  1. I hate the CBCS verification label. The red makes it look like it's an error. I wish they had picked a different colour, it's enough to make me want to simply not use the service at all.
  2. This comics looks great, but not sure just how great, so thoughts are appreciated. Cheers!
  3. Being told no gives me Vietnam style flashbacks from my high school dances. HAHAHA
  4. I got another one for you. It's exactly the type you like, more expensive than several numbered issues preceding it and solely because of the cover and no other key aspect to it. And what a wonderful cover it is! I don't collect Plastic Man and even I want this comic.
  5. I've been seeing different results lately. Here's one I was participating in for instance that ended a few days ago. Both 9.2s sold for the same amount.
  6. Can confirm that's not the case for the Whiz Comics one. The only one from the Whiz comics run that sells a lot higher just because of the cover is Whiz Comics 153. It sells for 5 times the price of Whiz comics 152
  7. I only grade books where a small difference in grade will make a big difference in worth.
  8. I really appreciate how concise yet thorough this answer was, thanks!
  9. Part of me does find it fun, in a very cynical way, to buy CGC'd books at cheaper than it actually cost to slab them. But it can still be a waste of money if the book is worthless anyway. So here's one I was curious about. I can currently buy this Edge of Venomverse 3 comics (first appearance of Host Rider... yay?) in 9.4 for 17$. Cheap for sure, but might still be a waste of money. Let me know if you,'d buy this if the opportunity presented itself or if you would avoid it.
  10. Those look exactly like the ones he signed for me. Enjoy your books!
  11. Was looking at some auctions and came across this book which Heritage graded as VF+ (8.5). But it has staining all along the top of the cover, which I thought couldn't give this an 8.5. Was wondering your thoughts on this. Also, no back cover was provided https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/master-comics-64-fawcett-publications-1945-condition-vf-/a/122015-13289.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515#
  12. That's how I grade. I then look insude the book and do the same. But yeah, the back cover counts as much as the front cover. So staining on the back would be as bad, to me, as staining on the front.
  13. No worries, thanks for getting back to me. I love the way you are handling this sale though
  14. Man things are rough in Virginia. That whole situation of having to choose who dies and who lives that Italy experienced is happening in hospitals right now. I hear it from my cousin who is a doctor in Portsmouth. I can't believe it's come to that already. And just so I stay on topic: I still don't really see it being a buyer's market. It's rather stable still from what I am looking at and there are even some record highs as well.
  15. You're right, those are some nice prices. When you say you got GA, is any of that from Fawcett?
  16. A lot of my question relies on this and I would be curious as to know the answer if anyone has any insight.
  17. Not worth it. Its a cheap book and wont be worth much more. I just dont want it to split completely.
  18. Just curious, but why would you get this graded anyway?
  19. That should make the mayor of Amity Island proud!
  20. Ian confirmed that it's the latter, they are just keeping his name for marketing value.
  21. Regsrding the retsil comment, its not whether they are retail or not. This is about whether or not employees are still needed to go to work. I too thought of Heritage, I am very surprised they are remaining open when mycomicshop can't
