What do you guys think of oddities like these? Where one of the covers is a huge miswrap as well? I kinda like it cuz normally you can't actually SEE the book is a double cover. Of course, then there's the dreaded green label of death.

Just got this at auction. Love that Keith Pollard cover. This makes 5 double cover/Mark Jewelers in my collection. This will go with my Amazing Spidey 281 dc/mji in my vault.

No, the shadow on that one was a mirage. I eventually found a copy at a great price on Atomic Avenue(hadn't bought from that site in a LONG time).

Got the final two today! I am now 100% on Amazing Spider-Man NDS and MJ inserts! I got all the jewels now, I'm OG...

Just picked up a high grade ASM #268 Newsstand, will probably get it pressed and graded. My childhood(10-17 yo) ASM run was 235-328, so this was a prime time book for me. I loved the storyline involving Spidey's moral dilemma whether to keep the gold notebook or not.

More proof CGC is spread microscopically thin right now...

Stored inside a pizza box, but still has white pages! And whether you store it in a hermetically sealed container or a pizza box, it's still a crazy rare double cover of the first full and greatest Venom cover of all time!!! Congrats!

Nice! 4.5 seems a bit harsh on that 26. My theory has been that when the covers were bound, the machine that grabbed them tended to hang up and that's why multiple covers occurred in the first place...that grabbing on the older machines in the 60's/70's may have been what caused the extra cover to get torn on that corner?

Also just upgraded one of my favorite books of all time: ASM #312. Went from a 9.8 with a 9.0 outer cover to a 9.8 with a 9.6 outer cover. Selling my old one. (I also have a raw double cover of this issue)

Wondering about this one I picked up recently. It's got the missing torn off corner piece that I've often seen on inner covers(anyone know if this was a bindery thing?). The piece has been replaced. So how would CGC grade this? Obviously the outer cover would be the higher grade, but how can CGC classify it as "7.5 restored grade" when I could just remove the inner cover and the book would be an unrestored 7.5 single cover? Regardless, I think it would be better to remove the piece and try to go for a blue label. Oh, and it had sold at auction for $300, but I guess the winner didn't pay. Then after the seller relisted it I got it for less than $200. My only Silver Age ASM double cover!

Just got these two back: Both with WHITE pages! Saw two #174s pop up on MCS, but they sold in 6 minutes! Bet ganni got 'em...

I grew up in Richmond. I'm not surprised. Either by the theft or that he got caught.

I think we're pretty lucky to work in a field where there really isn't a black market for what we sell. The only place they could sell our books are on eBay. And the CGC cases that make these things worth ridiculous amounts of money are numbered, so it's not really enticing to the EVIL people out there to steal them. "They're all CHEATS and LIARS!"

This is all very interesting. We use USPS(First Class or Priority) for anything under $500. Anything over that we have ALWAYS used FedEx and have NEVER had an issue with a package being majorly delayed, lost or stolen. We are talking hundreds of books and lots of books from $500-$6000 over the past five years or so! Not. One. Problem. Logically, doesn't it make sense that a company that can be sued would take better care of their clients than an entity of the government that doesn't care a lick about their customers??? If something did go wrong, wouldn't it be easier to get a claim back from a private company than the government? Last I checked, the government liked to take money more than give it. Is it FedEx Ground that's the problem? We have never used that option. On eBay, they give sellers HUGE discounts on FedEx 1 and 2 Day and they always get it there faster then the supposedly "faster" USPS options. The only issue we have ran into is packages being returned to us because the buyer is unavailable to sign or pick up. I'd much rather have issues like that than the tracking stating delivered but the customer never actually got it(this has occurred a few times using USPS Priority or Express Mail). Yes, I know that eBay considers the item "delivered" and we're not on the hook for it, but we run a business with a lot higher integrity than eBay...

Standard tier. Received 6/14, still SFG. When I picked the tier it was about two weeks out. Every time I check the TAT it moves out to where it's always 2 weeks before I could even start to complain. At this rate, I feel like it could look like this close to a year from now(and I would still be two weeks out before I could contact someone):

This is hilarious. I requested FedEx Ground on a less expensive 3 issue lot I sent in because I didn't want to wait a month for it to get back to me and I just notice it got shipped USPS Registered.

I have a DC Comics Presents #26 with the insert, considering that the 16 page New Teen Titans preview is in that book, I was surprised when I found it. Truer words were never spoken...

I'll be one step closer if the #174 I just bought and is out for delivery has the insert. There was a shadow in the pic that looked like the telltale insert lower staple location, I'll let you all know how that goes. Then after I find #339...

I'm down to just 2 in my Amazing Spidey MJI collection. Just picked up #160, 164, 167. All I need is #174 and unfortunately #339(found out the copy I had was not legit...it was the one bound upside down. I looked closer and found extra staple holes--- ).
