  1. hahahaha, nice! And yeah, that's a good point. It has his origin which is new material, unlike the others. As for Subby 1, the more I think of it, it may still be a key but more for its cover than anything else. Thanks for all the replies!
  2. Interesting, why do you think Silver Surfer 1 will be the most expensive?
  3. I own the later as well. But that's because Doom is my favourite character and I wanted his early appearances.
  4. Ah, gotcha, I was going for a way darker reference where a green label book was a death sentence.
  5. Ok, here it is, let me know if there is something wrong: Fantastic Four 2 Fantastic Four 3 Fantastic Four 4 Fantastic Four 10 Fantastic Four 11 Fantastic Four 15 Amazing Spider-Man 3 X-Men 6 Tales of Suspense 55 Avengers 10 Journey into Mystery 110 Sgt Fury 12 X-Men 8 Daredevil 5 Rawhide Kid 43 Strange Tales 127 Tales of Suspense 61 Avengers 11 Fantastic Four 33 Journey into Mystery 111 Tales to Astonish 62 Fantastic Four 34 X-Men 9 Amazing Spider-Man 20 Strange Tales 128 Two-Gun Kid 73 Kid Colt Outlaw 120 Tales to Astonish 63 Tales of Suspense 61.Amazing Spider-Man 21 Amazing Spider-Man 23 Daredevil 7
  6. I thought a quick google search would bring this up but I didn't find a list. I want to know which books to pay extra attention to to check if a pin up is missing since it was common for kids to remove those pages back in the day. So, do any of you know a link to such a list, and if not, could you list the Marvel SA books you know have pin ups?
  7. Alright, thanks. It's what I thought. Although I didn't know that there was a thing with 1968 "#1"s. On a slightly similar note, do you think FF 6 will recede to the camp where "if you aint first, you're nothing"? It' the second appearance of both Doom and SA Namor but it never seems to be talked about.
  8. Thats what I was gonna go with. I know we have a tendency to be critical of stains (and rightfully so) but I think the 4.0 range is too low. It's still a nice book overall, congrats to the OP!
  9. I ask because I see this being spoken and I just don't get it. Sure, it's a "number 1 issue" but not only did the character appear in quite a few other silver age books before getting his own series, he's been around since the Golden age. And it being a later silver age title means there are a bunch of it around. Not sure how down the line this is in the pecking order of what gets hot when people want more Submariner. So I'm asking you. What do you think?
  10. Did you send them in knowing of the missing coupon? Also, wouldn't John Hawthorne be more à propos? Yeah that's wack. Although I completely understamd how those could be sent. You have to know a poster is supposed to be there since they were meant to be removed and thus the comic wouldn't appear to be incomplete at first glance. I myself do not know which Marvel books have posters in them and for all I know I may have some silver age marvel books with the posters missing.
  11. Thanks as always for your insights. I had not thought of colour transfer. Yeah, that would stay.
  12. at this point, you are much better off contacting CGC, they have people available to answer these specific questions for you.
  13. Just putting this here to keep an eye out. Wondering how low this will sell. Kind of surprised the person who sent this to CGC didn't even bother checking inside first. And if they did, then it's even more puzzling. What a waste. https://comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Dcaptain%2Bmarvel%2Badventures%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1459732&id=1459732&itemType=0#detail
  14. Captain Marvel Jr 40. It's even got a tongue in cheek title to go with it.
  15. Just to show where we are coming from, here is a comic book that would be high grade were it not from 1 stain on the front cover according to the CGC notes. And this is what CGC gave it. So, since your book has multiple stains on the front and back cover, it will be lower than this.
  16. Any of you seeing more heat on Avengers 57 due to the show?
  17. Got this book in today, bought it already slabbed. With the slab in hand it was easy to see how this couldn't be higher than a 9.4 due to the dust soiling on the upper third (right on the white letters). Now this kind of soiling seems the type that is advertised by pressing/cleaning services as being removable so it being here makes me think this book was not pressed/cleaned. Is that a fair assumption? Or do cleaned books still look like this?
