Let's talk about out-of-touch pricing and forum ettiquette.
William-James88 replied to Poekaymon's topic in Comics General
Its a cool book, definitelt sonething worth keeping. But you see, what happenned is fine and why I don't see a need to change anything. You know you priced it high and since you are a seller on these boards, I know that you know that. So I knew there was no point in me reaching out to get it lower or responding on tje thread. Didnt want to waste my time or yours. So i just kept a lookout for the book and bought it at a price/grade I liked better. In the end, we both get the book and didn't annoy eachother. -

But if it comes out to the same thing then why change the status quo? -

See, since I know that trick I instead ignore such listings. I just dont care to haggle. But in either case, that's oir choice to act as such. -

Yeah, i think that's good, if there is a big discrepency. But what I tend to do instead is simply point out the defect and ask about it. Then with that kind of attention brought to the defect, the thread is now aware of it and the seller can explain, change the grade or keep it as such and leave it unsold. -

Honestly, I feel people can do as they wish (either in pricing or discussing the price) and shouldnt be punished or told off in either scenario. -

Who is Batman's 2nd greatest villain?
William-James88 replied to johnnycoolxx's topic in Comics General
Well he clearly has it in the next issue which is still more than a year before the TV Show started so yeah, turns out i was misinformed. I love the yellow on the signal though. For a boy who grew up in the 90s, that symbol with the yellow is more iconic than the american flag. -

But the yellow emblem comes from the Adam West TV show no? -

Many people are still either not working or working from home. So more free time to surf and then there's that stimulus money too. people were hoping for deals in this pandemic, but instead it just brought more eyes onto the hobby and prices are going up across the board. These painted covers are beautiful and man these might be the cheapest silver age comics out there. Are the stories any good, I never heard of this guy. -
It's probably because it's late. But it took me way longer to get that than it should have.

Amazing question. I wonder this a lot but judging all of the stories out there, I would say his 2nd best is Two Face. I think it's a perfect fit -
No no. Firstly, it wasn't me (too bad, would have loved it to be me). The story is just that the person never responded to paypal when my friend made the claim that the book was not even close to as described. So Paypal closed the case in my friend's favour and refunded him the money while he also got to keep the book. Also, I realize this whole thread started 6 years ago. I went to check out the seller and he now lists all the resorations. So I guess he learnt his lesson somewhere. Also, no more deals there.

Comics may have started shipping again but Canada is now at a near breaking point with DC Comics. They broke off of Diamond, but their alternative is ridiculously pricey. Diamond, for all its faults, had a distribution center in Canada, making shipping as reasonable as it is in the US. But that does not seem to be the case for DC's new alternative. A local retailer shared on Facebook their shipping charge for a box shipment of weekly comics, which is now $100 USD (so $140 CAD) per box. More than ten times what shipping used to cost, so they say. If this is the new norm, then they will have to charge more than cover price for comics to make ends meet. Either that or not stock any more DC until DC finds a better solution, which would really suck for a ton of DC fans who don't want holes in their collection. So, to my fellow Canadian friends, I ask you what you are ready to do in this case. Will you buy your comics online instead (like from mycomicshop) and have them shipped, or would you be ok with paying more at the shop, or are you ok with a temporary drought if that's what it takes to send DC the message? This really are some crazy times in the industry, I truly hope this works out (especially since I am quite the Batman fan and could not wait to finally get someone other than Tom King on the book)

Yeah cause Kirby LOVED to sign right on covers....

Looks legit to me, 25$ is a hell of a deal for a sig of Jack that is different from everything else he ever did. -
Does anyone else have a problem with Comic Connect?
William-James88 replied to Hudson's topic in Comics General
eh, I kind of figured it out myself. I think we won in the same auction and I too paid right away (as one does). Everything was slow so it's not like I was surprised when it was taking a while. -
I have the same story for a Hulk 181. There wasnt resto but the comic was in much worse shape than described. He didn't get the nice comic he wanted but he got a free Hulk 181.

You might be right, since those creases break colour. Don't know, it's really between a 9.0 and 9.2, could go either way. I don't think pressing will make a difference though.

About F*&/%$?NG time I won this comic. Price was ok and already slabbed so I don't have to spend the 50$ myself. https://comiclink.com/Auctions/item.asp?back=%2FComicTrack%2FAuctions%2Fbids.asp&id=1408762 I am very happy with the page quality and the fact that the defect making it a lower grade do not detract at all from the awesome cover, which is the main appeal of this book anyway.
