  1. For some books, the keys and first character appearances, for sure. But not all. There are lots of rare golden age books that don`t have many collectors (ie Quality Comics, Fawcett Comics, King Comics) compared to others and those prices will probably remain the same or go up just slightly since there isn't as much demand compared to other properties that remain in the spot light.
  2. Before you start spending all that money on the pressing, you might want to check this out: Many have been going to other places to press their comics instead and then send them to CGC.
  3. Thanks man! I was surprised how affordable this issue still is. I preffer it to his first appearance since we get him spotlit on the cover.
  4. FYI' the overstreet guide referrs to a lengthwise colour break crease, as it's the examples shown. The CGC books that came back higher were non colour breaking. So they arent really at odds with eachother. It all depends on the kind of crease. If its colour breaking and the entire length, expect somewhere in the 4.0 range.
  5. Got back my winnings from the Mycomicshop auctions. That Brave and the Bold 29 3.0 presents itself really nicely for a lower grade.
  6. I started a thread since I found them super sketchy and someine gave the very same experience of cracking a book and grading it higher. Plus they often dont disclose restoration or pages missing. Soneone bought an Avengers 4 as a 4.0 and it came back 0.5 because a page was missing.
  7. I disagree, to me its a game of passion. I collect out of love for the stories, characters and creators. If you buy what you love, odds are you arent the only one who loves it and it will go up in value later. Or, if your into things others arent into, then even better because you get it for cheaper.
  8. I also love finding rare books that have either stayed the same or gone down in the past 10 years. there are books I thought I would never get that actually went down to a reasonable level. And due to inflation, a book that hasnt gone up in price is technically cheaper now than it was then.
  9. That's gorgeous. But yeah, the chipping will affect it. I'd feel comfortable with a 6.0
  10. 9.2 or higher. The top left hand corner doesn't look as sharp as the others.
  11. These grades seem awful high with the staple pull. CGC`s been rather tough on that defect in the past. I'd say 7.5
  12. Definitely misleading and it becomes a bit more trivial when you have to precise it that way, especially with quotation marks, removing any added wow factor. It being a 10 is amazing enough, you don't have to add more to it.
  13. It does, hence why everyone said supply and demand. But you asked about back issues and the thing with back issues is they all have a history of sales. So for 99.99999% of books, you know how much it sold for in the recent past and have an idea of what it is worth. If you are selling to a dealer, the dealer will of course take that same value and then apply their margin to it (like if it's a key book, they may buy it at 60% of that value but if it's not they could buy it at .05% of the value) at their digression.
  14. CGC may grade it slightly higher but sold as a raw book, this is a GD (aka 2.0). This book won't get qualified, there is too much wear and tear.
  15. That final fight with Senty is the best example I have seen of lazy pencilling. It ends up looking like that left hand side pic you posted above, making what would have been the climactic moment look like diarrhea.
  16. sounds like a waste But I do get the idea of wanting the added authenticity confirmation.
  17. Yeah that's what they will say, however the grade will suffer greatly because of it. Might not be worth getting this graded.
