  1. I help out at a lcs and well if a book is brought up with a price tag already on it that is what I ring up. Even if it has suddenly gotten hot and is worth more. With the amount of back issues I'd have to say a small amount of books may not have a price on them and have to be looked up. Not priced they are probably going to be priced at a minimum basic amount as keys bought in collections are sorted and priced and go up on the wall, inside the counter all in the new acquisition box. Now there are bargain boxes and I remember a young guy in his 20s digging through those boxes for over 2 hours. He'd came over with large stacks of books and was still digging through the $1 boxes. There were over a 130 or so and he was still digging. I went to the store room and found a old long box I was just going to give him because of the amount he had pulled out. I quickly went through the stacks and out of those books there were approximately 5 $2 books. Easily noticably as they were bagged and the $1 books aren't. And there's a large 2 written in pen on the front of the bag. So I told him about the 5 $2 books in the stack and he just went off on a complete rant how all comic book stores do this. That he pulled those books out of the $1 box and it's not his job to sort shops stock out for them. Stating he wanted to talk to the owner to find out what is going to happen now and that he wasn't buying anything until it was sorted. So I got his details and put the box behind the counter. As a collector who was only helping out the shop owner as he couldn't run his store that day I thought the whole situation was a complete laugh. He had a lot of $1 books and here I was giving him a long box for free. He did say he flew in from out of state. And the 5 $2 books I was just going to charge him either $1 each or just let him have them as he was buying a ton of this stuff. But I never told him that as he just went off in a complete rant about all comic stores doing this. Of course customers move books around and someone put the $2 books back in the $1 boxes by mistake. There's no need to make a scene because of that.
  2. I'm at a 3.0-3.5 piece out is more of a problem on the front cover, it would easily be a 3.5 if it was on the back cover.
  3. I'm at a 8.0 due to dings and most importantly this stain. That's just my opinion.
  4. The hostility, for me is if I don't give a spoon about a book then it sells pennies on the dollar for FMV. If I bid on a book I want to win I always pay the iron price. What's up with that
  5. 'Im not a professional grader' Yet they've been slinging comics on the Bay for decades. Yet they know what comics are worth. They are not professional graders yet they seem to know the value of a hulk 181 is. The I'm not a professional grader is code for I know how to grade, the book I'm selling is a dog's breakfast and a complete limp cloth yet I want to sell this spoon from my inventory at a mint price. Suckers hit buy it now please 🙏 And if this was the 1800s I'd be trying to sell you my amazing health tonic, good for what ails you!
  6. They don't fit in the drawer standing upright, hence the sideways. Maybe I should arrange so the spines are down, I just don't get slabs that have movement that would damage the edge being stored the other way though I probably should just default to spines down.
  7. About 6 months before the first Avengers movie was released my lcs back in Australia had got in a copy of Avengers 1. I've always wanted a copy back when I was buying Avengers 277 upwards off the new stands and I'd see those Ross ads of early Marvels including prices for Avengers 1. Anyway I bought the copy that came into my lcs that same day and a few months later had it sent off to the states to be graded as is.
  8. My comic room, my lounge room floor. Just joking, I was sorting books to put away in drawers. My books are in drawers like this And I have my spinner rack that I've already shown. I do have some slabs on my desk.
  9. I have my books slabbed or in mylar snugs so there's no flap to tape down. I do have my May 1972 books sitting raw in my spinner rack. Some issues are two to four deep in the rack. Grades range from VG - NM.
  10. Too bad my 9.4 isn't worth a grand. Probably be lucky to get $200 for it and take a bath at the auction.
  11. I have to disagree with the he is not press. Anyone who takes pictures, video and shares information to other people are press and it's a protected right. Buttttttt!!!!! He is on private property not in public or public property so one should ask for permission to take photos and record. People ask cosplay people is it ok if I can take your photo. And one should ask dealers is it ok if I take a picture/video of your wall books. Most smart dealers will say ok because it's free advertising on social platforms. Now asking dealers questions/interview while recording one should ask is it ok to record. Otherwise catch them outside on the sidewalk where there is no expectation of privacy in public. I hope this post isn't political talking about rights?
  12. A group shot of my pedigree TTA run that I've been working on since 2005.
