  1. Yeah but at the same time, it might decrease the demand since you can't see the error anymore.
  2. It has 0% chance of getting a 5.0 due to the length wide colour breaking crease. It's a 4.0 with or without spine roll since the crease is your biggest detractor, not the roll.
  3. It's not. Looks like extra staples were added, you can even see that they are different types.
  4. Right, I saw that later. I'm not surprised. CGC grades rough against staining (as they should) and thus a very nice book that is slightly stained can end up the same grade aa a book with more noticeable defects like your DD 8.
  5. You would have to take the comic out of the bag and take a pic of the front and back
  6. 4.0 at most. But CGC could even go down to 3.5, they are tough on stains.
  7. I wouldn't call that issue a bindery tear.
  8. I was hoping we could talk about Neal Adams but it looks like that would be a different era.
  9. For sure, i was just answering the topic which only referred to art. I see many people bringing up the writing, creativeness and impact on story that these different artists had but I was approaching it simply from the art standpoint where I find them rather similar. By that I mean the art is as good and helps tell the story just as well. What's memorable to me are the stories more than the art style itself. (Unlike, say, Batman Hush where that book's popularity lies mostly with the art).
  10. Well if it helps, I got acquainted with that art in 2010 amidst everything else that was. So their art did not appear to break free from the crowd. It just looked like standard proportions to me. Well done for sure, but nothing I could pick from a line up if they drew a scene I was unfamiliar with. Unlike Miller, Simonson, or the aforementioned Bolland. Not saying Miller is a better artist, he is not, but his style is more recognizable to me. Also I thought Perez was picked for Superman to indicate to readers that the title was returning to a more classic and familiar feeling, that alone tells me that his art is not that distinctive when compared to other artists.
  11. It looks good, but that doesn't mean that the company would give you the COA. Just sell it the same way the person sold it to you with the pic and all, it's the only proof you have anyway.
  12. Yes it is common, CGC grades are very off from anything being sold raw at commic connect, for instance. But that doesn't make CGC wrong, it means the dealer overgraded or missed something. The dealer can say whatever they want. But not CGC, they have to conform to their guidelines across the board, hence the grading notes. And those help, by the way. Judging from the notes, the Conan book could not get higher after pressing since there is staining, which pressing wont remove. Pressing is mainly good at one big thing, getting rid of non colour breaking creases. there's more of course (like slight folds at corners and light dirt and getting rid of markings if someone wrote on a piece of paper with the comic under it), but that's the one that will have the biggest impact on the book most of the time. So for your books, it might be good for the Iron man and Submariner book but even then if the spine stress they speak of has colour breaks, then the pressing wont fix that, nor the tanning. It will however fix the light creases. How much would that impact the book, I don't know, we'd have to see it.
  13. I'd say that applies for raw books in general. I never buy a raw book that claims it's higher than 9.2 and expects me to pay premium.
  14. The demand is only going to escalate as the netflix show approaches. I'd get it slabbed now but wait a bit to sell it.
  15. It's all a matter of point of view. When I bid on heritage, I consider my total price to be my bid, since that's what I'll pay. So I'd say its the same. My 1k bid on heritage is not subject to more fees, I don't get what you mean by that. Here's let's give an actual example, my bid on this book was 89$, that's what it sold for and that's what and I paid. https://comics.ha.com/itm/silver-age-1956-1969-/superhero/showcase-35-the-atom-dc-1961-condition-fn-/a/122015-13362.s Same as I would e-bay.
