  1. I havent checked prices lately but I'm assuming the 101 is the cheapest issue there by a lot right?
  2. Flash 110 has less than half that on the census, making is a ridiculous SA deal for a first appearance of a beloved character compared to anything from marvel right now.
  3. No, not with a 3 inch tear. I know overstreet allows 2 inch tear at the 2.0 level so even if this is a bit more than that, I would still go with 2.0. And yeah, it's that tear that's the biggest detriment. I learnt that dust shadows, while ugly, are not that big a deal breaker for CGC. We can't get super high grades with them, of course, but I've seen some real bad dust shadow get 8.0s. I guess they see it like oxidation and yellowing. Not wear from the user but more like wear from age and the elements.
  4. Yes, CGC offers that precise screening. All details are right here, will cost you between 10 and 50$ depending on the value of your book: https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/services-fees/ccs-pressing/
  5. I don't like leaving it open. I get really wound up worried that I will screw something up when thumbing through my comics. With it being closed, you have better protection from a toddler running into you with his juicebox. Anyways, not sure which boards I used but I was able to close my mylytes just fine.
  6. would be fun if we could also have a "is this really a 9.8?!?!?!?" thread where every newbie posts their non 10.0 comic and the answer is an automatic "yes"
  7. in this current market where collectibles are hotter than ever, it would be crazier if grading companies didn't raise prices.
  8. That's why I collect Fawcetts. Although, this year has even gotten crazy for them.
  9. Not the case for all DC keys. Batman 121, has reached crazy new levels these past few years and Detective 359 has tripled in value in a short time too. Showcase 17 is getting ridiculous prices I never thought it could get. And there's plenty more reaching all time highs now like Hawkman 4, Blue Beetle 1, Batman 189, Showcase 30, ect. If anyone wants to sell me those DC books at the prices they were 6 years ago, by all means please do.
  10. lol, I know I'm not. But hey, with key books, some may have been undervalued and are now getting prices will will become the ne norm for them.
  11. It's not colour touch. The book will still take a hit on the grade due to this but it won't be considered restored.
  12. A press/clean would really help this book. It's a pretty awesome copy. I'd say 8.0 after a press/clean. Without it, could go anywhere between 6.0-7.0
  13. Magneto. My favorite Marvel characters are Magneto and Doom. I have an FF 5 but I don't have an X-Men 1, and I would not buy one at the current prices.
  14. One very important thing to remember, books look better in a holder. The only way to come out a winner is to buy the grader notes and see if they include non colour breaking creases, finger bends ant the like. Plus, pressing is a well known thing these days, if the book you are looking at was slabbed recently, then assume it's been pressed. You can find that out by typing in the slab's ID code on the CGC website.
  15. X-men 1, it's the only book with a character I truly love and wish I owned.
  16. First Kang is obviously quite hot now but has there been any increases for FF 19?
  17. lol, people re already complaining that the wait times are long with the limited service CGC already offers (that being magic and pokemon). If you add more it will only get longer. I am absolutely certain that CGC was to accept YuGiOh now, the wait time would also be 1 year.
  18. then this is the best time to sell your restores 3.5 and use the funds to buy the book you really need. And get another copy of 6 if ever it goes down.
  19. I know it's not. I was just using the same extreme language the OP was using for fun and to further make fun of this situation that it very recurrent. It seems many amateurs have no clue what a 9.8 means. I am going to copy paste my response above in any further question we get on this.
  20. If you are really nervous, then the only way to truly minimize risk is by removing steps in between your books getting to CGC. So you could use their in house pressing service instead (CCS) since it is insured by CGC based on the same value you stated on your submissions forms.
  21. My Amazing Spider-man 361 had manufacturing tears in the inner pages and came back 9.6
