  1. I wonder if anyone ever won that 10 speed racer that defaced so many of our comic covers? 😆
  2. Is that the one where she tells the fairytale? She named the dragon lockheed didn’t she, is that a first appearance or is it when she meets the actual dragon?
  3. It would be nice if everyone could agree to a consistent standard to minimize subjectivity. It seems like everyone is based on overstreet but has their own secret recipe on top of it. The real value of grading, I think, is in having pros detect restoration, trimming, etc. Things you can’t see in pictures. That’s what draws me to them, for expensive older books at least.
  4. Isn’t that what the original grading is for? Maybe we should start a new service that grades and encapsulates slabs 😄
  5. I shouldn’t have quoted you as I was more responding to the thread in general, I apologize. I’ve never used pgx, I’ve never even seen one in real life. I have used the other service and was satisfied with the grading. If anything I found them to be stricter than cgc 🤷‍♂️
  6. If selling them is the main reason you buy them you may be right. If you just want to collect a high grade preserved copy then one of those other services is a viable choice. I trust their grading. It’s not the one that starts wit a ‘p’. I know this is a cgc board but why trash the other companies? If people like them let them use them, competition is good for consumers, right? 🙂
  7. Has GX1 settled on a value or is it still rising? Maybe 94’s ascent will mirror that?
  8. I’ve been thinking about this lately. It used to be they’d reprint a comic if it sold out and there was still demand. That makes sense. Now it seems like every issue of a series gets 2nd and 3rd prints, sometimes 5 or more. These seem to be planned before the first print even comes out. Not to mention all of the variant covers. Why do they continually reprint when they earlier prints ate still available?
  9. Didn’t they sell eight MILLION of these? Can you imagine that happening now? I believe it though, I know I bought one of each cover and everyone I knew did the same. They’ve all been sitting in bags and boards since. What were we thinking? 😄
  10. Murderworld was probably the weirdest idea Claremont ever had 😆 I love those days of futures past books, I’ve always wanted those
  11. Yeah she was a vampire stripper in the show, so... The show itself wasn’t that great.
  12. So have their standards changed? If so, does that not invalidate the grades on older slabs? Or is just our imagination? I’ve heard other people saying they seem to be stricter lately on youtube. Grading lives or dies on consistency.
  13. Is cgc grading harshly at the moment? I rarely send anything in but I was planning on sending some this weekend, not sure if I want to if they’re undergrading
  14. That’s really pretty! Looks like a watercolor painting
  15. Check her out in the dusk til dawn tv show. That’s the first time I ever saw her. Yowza...
  16. It does look like it. 🤔 That’s Hawk on this cover, right?
  17. Should it have an insert? I didn’t know that either.
  18. at 1900 or 2500, time for my weekly amazed face Where do you think it will settle? I’m tempted to sell but I don’t want to sell too soon
  19. I would guess Duke, even though the uniform is wrong. Cool to have, congrats! 🙂
  20. Midtown has Eniac 2 for sale online this morning, looks like it may be easier to get than 1? https://www.midtowncomics.com/product/1995363
  21. I’ve been trying to organize my childhood books, I found my Alf 1 unbagged and decided to bag and board it. That’s how crazy these days are...
  22. I wonder if that will make this one more desirable?
