  1. Love the couple and the odd person looking covers. I call them third wheel covers. Then there are the covers that are just funny. Like this one with a great pickup line that has red flags flying. Then there's the guy only wants one thing covers.
  2. I do like the covers of DCs in the 60s When it comes to the 70s, Charltons can have some mediocre covers then they do this And if I come across any more copies of this book, I just have to get it for the cover looks so wrong.
  3. The old story of supply vs demand. Golden age in general isn't in high supply so the demand is always higher. Key silver age is a different story in the non high grade. All books in technical grade are not equal. During the boom if one had a AF15 with marvel chipping and cream pages they would get good money on it. Demand was higher then supply and it would of sold. Now during the softening of a boom that book would probably sell for under FMV brining the price down. Today if one was looking for a AF15 in say 4.0 would you just get a copy, any copy? No, the urgency of any copy is not happening unless the price is really sweet. You'll probably wait for a copy that has no marvel chipping and has at least off-white pages.
  4. Nice pick up 👍 If I was at the con you wouldn't of seen it. It's a May 72 book and I buy them all for my spinner rack If you ever want to trade it I'll trade you 4 Charlton romances for it?
  5. I still get out bid at auctions. Original romance comic art from early 70s. 5 pages all going for between $80-$170 with buyers premium. The page I wanted was out bid, I had $280 and it went for $10 over then add buyers premium. Then there are other books I end up losing too or get a FMV and they are 9.2 run books. Maybe it's just my luck Price the pages are going for, the one page I actually bid on and lost to the next bid That's how auction always work for me. Bright side I got the seller more money 🤪
  6. Wouldn't that technically make him your best friend? 🐶
  7. If dealers aren't our friends, why did one invite me onto his boat for a day out on the harbor?
  8. I quite agree about the page quality, I was able to get $50 off sticker price because of it. For some reason these distributor bought books collection the 25c DC books are a little hit and miss with page quality, while the DC 20c books appear to have bone white pages.
  9. Another book bought straight off a distributor back in the early 70s. Thanks for looking. One book hard to find in high grade so another that should be dropped off at the next local con where CGC are.
  10. Scored a big 5 points, if I ever sell books raw remember I grade harsher then CGC, Actually I over graded the Avengers So scrap that 🤪
  11. 22 Pep, yeah that's important. 22 Crimesuspense stories pretty important too as it may have been the cover that sealed the deal for comics code being on all comics for only a small amount of time like 5 decades.
  12. I'm the same way with obvious facsimiles. And I suppose that's why I don't own a Ultimate Fallout 4. With all the different variants, editions and facsimiles I haven't bothered to navigate what's what and have just stuck to the older books.
  13. Australia frew Phantom. This was a copy bought off a news stand in 2019.
  14. Originally I think these were not stored in a bag and board. I cherry picked a Demon 1
