  1. Oh man, way to open a can of worms. But to answer just from me, I am looking into pressing some books at the moment and I have found nothing appealing about the pressing service cgc offers. It's more costly, takes longer and at this point I have heard too many horror stories. Also, there are some books that I would like pressed and cleaned but not slabbed. And going elsewhere allows that.
  2. Dude, I'm right there with you. Easily my favourite GA books to collect. I found a great addition to my collection recently at mycomicshop of all places. https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?ItemID=51209848
  3. They don't? I thought they did, like in the ones here below. The data is in their database somewhere, they could include it in the census.
  4. The green label is if there would be a huge difference between the grade you'd get if you went for a blue label. In this case, there are lots of issues with the comic so it wont get green. @Kelgio82, I see this coming back as a 3.0 or thereabouts.
  5. The don't send it in. That corner could be enough to get a 9.2.
  6. I have seen discolouration on 8.0 books when that was their only problem. With this book though I see other issues like a slight tear at the lower staple. So I'd say something like 7.0-7.5
  7. The bleed is fine, it's not your main issue. The corners are your main concern here and them being blunted and worn would put this closer to an 8.0.
  8. 8.0, that colour breaking crease in the back will definitely hinder it. I would get it pressed though since it seems to not fall flat. It could get an 8.5 with a press.
  9. None. I would say the biggest detractors are the staple tear/crease on the lower staple, the bottom left corner and what appears to be a faint water droplet on the back cover at the top. If that is a water droplet, then the book will get a maximum of 7.0.
  10. I would feel comfortable buying this as a 6.0
  11. He was speaking in general to the public at large. And I get it, every day we see posts like this one where the person is not sure it's the right grade even though it was graded by a professional company which has set standards. And instead of people asking for help understanding why it is a certain grade, they instead go about it by saying that there's a mistake or something is wrong with the comic/slab. It can get a bit tiresome, hence the response.
  12. Your best bet is to call customer service, they are far more likely to have the answer than we are.
  13. If that is how the comic came out once produced initially, then a 9.6 would make perfect sense. Also a 9.6 book is not perfect, it can't be. hence why it isn't a 10.0, let alone a 9.8 which would still have a defect. So yeah if that's he only defect on your book, why woudn't it be a 9.6?
  14. you guys are making me wanna check my copy. One thing I don't get though, I thought that if a particular defect was the norm than it would be fine for a 9.8. Like the small tear at the bottom of ASM 361.
  15. No, that's a problem the comic had before grading. It does make for an unattractive book compared to other 9.2s out there but a 9.2 grade allows and production defects like this so it makes sense.
