  1. This piece rocks. Captian Cold is my favorite Flash villian. While I agree the page lay out invokes a Silver Age feel, the smoothest of the art could easily place it in the Bronze Age for me.
  2. Nice books Mysterio. Never really followed that series, but always wanted the first issue.
  3. Thanks Rube 11. I really love ASM covers where the primary background color is yellow.
  4. Who has some new Bronze Age Spideys to share?
  5. Yes, that's a seriously nice page. I always love an artist that adds the details.
  6. That looks like a bag from a fast food joint. Wonder what places were open in 1946? you're from new york and you don't recognize the white castle logo? well the logo has changed since the 1940s though. Actually, I don't think I have ever eaten White Castle. I'm a southern boy. Good find though. I knew someone would know exactly what it was from.

  8. Nice copies. Love the silver ink on the black. (thumbs u
  9. It is a great cover....but her a s s is kinda square looking? I can see why they went with the other cover for sure. I do like this one better myself, but you really don't get the full effect of the Black Cat here.
  10. Ok, I have a copy but it's probably VF or so. I don't own this, but thought this was kind of neat.
  11. Awesome book. Does that look like Romita to everyone else? Not sure myself. I was wondering about that too. Grand Comics Database even has a note about it: "Cover pencil credit confirmed by Bill Richardson (February 6, 2008) based on the signed original art and confirmed by John Romita. Nick Caputo, via the GCD Error Tracker (Error 2918), suggests the Sal Buscema pencils credit on the basis of the Spider-Man figure." GCD Link Well, at least someone else thought it looked non-Romitasque.

  13. Did anyone do Bronze Age Spider-Man covers better than Romita? I don't think so.
  14. Horror never was my genre growing up, so a lot of these wonderful covers are new to me. Great books everyone.
  15. I stopped my run at issue 600. I still have everything, but just lost the enjoyment. For my run to be complete, it had to include the price variants, which took me a few years to track down.
  16. I read everything you wrote about the indicia. I am not saying it is not cool. I am not saying it is not rare. But, I would still bet it is Canadian. There are a lot of GK examples like this. Guess I'm in the same boat as SheildAgent. Regardless though, great find. I love these finds.
  17. Is it a Canadian Edition or is it a variant?
  18. And likewise to Loki. Fast payment, great communications, and all around great transaction.
  19. Don't know about the Truly Tasteless book, but the book you refer to as Dances with Cows is actually issue #21 of Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children. It's not really rare. Yeah, that sounds about right. Haven't looked at that one since I bought it. Anyone know about the Truly Tasteless and Tacky #1? It has Hitler and Elvis on the cover, IIRC. I guess I reread the thread title and it's not an 80's book, but would be curious.
  20. Ok, I have a few books I must have bought around 1990ish. Not sure if they are rare are not, but will through them out there: Truly Tasteless and Tacky 1 (Caliber Comics seems to be the publisher) Dances with Cows (wife must have made me buy this one)
  21. Best bet is just send them to me, I'll take really good care of them. till yer mom gives them to me again One day I'll move me and my collection out of her basement, yeah one day ...
