Drug dealers" "That's right. They did."

They could put those little white stickers with metal in them that Walmart puts on high theft items. You know the ones that if you try to take them off stab your finger? That way alarms will go off back at CGC if you try to open the case at home and leave you running to the bathroom for a Band-Aid while your house is raided by 20 guys from Virginia! (Probably cost-prohibitive, however...)
