  1. Outstanding. I always loved the Flash's Rogues Gallery.
  2. Coup de grace. Unless you plan to overthrow the government, that is. To each his own. Plus it was closer to what he had.
  3. Coup d'état. Yes, excellent pick ups. I bought an ASM 5, with the upper half of the cover missing for $12 several years back.
  4. You might as well finish 26-39, since you have many already. Though the Looter issue is a dud, IMHO. But on the back end is the first Romita Green Goblin.
  5. No, everyone will be afraid of spiders. At least that's what my buddy Goodman said. I say you unload that worthless rag. I'll free up room in your collection and give you cover price for it.
  6. There is a good article in the Comic Book Marketplace about this. From this article, it sounded more like a theory, with some very well thought out arguments. Summary, one of the two stories from ASM 1, and two or three back up stories from some of the other titles of the day were to be in AF 16. If anyone is interested, I can dig up the article and get a few more facts from it.
  7. There was a page of Amazing Spider-Man 135 that was used as pages 13-14 that sold back in 2004 like this. I believe the seller cited a very similar story that you are quoting from Tony Isabella.
  8. I special shout out to MutantKeys for the two minty ASM 538 Midtown comics issues. Thanks for the effort.
  9. Nice ASM 13. Man, I have to upgrade one of these days.
  10. Nice book. Okay, did anyone else just find the whole Doc Ock - Aunt May affair a tadbit bizarre.
  11. Yes, and I even include the Giant-Sizes, as well, but that's just me. Ditto! But to each their own... as a collector friend & I argue about this all the time. He doesn't worry about the Annuals as far as completion, while I do. I mean, how can you have a Spidey collection without the Sinister Six - or Spidey vs Dracula!?!?! I'll throw in the two Spectacular Spider-Man Magazines as well. To me, they all live in the same big Spidey family. Of course, then variants are another beast entirely........
  12. Yes, and I even include the Giant-Sizes, as well, but that's just me.
  13. Well, in this day and age, what one calls a variant is subjective. But I think Harry does do a good job of laying out his case. One of the things I like over at STL is the galleries, especially on the variant side. Makes tracking things down like this easy. Plus some good peps over there as well.
  14. Here is some additional info: Modern Discount Marvels
  15. Very nice run Element. This is the period that started me running on ASM. I took my older brothers 148 and 150, and never missed another issue from 153 on.
  16. Very nice bronze run. I've got to get going on getting some graded. Man, do I love the cover to ASM 148. Something about the blue just hits right.
  17. Not sure on that one, but mine is definitely a square (i.e. not fading or tanning). scan...? It's in a Fortress and the whole thing will not fit my scanner. I'll try to scan the area in question later this morning.
  18. Not sure on that one, but mine is definitely a square (i.e. not fading or tanning).
  19. My copy of issue 6 is colored a little difference than this one. If you look at the brick, it is grey where Spidey and the Lizard are fighting and is tannish to the outside, and the grey runs from top to bottom. The grey on mine is just a little square going from the "E" in the word The and going across to the letter "M" in Comics (across the bottom) and going up to just above Spider-Man's head. I assumed it was meant as some kind of highlight effect, but looks like there is some printing variation at work. Anyone else notice this before?
  20. Ok, ASM 97 is my all-time favorite Spider-Man cover. Classic. I think it's elegance is in it's simplistic aprroach. I wouldn't even put the one circle on it. Now, ASM 98, I can never get over the fact that Spider-Man is drawn incorrectly and Kane's goblin glider always looks like the wings are backward.
  21. I would drink an ocean of Satan's urine to have that. What is it? This is the All Detergent Give Away of Amazing Spider-Man 184. It is fairly tough to find. This copy doesn't have the sticker , as it was peeled off, like all the other copies I have seen.
  22. I tried to scan my issue # 6, but the fortress it is in wouldn't fit on the scanner. If this thread keeps going, I'll get off my lazy butt and scan something.
