  1. I also grew up reading ASM by Andru, so I have to say that he's the best! And yes, Romita Sr is a close 2nd.
  2. When I see a comic that I am interested in buying but the seller uses the GSP, I hit the back button immediately. In my experience with the GSP, once I've overpaid on the two shipping charges, I've had this GSP "Shipping Hub" in Kentucky send me a box of comics to me in Canada where it is dropped off on my sundeck in the pouring rain with no signature required, nobody home. I've also had items arrive damaged using the GSP. All other non-GSP shipments arrive through Canada Post at my local Post Office where all my incoming comic book purchases should arrive. So I'm done with the GSP as a Canadian buyer, simply not worth it for me.
  3. Wow, that's a big loss for sure. I'll keep an eye out up here in the Sudbury area.
  4. Does your wife have a long lost sister because I think I'm married to her. my wife refuses to acknowledge that they even exist! my better half is the same way Is there a thread for wives who hate comic books?.... there must be My wife would be gone before my comic collection. You just tell her you were collecting comics when you met her, and you'll be collecting comics when she's gone. My wife detests all things comic-book related. So I give her an option. I hold up both of my hands as if they were weigh scales and say..."in this hand I play hockey and collect comic books. In the other hand are strippers and cocaine. Pick one."
  5. Love this back cover but the hypnosis doesn't really work..uh, according to my, er, buddy...
  6. "all you have"? That's a beautiful book you have there. Welcome to the boards
  7. Check to see if you have any of these comics as well...
  8. Assuming you are on the level here, the flashing white envelope is at the top of this page in the middle beside "my stuff". Clicking on it will bring you to "my messages"
  9. I'm still anxious to take him if he ever finds his way to Canada.
  10. Funny, I had an issue about a year ago with an order I placed with Chuck's establishment via eBay. Instead of resolving said issue, they blocked me from bidding on any more of their books ! Fine by me. MCS is much better, anyway.
  11. Awesome thread! I'll be travelling to one of our Plants in Williamsburg VA in the next few months. Now I have some comic shops to check out while I'm in the general area.
  12. Figure I should pipe in here with what I call a new Buyer low at eBay...for me anyway. "Sold" three different auctions within a week. 1st buyer (GREEN LANTERN 52 - $40) just ended up being a deadbeat bidder...no response. 2nd buyer (X-MEN 1 - 143 complete reprints - $400) says "d'uh gee Rocky I didn't know they were reprints I thought I was getting all the originals for $400!" and refuses to pay. 3rd buyer (ASM 227 to 240 - $160) shoots me a message this morning "not interested in the Hobgoblin books, thanks!". I would have posted this in that "add to blocked buyer list" thread but I can't find it. How about you guys? Do you find this happening more often?
  13. Bought some Bronze Age Thor comics from Jeff. This is my 2nd purchase from him and as usual, was a very speedy delivery. I am extremely happy with the books and look forward to my next purchase. Brian
  14. Bought BATMAN FAMILY 1 to 20 (less #6) and was very happy with the purchase. Thank you!
  15. Yup, thanks for the reminder. I certainly don't want to bump anyone on the list but I'll accept the Kraven anytime!
  16. You could have given them away as Christmas gifts in THIRDGREENHAM'S annual 2015 Christmas raffle
  17. Bought some books from Matt recently, great packaging, great grading, friendly guy. Looking forward to my next purchase from him.
  18. I purchased books from Steve twice now and am looking forward to the third time and subsequent times. Excellent seller, no concerns here!
  19. Bought about 20 UNCANNY X-MEN Bronze Age books from Chris. Grading was excellent as was the shipping time and packaging. Chris' friendliness is also hard to beat. Thanks again, Chris!
  20. I just purchased about a hundred UNCANNY X-MEN Bronze Age/Copper Age comics from Walter. His packaging was absolutely sensational. Honestly, I have NEVER seen anyone package a box of comic books like he did...about 15 comics each were carefully placed in a FedEx flexible paper-type envelope. Then they were all placed snugly in a box wrapped in bubble wrap. Then the box was surrounded by more bubble wrap and plastic peanuts and placed in a bigger box. His grading was amazing, many were actually under graded, in my opinion. Thanks again, Walter.
  21. I purchased three SA BATMAN books from Mike last month. His grading is amazing, his packaging is bomb-proof and his shipping time is lightning-fast. I just purchased a GA BATMAN book from him. Looking forward to the same excellence from Mike.
  22. Kraven is excited to be coming to Copper Cliff, Ontario. Perhaps he can trap some Mole Men in one of our underground mine sites.
  23. Add my name on the list as well, still don't see it on there.
  24. We had a heat warning issued up here over the weekend. It was 91 degrees F (33 degrees Celsius) here yesterday with the humidity making it feel like 104 degrees F (40 degrees Celsius). You'd have roasted up here as well.
  25. Ok pics gone. Replaced with this instead. Hopefully this is no relative of Kraven
