  1. Best bet is just send them to me, I'll take really good care of them.
  2. Nice blog Craig. Nah, sharing info with geeks is not pimpage.
  3. Wait, should I be worried if I bought something from someone on the list? Could I be a second-hand victim to whomever the original offender is?
  4. Very nice Non-Comic Code Trifecta there Twisty1.
  5. Some people are blaming this downward movement of bronze on pressing. I guess I'm not educated enough to know if this the case or not.
  6. Big Thanks to Trey Cannon for a nice ASM 583 2nd Print. Fast shipping too.
  7. Matt, probably should just stop posting on this and move on.
  8. Wait, aren't you at work? I'm now confused. I haven't taken a break all day and I went to CVS and got a box of dye and had a friend help me. its all done now..im a platinum blonde now! watch out! Duly noted!
  9. I agree 100% I understand the silence completely. First, there's enough gray here where nobody will really ever know the whole story (except those involved and those PM'd) -- and at the end of the day, this will blow over and everyone will forget. Second, if there's no plausible explanation, and it will end up just being picked apart, what's the point of coming on here and offering an explanation? How does it help them? It doesn't. At the end of the day, the smart move is to stay silent publicly. The reality is, few people will care or fail to do business either party -- so in the end, while there were hundreds of views, if the parties stay silent, eventually, this really has no where to go. Guess I disagree with this. I will probably not do business with the seller ever because of what has been written so far (whether that is fair or not). If the seller did all the stuff Matt says, why not come out and say, "You know what, I screwed up. I'm sorry Matt. Not sure what I was thinking guys, but it won't happen again". I've seen this board forgive worse.
  10. Seems like this sort of thing happens more often in the OA community. Matt, I'm sorry this happened to you. You seem like a good guy. Would love to hear from the seller.
  11. Don't like her shoes though.. Yeah. Too much like Robin Hood's; would be better in heels She's wearing shoes? Didn't even notice.
  12. Since the COAs are numbered and I have seen one in the 6000s, I'm going to assume the numbers are independent. So total =6,500+1,000+300+325+79
  13. Here are the five different versions offered by Dynamic Forces, Inc. with the official Certificate of Authenticity title below each one. "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic as one of a specially limited series of sixty five hundred copies. "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic "Sketch Cover" as one of a specially limited series of three hundred copies drawn by classic Spider-Man artist John Romita, Sr. "Marvel Authentix: Amazing Spider-Man #1", as one of a specially limited series of seventy nine copies signed and re-marked with a Spider Sense Head Sketch by John Romita. "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic as one of a specially limited series of one thousand copies signed by Stan Lee. "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic "Sketch Cover" as one of a specially limited series of three hundred twenty five copies drawn and signed by classic Spider-Man artist John Romita, Sr. and signed by artist extraordinaire,John Romita,Jr. and Spider-Man co-creator, Stan Lee.
  14. I'll throw all the pictures up tonight. Yes, any books that were not witnessed by CGC and have some writing on them (sketch, signature, etc.) would receive a green qualified label. Those are the 76 issues I list above. Yes, it looks like they started with two different designations and then just stuck with one.
  15. There is a lot of confusion on this one. I think part of that confusion is also driving the price. The white cover has been come to be accepted as the "Sketch" cover. There were 6500 printed and came with a COA stating: "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic as one of a specially limited series of sixty five hundred copies. This book was released 12/16/98. In January 1999, Marvel released a version with John Romita sketching the box with a Spider-Man head shot. There were 300 printed and came with a COA stating: "Amazing Spider-Man #1" Marvel Authentix Limited Edition Comic "Sketch Cover" as one of a specially limited series of three hundred copies drawn by classic Spider-Man artist John Romita, Sr." After this, there were also signed versions by Stan Lee, another Romita sketch version, and one signed by Stan, John, and John, Jr. All of these though are the same white cover as the 6500 printed run. So, there is only one cover of the Authentix book. It has been signed and sketched on. Not sure why CGC lists these seperately. If you look under the 'Marvel Authentix: Amazing Spider-Man #1 Marvel Authenix Sketch Cover' listing in the census, you will see 76 qualified issues, which are most likely the sketched upon and signed (non-witnessed) books. I have asked what the 'Marvel Authentix: Amazing Spider-man #1' books were, but never received an answer. Lastly, I feel because of this sketch label, prices seem unreasonable high on this book with a 6500 print run. Maybe because the original Romita sketch issues were going for good money, that confusion set in, and now everyone thinks this is a $100 book? Anyway, hope this helps.
  16. I love this issue. When I was a lad, my brother picked up issue #150 but we missed issue #151 and #152 and I started collecting ASM at 153 on. I ordered several issues through mail order. It was hit or miss back then, but my 151 and 152 were nice books. Alas, they did not fair too well in my young hands. Several years past and I upgraded several issues, 151 being one of them. I finally sent my uprgraded #151 in to cgc grading and it came back a 9.4. Would have thought 9.6, but I'm happy with it.
  17. Art was Romita in 119 and Kane and Romita in 120, so yeah, it was good. I always liked Romita better than Kane, and Romita was really in his prime during this period (see ASM 108, 109). The story is good, not great IMHO. It really leads into some bigger storylines with Peter going to Canada to met with a lawyer about an urgent topic. Spidey ends up fighting the Hulk, but it's not one of those underdog wins stories. He's clearly mismatched, and it's more about survival. Here is a link to a review: Review of ASM #119
  18. most likely nothing. and why should they? Let's see, the OP is using this platform to collect money with the intended desire to put someone out of business. I'm no lawyer, but I guess if I were them, I'd at least want to have some passing knowledge of the situation.
  19. list of tradebait sent via PM Hoarder! Tell your Grandma I want my variants back!
